Locci Snowstar awoke in a vast snowfield, the chill of the morning air seeping into his bones. At first, he thought he must be dreaming. However, as he shivered against the cold, he knew this was all too real.
"How did I end up here?" Locci exclaimed aloud, only to be startled once more as he realized he was howling. Yet, strangely, he could understand his own words echoing back to him.
Locci then surveyed his entire body and discovered that white fur now covered him entirely. As he glanced behind him, he noticed a fluffy tail swishing in the snow. "What happened to my body? Am I some kind of animal now?" Locci panicked, his voice filled with uncertainty.
Locci then attempted to run around, testing his new body's agility. To his surprise, he found himself moving with an ease that was almost instinctual.
As he pondered his situation, memories flooded back. He recalled downloading a newly released game called Nixworld before bed the previous night. It seemed he had likely fallen asleep during the download. Yet, the sudden transition from his apartment to this unfamiliar snowy landscape made no sense.
Locci halted in his tracks as he caught sight of a herd of fluffy sheep gathering in a mossy field ahead. However, those weren't ordinary animals; they were Nixes, common creature monsters found in the game called Nixworld.
A wild idea suddenly flashed into his mind. "Could I be inside Nixworld?"
There was one way to find out. In Nixworld, there existed something called a "system" that provided information to the system holder. Tentatively, Locci called out the word "system," and to his astonishment, a blue screen materialized before him.
[Name: Locci Snowstar
Species: Snowoo
Level: 1 | Grade: Extra
Innate Ability: 1 | Essence: 0/1
Strength: 6 | Endurance: 5 | Resistance: 7
Speed: 9 | Stamina: 9 | Polish: 8
Mana: 3 | Force: 5 | Wisdom: 4
Soul: 2 | Sense: 8 | Willpower: 2]
"It's real! I'm actually inside a game world? But why am I a Snowoo?" At this juncture, Locci somewhat resigned himself to his fate. However, he was bewildered to find himself transported as a Snowoo. Not only was he no longer human, but he also wasn't a Nix either.
Snowoo was a species of animal monster from a game called Pokesol, which served as the inspiration for Nixworld. Locci couldn't fathom how he had transformed into a Pokesol within Nixworld.
"Does this mean I'm the only Pokesol? Am I a unique Nix?" Locci pondered aloud.
In Nixworld, Nixes were categorized into grades based on their rarity: common, uncommon, rare, heroic, unique, legendary, and lastly, mythical. However, there was also a separate grade outside of these seven standard grades known as the extra grade. The extra grade denoted Nixes as the sole representatives of their respective species.
"Hmm, according to the system, my grade is 'extra.' Well, if I'm stuck in this place, that's not too bad," Locci mused to himself.
Becoming an extra-grade Nix came with two benefits. First, they could grow limitlessly. And second, they could live indefinitely as long as they weren't killed.
"I might live comfortably forever, but I'm worried about my mental state. Right now, I'm fine in this form, but will I be able to endure it in the future?"
Locci resolved to set aside his worries, recognizing that survival took precedence over all else. While the world of a monster trainer might sound exciting, he was reincarnated as a Pokesol/Nix, which suggested a harsher reality. From this perspective, he could envision a challenging life ahead, constantly defending himself from greedy humans and other Nixes alike.

"I need to become stronger," Locci declared, determination flickering in his eyes.
In Nixworld, Nixes could enhance their strength by consuming other Nixes or magical plants. However, since magical plants were rare, Locci had no alternative but to hunt down other Nixes.
"Unfortunately, Nixworld has only been out for a few days. I don't know much about this game unlike Pokesol. If only I had been reincarnated into the Pokesol world," Locci lamented.
"No, no. Let's not succumb to despair just yet. Let's calm down and think," Locci reasoned with himself. "I recognize the Nix herd ahead, so this place must be Winterhold, not Alcatraz."
In Nixworld, there were two cold regions. The North Pole, referred to as Winterhold, was a relatively beginner-friendly area. Here, a diverse array of Nixes inhabited various ranges, ranging from low to high levels.
"I can level up in this place until I become strong enough," Locci resolved.
Locci began to formulate a plan for leveling up. The most practical approach seemed to be consuming other Nixes. Yet, as he contemplated this strategy, doubts crept into his mind. He had never engaged in combat as a human, and he wasn't sure if he could muster the courage to do so as a Pokesol.
"My body has adapted to this form remarkably quickly, but I can't guarantee that I won't hesitate when facing monsters," Locci admitted, his human instincts lingering within him.
Nevertheless, with no other options available, he knew he had to try.
Locci set his sights on a herd of fluffy sheep ahead, known as Fluffinix, among the low-leveled monsters found in Winterhold. Despite their individual weakness, they possessed a collective courage that made them formidable opponents, particularly when faced alone.
Nevertheless, Locci cautiously approached them, blending into the snowy landscape. With no guarantee of encountering other weak Nixes, he knew he had no choice but to confront the Fluffinix herd.
As he drew nearer, Locci noticed a strange sense of calm washing over him. He couldn't help but wonder if his emotions had adapted to his new form as well.
Capitalizing on this newfound tranquility, Locci devised a plan to defeat the Fluffinix herd in a single strike. He planned on using Snowoo's special ability. Opening his system window, he double-checked to ensure he possessed the necessary ability for his plan to succeed.
[Name: Frostbite Fury
Passive: -
Active: Frostbite Fury is the chilling ability of Snowoo, enabling it to unleash a flurry of razor-sharp claws infused with icy cold energy. This attack not only inflicts physical damage but also leaves victims vulnerable to frostbite, slowing their movements and draining their warmth.]
A grin spread across Locci's face as he laid eyes on the skill. Even in the Pokesol world, Snowoo proved to be a formidable creature, thanks to this ability. Coupled with its adorable appearance, Snowoo had quickly become Locci's favorite Pokesol.
"I've got this. I'd win," Locci declared, bolstering his resolve with newfound confidence.
Locci positioned himself behind a lone Fluffinix, separated from the rest of the herd. With precision and agility, he leaped forward, swinging his claws. A chilling blue light radiated from his nails, forming a flurry of luminous blue energy that engulfed the Fluffinix. In an instant, the creature fell, defeated by Locci's swift and powerful strike.
"I did it! I won!" Locci exclaimed triumphantly, but his joy was short-lived as he noticed the other Fluffinixes turning their attention towards him. "Oh, no. This is bad," he muttered, realizing he had inadvertently drawn the attention of the rest of the herd.
Locci swiftly seized the defeated Fluffinix in his mouth and bolted, knowing all too well that the rest of the herd was hot on his heels.
In this unforgiving cold, native creatures commanded respect. Even the seemingly weakest among them possessed survival instincts that couldn't be underestimated. The Fluffinix, though individually feeble, exhibited a collective bravery bordering on madness. Yet, it was this very unity and determination that ensured their survival.
Having taken one of their own, Locci understood that the herd would pursue him relentlessly. His only chance lay in outpacing them, but to do so, he would have to release his prey. However, he couldn't guarantee finding easier prey, nor could he guarantee that he wouldn't flee in fear himself next time. With resolve hardening in his heart, Locci vowed not to release his captured prey, knowing that if he couldn't survive this ordeal, he might as well face his fate here and now.
Locci continued his desperate sprint, eyes fixed on the distant pine tree forest. If he could just make it there, he might stand a chance of hiding. Yet, the task was far from easy, especially with the relentless herd of Fluffinix behind him unleashing their special abilities.
The Fluffinix behind him began to expand their fluffy fur and bounce around, their movements resembling a synchronized dance. As they ricocheted off one another, their speed increased exponentially. Remarkably, their movements formed intricate patterns, allowing them to maintain a cohesive formation as they closed in on Locci. It was only a matter of seconds before they would succeed in surrounding him.
Locci sensed that the cooldown time for his ability had elapsed. However, he understood its futility; he couldn't defeat even one of them in a single move unless they let their guard down.
Nevertheless, Locci refused to yield. Fueled by his determination to escape, he channeled his ability into the ground, unleashing a flurry of claws that propelled his body forward towards the forest.
