Intermission 2: The Scar and The Mission
Part 1: The Scar
In the broad daylight lay a town. Dusty, wooden, rotted, and forgotten. Here lies the town of Tuviere. Recent incidents have brought upon great interest upon the land it stands on. Caution tape blocked off entire streets from access, protecting the evidence markers that lay inside. Blackened tears of wood rip across the architecture as if it were one giant flesh wound. The great battle that took place here left the terrain fractured and uneven. Amongst the ruins walk two men, both wearing a generic white shirt with jeans.
Team Harmonious grunts, and they weren’t particularly enthusiastic about being there.
“Ugh, how much longer do we have to stay here? There’s nothing left that hasn’t already been checked.” complained one.
“You already know as much as I do Warner.” said the other. “Ever since that weird ass Pokémon drew all over the bosses wall, he wanted us to look into everything about Tuviere.”
“But why, Park?” groaned Warner. “Just what does Tuviere have to do with that Pokémon? This is just another isolated incident of bad people stealing Pokémon, nothing we haven’t handled before. I think the higher ups are hiding something from us.”
“Please, I suggest that you have faith in Armageddon. Everything he does he does for the good of all people and Pokémon alike.”
“Yeah, convince me while we share the same half of that other group's name that almost ended the world 5 years ago.”
“A mere coincidence.”
“What do you mean? We were formed afterward. They could’ve just gone with ‘Harmonious’ and we would be a lot less sketchy.”
Park reached into his pocket and lit a cigarette. “But regardless, you’re still here. That tells me that you at least have some faith.”
Warner hesitated, “That’s because… I-I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
“Mm-hmm.” Park took a drag of his cigarette, not wanting to push further. The two stood around in silence until Warner noticed something.
“Hey uh, who’s that?” He pointed down the street.
“Looks like a Greninja and two Houndoom to me.” Park said casually.
“We're just gonna let them waltz right into the evidence area?”
“They’re wild Pokémon, they won’t do much as long as you don’t bother ‘em.”
“Yeah, a Greninja walking with two Houndoom by its side. Tell me that isn’t suspicious. Someone must’ve sent them here.” Warner began to walk over to confront the Pokémon.
“Don’t bother Warner. We don’t want to go causing unnecessary conflict.”
“Didn’t you hear our orders? We were to stop anybody from checking out the area besides returning police and Slaughter. And frankly, I’m getting a bit bored. Hey you three! Stop right now!”
“Damn it.” Park flicked his cigarette away and followed. “To think it would’ve another easy day today.”
() Greninja and the Zygarde cores walked down the street focused. Suddenly, Warner shouted to them to stop. They all looked at him and heard what he had to say.
“This area is under Team Harmonious jurisdiction. Unless you can prove you were sent by Slaughter or the police, I can’t let you enter.”
They stared for another moment. “Ignore them.” said Red to Greninja. It nodded and continued to walk.
“Hey wait!” shouted Warner as he watched them move.
“Let it go Warner. I’m sure Slaughter won’t notice if we let them roam around a while.” said Park.
“Yeah whatever. Those don’t look like any Houndoom I’ve ever seen.”
“I’m sure we're just unfamiliar.”
Greninja approached the caution tape and cut it away. The three moved to inspect their own areas of the evidence.
Warner gestured to the Pokémon in a very exaggerated manner, waving his arms back and forth. “Come on! Look at that!”
“I’m sure it’ll be quick”
“Yeah right. If anything I think you’re being lazy. What if Slaughter came here right now and saw us dawdling around while these suspicious Pokémon examine the evidence. You would get demoted for insubordination, and I would get your job! I’m sure you wouldn’t like that.”
“I outrank you. What makes you believe that Slaughter would ever believe you?”
“Are you saying you can get away with lying to Slaughter?”
Park paused for a moment. “Fair enough, you win. Let’s go.”
“Haha, alright!” The two both threw out their pokéballs, releasing an Azumarill and a Nuzleaf.
“I don’t believe you three heard what my subordinate said!”
“Hey…!”
“You’re trespassing on Team Harmonious jurisdiction. Leave now or we’ll make you leave.”
Greninja glanced back at the two. It asked if it could take them on. “No, not this time.” said Red. “Disperse, and meet back at the docks.” Greninja nodded. The three all went separate directions and out of sight in almost an instant.
Park gritted his teeth while Warner’s jaw dropped. “They actually just got away with that huh?” asked Warner.
“Find them!” ordered Park, running off to the left.
“Yep!” confirmed Warner in a panic, going the opposite direction.
----------------------------------------
() A few minutes had passed. Greninja found themselves at the docks. Leftover were the many broken cages laid astrew across the ground. Greninja kicked one into the ocean as the Cores examined the others.
“Anything Greninja?” asked Red. Greninja looked along the ground observing the veins of negative energy. It said there was nothing out of the ordinary. “So we’re back to square one again.”
“Please brother, I ask that you give up this fallacy.” said Blue. “There is no such thing as a Dreamwalker. You were simply delusional from the constant quelling of the hate wells.”
“Yes but, you must understand. I could feel them as if they were the same as you and I.”
“Perhaps, but why is it that I do not share this trait? Why is it that the Dreamwalker refuses to communicate with me also?” Red remained silent. “We have taken a liberty upon ourselves, do you not remember? To protect the people and Pokémon of Kalos from this pain that remains buried deep inside. It was you that had convinced me of the power people held when they work together to protect something, convinced me to continue to protect them with my… our own power. Yet your will is already beginning to slip, so close to the start. Have you forgotten how you would protect these people who protected us? Kalos is their home as much as it is ours, and I’d rather fade away before I lose sight of that notion.”
Red hung its head in reconsideration. “Yes, you’re right. I was a fool. I suppose I had just compared myself to that of the menial chores of a human. But our purpose is much greater. We maintain order and it is up to us to quell the chaos.” Red walked ahead of them. “Well then, shall we make our usual rounds?”
“That’s more like it brother!” cheered Blue. “Forward! For Kalos!”
The three began running down the docks, but then a sharp ringing echoed throughout Red’s head. “Hmm, do you say something Greninja?” Greninja denied it. “Hmm, I wonder what that was about-” A great searing pain flared up in Red’s head, causing it to tumble across the ground, writhing in pain.
Greninja and Blue skidded to a halt. “Brother what’s happened!?” asked Blue.
Red was covering its ears with its paws. “Voices! Loud ones at that!”
“Could it be an attack from a psychic?” Greninja reacted by turning away and flashing a water kunai in a defensive stance, but it didn’t detect anything.
“N-No, it’s… it’s the Dreamwalker!”
“Again with your delusions! Who would be so cruel as to use them against you?!”
“It’s them again, I swear it!” Blue watched Red writhe in pain. He became concerned.
“W-What are they doing to you?” asked Blue reluctantly.
“Their mind is a mess! What could’ve happened?!”
“Your mind is falling apart along with the Dreamwalker’s! Try to push through, have them hear you!”
Red strained and groaned. It began to glow green as the cells making up its body began to split apart, eventually leaving only Red. It struggled over to the side of the docks that stood over the crashing waves below. In one all out effort, Red screamed, “Dreamwalker!” into the sky. As the mist flew around, the voices finally stopped. Red was heaving and Greninja walked over to make sure it didn’t fall into the ocean. Red quietly gestured it away. Calmly but urgently, it asked, “We’re trying to reach you again, please respond!”
A moment of silence. “He hears us! I finally got through to him!”
Blue gave a quiet huzzah before asking, “Good. Then how may I go about communicating-”
"Quite irritable this time around aren't we. It matters not who we are. All that matters is that you're the Dreamwalker!"
“Well, I can see you have your mind on other things”
Red continued to talk with pauses between each of its sentences.
"So knowledgeable about our predicament already. I assume that Bonnie has told you everything. Then you must know that-"
"W-What?"
"But it has to be you! Who else could resonate with us to such a degree?"
"Please, you must see reason! We require your assistance or else Kalos will be left in eternal suffering!"
Blue and Greninja watched as an unknown tension began to grow strong. “Perhaps you shouldn’t push so hard brother.” suggested Blue. Greninja got a glimpse of the ground and realized that the negative energy was beginning to culminate, right under Red. So much negative energy was pooling that it was starting to become blinding.
"This anger of yours, it is unnatural! We can help you if you just give us the chance!"
Greninja urgently pointed out the danger to Blue. “What? Here?! Quickly, get him out of there!” Both Greninja and Blue rushed forward to grab Red.
"What did you- ack! Guagh!"
A massive red vine exploded out of the ground, blowing back Greninja and Blue across the docks. Red was captured and consumed almost immediately.
“Brother!” shouted Blue. “You hand him back right now you fiend!” Blue jumped and went in for the attack. A vicious vine whipped it away with such a force that it was sent through three buildings before stopping. Greninja watched in horror as it watched what had just transpired. It materialized two water kunai in defense of itself.
The vines attacked relentlessly. Greninja was able to cut and outmaneuver them for a time. But the vine grew ever numerous, eventually exploding out of the ground. The force sent Greninja flying into the top of the bell tower 3 blocks away.
Warner was overlooking the docks from higher up in the town and heard loud noises coming from it. “What the hell happened?!” The sound of raining splintered wood and violently splashing water was all that could be heard. The vines grew and grew, then began to twist, curl, and constrict upon itself. Eventually, it revealed itself by roaring a bloodcurdling roar that could be heard for miles. There stood the vines in imitation of a mega Tyranitar, curled up tightly to visualize muscles without the skin.
“What the hell is that?!” asked Warner.
Park immediately ran past him and said, “Don’t matter, it’s we time we deal with it!”
“What?! You actually wanna try and fight that thing?!”
“You said you were bored anyway. Well something interesting just so happened to come up! So get your ass over there now!”
“D-Damn it! Nuzleaf return!” Warner recalled Nuzleaf. He sighed, “Here goes. Guess I should be mindful of what I wish for.” He took off running towards the docks.
----------------------------------------
()Park and Warner walked cautiously along the dirt path along opposite sides. The monster easily stood twice as tall compared to the wooden structures surrounding it. As Park continued to approach, he noticed that Warner had stopped moving.
“Warner, what are you doing?” he said in a loud whisper.
“Y-You don’t actually want to go near that thing do you?” Warner argued.
“I do. And I’ll do it without you if I must.” Park continued towards the monster.
“What?! Ugh.” Warner released Nuzleaf. “Keep me company, will you?” Nuzleaf nodded. The two approached slowly as well.
The two were only a street away now and still the monster did not react.
“Look at it Warner. Tell me what you think it's thinking about.” quizzed Park.
“You want me to speak for a monster? Prolly thinkin’ monster things I don’t know!” argued Warner.
Park observed its thousand yard stare. All it did was sit there and look past them. Being so close now, they could hear voices. No words, just struggle. Grunts of effort, pain, sadness, and anger, as if the monster was trying to bottle up all these emotions into itself.
Park raised himself from his cautious posture and shouted, “Hey!”
Warner and Nuzleaf jumped. “What’re you doing?! You tryin’ to get us killed damn it!”
“Shut up and look.” Warner saw that the monster still did nothing. “Just what is this thing?” asked Park, fast walking to get right up close.
“Wait stop!” Warner ran to keep up with him. Then the sudden snapping of wood made him jump and hug Nuzleaf for comfort. The vines were growing, in and out of whatever could contain them. Slowly but surely, they spread their roots.
Park looked back to see Warner still hugging Nuzleaf. “What? Did things get a little too interesting for you?”
Warner quickly set Nuzleaf down. “N-No, I got this. Just needed a little help is all.” Park looked away, smiling slightly. Warner reached over to touch one of the vines. “Just what is this stuff anyway?”
Park quickly realized what was going on. “Don’t touch it!”
It was too late. At the slightest contact, electricity burst from the vine, launching Warner halfway across the road.
“Warner!” called Park. Him and Nuzleaf rushed to his aid. “Warner, are you okay?” Park tried to use his arm to support Warner’s head, but Warner aggressively pushed it away.
“I don’t need your help!” he growled.
“Warner? What are you saying?”
“I'm saying get away from me! By Arceus, you’re such an asshole.” Both Park and Nuzleaf were taken aback by this sudden show of aggression. “Question my faith in Team Harmonious while you stand around and don’t give back to that same team.” Warner pushed himself up from the ground. “They gave us a place to belong, Park. And you would just ignore their wishes! We owe them everything, so why don’t you play your damn part! Now there is a monster consuming the land and for all we know, those three Pokémon you let waltz right in could’ve caused it!” Park took notice of the vine behind Warner, still buzzing with electricity. “And to think that you caught me doing such an embarrassing thing with Nuzleaf! I know you wanted to taunt me just like everyone else!”
Nuzleaf felt hurt at that statement. It tried to approach, but Warren stuck his hand out. “No! Stay away! I’ve received enough ridicule with you around!” Nuzleaf was on the verge of tears. The sight of that threw Park over the edge. He forcefully grabbed Warner by the shoulder. “No! I told you to stay away-!”
“No, you listen to me! This is not who you are! I’ve known you long enough to know that you love Nuzleaf! It’s your friend, your partner! Speak your words about me, but I know you would never say such a thing about Nuzleaf, ever!” Warner’s eyes lightened up slightly. Then Nuzleaf hugged his leg with all the endearment it could. Warner finally snapped out of it.
He looked at Park, scared and his breath shaky. “W-What hell happened to me?”
“I-”
Their conversation was cut short when a green light streaked beside them. The two looked all around to see that the sky was absolutely full of them. They all converged inside of a building at the end of the street, punching through the wood like bullets. A green light grew brighter and brighter, to the point of being blinding. Then it exploded with such a force that the building was completely leveled as well with half of all the architecture that surrounded. The wind was so forceful that Park and Warner had to shield their eyes. There within the rubble, stood 50% Zygarde.
As the splintered wood fell all around, it spoke. “Foul creature! You would dare strike me! I will liberate my brother from your remains if I have too!”
“What is that thing!?” asked Warner. “And did it just talk?!” Blue shrouded itself in green energy and rocketed itself forward.
“Get down!” yelled Park. The two dived away to avoid the attack.
The monster finally reacted to the incoming attack. Its chest opened up, sounding like splitting wood. Inside was a gold glowing projectile. It launched it like a cannon at Blue. It made contact, breaking Blue out of its green aura and sending it flipping into the air. Blue used this momentum however to slam its tail hard against the ground. The ground then began to rupture towards the monster. Once it got there, the ground shined orange and exploded with such ferocity that it sent Park, Warner, and Nuzleaf tumbling down the road. The explosive cloud was so large that it sent the entire town darkness.
Park and Warner regained their footing while coughing and looked to see the damage. As the dust cleared, they saw that half the dock had been obliterated. The ocean quickly rushed in to fill the newly made crater.
Warner was in complete shock. “What is that thing? What is that power?” Nuzleaf sat with complete fear taking over its body.
“That’s Zygarde. The one who caused the Battle for Kalos, and also saved us from it as well.” explained Park.
“The legendary order Pokémon? I’ve never seen it in real life. Why is it here of all places?”
“All I know is that since it is here, it must be something important.”
Blue stood tall, waiting for the dust to clear further to see if the monster had been dealt with. Then without warning, a gigantic dark pulse collided into Blue. It roared with strain trying to resist the attack, but it was too much, toppling blue to the ground. It slid across the street right to Park and Warner's feet. Then another bloodcurdling roar blew away all the remaining dust to reveal that the monster was still up, but it had still taken considerable damage. However, it was quickly regenerating it as well as attaching itself to new ground, form a spider web of vines that filled the crater.
Park and Warner saw it was readying up another dark pulse. Before it could fire, a flash from the top of the bell tower brought upon several water shurikens. All of them hit the monster and stunned it out of the attack. It roared angrily before taking another barrage of shurikens. Greninja was now jumping rooftop to rooftop, approaching the monster. The monster retaliated by sending red lashing vines at Greninja. They tore through the building as if they were paper. The vines would whip and slam, but Greninja avoided them with precision. It then hitched a ride on a vine as it returned to the side of the monster. The monster looked at Greninja with seething intent. It slashed the vine it was riding on, ripping it in half. Greninja jumped and used its water kunai to stab into the red vines flesh, using it as something to hold onto. As the vines began to whip around for a counter attack, Greninja ascended as fast as it could, looking to read the head. The vines lashed out, being too numerous and powerful for Greninja to hack and slash through. Eventually, one pounded Greninja into the sky. Another vine went in for a grab. Greninja reacted by shifting to the side and stabbing it with a kunai. It then used all its strength to slam it into the ground.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
As Greninja held in place, it began to pulse and mutate. Smaller vines wrapped and constricted to form a new head resembling that of a Yanmega, screeching at Greninja. Greninja was taken aback in disgust. Then the vine rocketed to the air right over the monsters head. Greninja let go of the kunai and dropped down to smash the monster's head in with an ax kick aerial ace. It roared in pain, but the attack wasn’t enough to stun it for long. The monster clamped its mega Tyranitar like jaws onto Greninja in an effort to grind it up with its teeth. Greninja used all of its strength to pry the mouth back open, eventually having enough room to form a water kunai and stab the roof of the mouth. The monster lashed around trying to spit Greninja out. Greninja managed to stay inside, stabbing the roof of the mouth several more times. Then the mouth began to glow purple. Greninja realized its mistake too late and was forcefully ejected out of the mouth by a point blank dark pulse. It shot it like a meteor straight into the streets of the town.
Greninja lay in a small crater as it watched the monster loom over it. The Yanmega vine seemingly communicated with the mega Tyranitar portion of the monster. Another huge vine rose to the side and began to take shape. To Greninja’s horror, it watched as it formed into something resembling a Dragalge’s head. They all nodded in agreement, charging a signal beam, dark pulse, and dragon pulse. They all shot their massive payloads at Greninja. Greninja hasn’t recovered enough to move out of the way, all it could do was watch as doom approached.
“Use protect!” shouted both Park and Warner, running up behind Greninja. Nuzleaf and Azumarill rushed forward and formed a massive blue shield. The combined attacks hit hard, dispersing excess energy every which way as they impact. The beams persisted however and gave the two Pokémon a hard time. They began to get pushed back. No matter how much they dug in their feet, the ground beneath them tore away. Greninja got up to help by pushing them forward in an effort to keep ground. But this was too much for even Greninja. All three were getting pushed back, all straining under the colossal power of the combined beams.
“No! Nuzleaf!” shouted Warner. Park grit his teeth at the situation. Behind them, Blue finally came to and launched itself into the air.
“Foul creature!” it shouted. “What even prompts the creation of an abomination such as this?! I shall see to it that it eradicated with the full force of my power!” A fountain of green energy erupted out of Blue’s frills, splitting off into little balls. Park and Warner watched in awe as they all scattered across the sky like green stars. “Here!” shouted Blue as loud as it could. It sent down all the green balls like arrows as they streaked across the sky. Each one having the ordinance equivalent to that of a missile. They rapidly strike and exploded, causing the monster to fall back in pain.
Nuzleaf and Azumarill dropped the shield and fell to their knees gasping for air. Greninja stood up and thanked the two of them for protecting it.
“You! Greninja!” called Warner. “That thing is dangerous! We’ll do whatever we can to help you take it down!”
“Are you serious?” asked Park. “The only reason it's hostile is because they provoked it!”
“Well would you like to go up there and say it was all a big misunderstanding?” said Warner in a mocking manner. Before Park could answer, The monster recovered from Blue’s attack. The Dragalge head erupted into a vortex of water, similar to that of aqua tail. It flew over and swung at the group. Greninja tackled Park out of the way while the other rolled.
“Okay fine!” shouted Park. “What do you want us to do?”
Greninja smirked. It walked front and center of the group. The ground began to shake intensely and the air grew misty. Then Greninja exploded into a watery vortex. Park and Warner watched in awe as the winds blew away mounds of dust. Greninja began to change. It’s head grew red and black fins resembling hair grew behind its eyes.
“Long time no see Greninja.” said a familiar voice in Greninja’s head. “Looks like it’s serious this time. Let’s show ‘em what for!” Greninja gave a determined nod. The watery vortex exploded out, suspending the water in the air for a short time before rushing to gather behind its back. After a short time, a giant water shuriken formed and a burst of air exemplified Greninja’s power.
“No way.” said Warner. “It’s-”
“Ash Greninja.” finished Park.
Greninja extended its arms and stretched side to side. “You ready to go buddy?” asked the familiar voice. Greninja nodded. It gave instructions to Nuzleaf and Azumarill, pointing to the Yanmega and Dragalge.
“I get it.” said Park. “It wants us to distract the two heads while it goes in for the main monster.”
“Alright!” said Warner, pumping his fist. “Let’s do this!”
“Good! Now you go left and I’ll go right!”
“Sir!” Park paused for a moment. “Eh, forget I said that, just go!” Warner parkoured to the top of a building to the left. Park smiled slightly before running off.
Greninja told its plan to Blue, asking it to knock the monster off balance. “Got it!” confirmed Blue. “Use that time to find a weakness! Brother depends upon you more than ever!” With that, Blue burst into a green aura and charged in. The monster prepared to counter attack, but it was hit on the side by an energy ball.
“Hey! Big, fat, and fugly!” The monster turned to see Warner and Nuzleaf, whose hands were slightly smoking from the recently shot attack. Warner pointed his thumb down tauntingly and shouted, “Get shit on!” The monster moved to retaliate but got hit by a hydro pump on its other side.
It roared in the direction of Park and Azumarill. “You’re quite the nuisance. I'll take you out myself!”
The monster roared angrily into the air. It forcefully sent the Yanmega and Dragalge head vines into the ground, shattering an immense amount of ground. It seemed to have forgotten about Blue however. It smashed into the monster's chest full force, violently ripping the vines from where they kept the monster standing. Blue zipped off to the side and the monster fell. When it recovered, it looked at itself and roared intensely. It smashed its arms into the ground, ingraining them into it. The buried heads exploded out into the open, each confronting Park and Warner on their own respective buildings. Four new vines exploded out of the wood of the buildings along with them. The two battled it out as hard as they could.
Greninja was closing in fast. The main head of the monster took notice and fired a dark pulse down the street. Greninja dodged it with ease as the attack rolled over the street side to side. The monster then pushed hard into the ground, causing its arms to pulse with muscle. The resulting attack pushed the entire coastal area of Tuviere into the other inner half, shooting a giant cliff face from the ground, stopping Greninja dead in its tracks.
Park and Warner were trying their best to keep their respective heads distracted, but the platforms they stood upon were disappearing fast. Nuzleaf cut all it could with night slash and Azumarill used play rough to bash the vines away. The numbers were too much however. For every one beat, another three lashed out in retaliation, destroying the rickety roofs they stood upon every time they dodged. Eventually, a moment's hesitation from Park resulted in him taking a full swing.
“Park!” shouted Warner concernedly. He only had the time to worry about himself however as more attacks came his way.
Greninja saw the negative energy through the wall as well as the blue positive energy flowing through Park and Warner and their Pokémon. “They’re in trouble!” said the voice in Greninja’s head. “We have to hurry. Quick, use cut to get to the top of the cliff!” Greninja bounced up and clung to the wall using its water kunai. It ran up as fast as it could, rock breaking with each and every stab.
Park was carried high into the air. A pulse of electricity ran through his body. Unbearable rage ran through his mind, causing him to grind his teeth so hard they could’ve cracked. Remembering what the vine does to people, he used all his will power to shake it off. He then unsheathed his survival knife and stabbed the vine, causing the monster to squeal in pain. The vine quickly rushed to the monster's mouth as it tried to eat him. Park planted both his feet on the vine and pulled with all his might, severing the tip and changing his trajectory. The monster mistakenly ate the severed vine. Park used the knife to cling onto the side of the monster's face. As Park held onto the bucking monster, a red crystalline eye stared at him.
“Oh, pretty sure you won’t be needing that!” he stabbed it, crushing the eye into dust. The monster howled in pain. Park got a few more stabs in before a huge force sent him tumbling all the way back to the street below.
Blue had rushed back into battle. “Cursed creature! Your tyranny ends here!” He charged in again cloaked in green energy. The monster was sick of Blue at this point. It trained the two other heads to attack it head on. Blue simply bashed them aside, causing them to crash through the buildings on either side of the street. The monster met Blue’s attack with a giga impact headbutt of its own. The clash made the ground beneath them break away significant as the air surged with power. However, the two heads came wrapped around Blue’s body.
“What th-!” The heads whipped around and smashed Blue’s head through the ground. They then dragged it through several buildings, splintering wood as they tore through. They held Blue right over the monsters and dropped it straight into its vicious jaws. Blue wailed in pain, both through telepathy and it’s physical roar. Red negative energy flashed across Blue’s body like veins.
Park saw what was happening from the ground. “Azumarill! Use hydro pump and save Zygarde!” Azumarill shot a huge surge of water from its mouth, but the Dragalge head erupted into an aqua tail and countered the attack. Quickly, it pushed back, whipping Azumarill into the air. The Yanmega head upped its game too by slamming down upon Nuzleaf, who had to catch it to avoid serious damage. The head pushed harder however and sent Nuzleaf straight through the roof, crashing upon the ground below.
“Nuzleaf! No!” yelled Warner. He whipped out his survival knife and began slashing at the vine. Another vine bashed his abdomen and sent him flying through a roof two buildings down.
Greninja had just reached the top of the sheer cliff and saw what was going down. Azumarill was about to be hit by a following aqua tail slam high in the air, The Yanmega head burst out of the building and was charging up a full strength signal beam right above Nuzleaf, and Blue was writhing in pain in between to tortuous jaws of the main mega Tyranitar monster.
“We have to try to make it!” said the voice. Greninja began sliding down the slope that the cliff made. Deep down though, they both knew they couldn’t make it to them in time.
Then, the unexpected. An ice beam froze the Dragalge head in place mid aqua tail and a flamethrower stunned and left it writhing in pain as it burned. Greninja turned to see a helicopter approaching, tailed by a Glalie and a Volcarona.
Park saw this too and knew who it was. “Sup boss,” he groaned, “Things are going just fine at work.”
In the pilot seat sat Slaughter, an admin of Team Harmonious. He was bald and had quite a muscular build. A serious expression, shades, and a leather jacket over the normal Team Harmonious wear exemplified that role.
He turned back and said with a deep voice, “Hymina! You are permitted to use live fire!’
A single female grunt sat in the back of the chopper. “What? Are you sure?” she asked.
“I’ll deal with the consequences after. Our brothers have been fighting for we don’t know how long, so it’s about time we come with the save!”
Hymina smiled, “Yes sir!” She slid the side door open as Slaughter began to go for a strafe. From the side, Hymina pulled out a makeshift mounted machine gun. She cocked the gun once, heavy metal clacking back and forth.
Azumarill recovered and rushed to the aid of Park. Nuzleaf burst through what remained of the window of the building it was crushed in and went to Park in search of Warner. Park brought himself to his feet and watched as the heads recovered. The Dragalge head flexed hard and shattered its ice prison. The Yanmega head dipped itself into the water and emerged completely extinguished. The two heads then slithered on the ground towards Park then raising their head intimidatingly over him.
Hymina smirked while aiming through the sights of the machine gun. “I’ll put you in the dirt you freak of nature!” The machine burst to life, firing tracers at a steady pace into the two heads. “Glalie, use ice beam!” she yelled while firing.”
“Volcarona, use flamethrower!” shouted Slaughter. Both Pokémon launched their attacks side by side with the flying bullets. Each impact sounded like bits of tree trunks tearing apart. Then the two attacks hit and exploded, sending the heads crashing through the buildings. The main monster refused to acknowledge them however, still opting to munch on its Zygarde snack. Slaughter tsked, “Look at us damn it.”
Then a giant water shuriken flew over Park, spinning fast with a metallic sheen sound. It collided with the monster's head, making it reel back in pain and releasing Blue.
“Fiend!” shouted Blue. “Face my full wrath!” It pierced its tail straight through the chest of the monster. It then began to glow orange, resulting in a large explosion so large it knocked back Blue behind Park.
Greninja finally caught up to Park and slid to a halt. “Did we get it?” asked the voice in its head. Greninja couldn’t see any negative energy from where the monster stood. Everyone stared on to see if it was gone. Then Greninja saw the negative energy reemerge from the ground. It told everyone to watch out. As they jumped away, a dark pulse shot through the smoke. It tore through the entire street and kicked up dust everywhere. Once everyone landed back on their feet, the monster roared with such ferocity that it blew all the dust away, revealing the major damage it had taken. An eye was scratched out, the side were clawed at, and it was ripped almost in half down the right shoulder and abdomen.
Blue picked itself back back up. “Come on! Is there no end to this things persistence!?”
The monster roared again, recalling the two heads to its side. Mid roar however, flew whizzed into its face. Hymina was on the offensive again. The monster finally acknowledged the helicopter and shot a dark pulse along with signal beam and dragon pulse from the heads. The three attacks combined into a spiral, turning any bullets that flew into it into dust.
Slaughter put the helicopter in full throttle, but saw that the attack was too big to dodge. “Jump!” he shouted.
“Got it!” cried Hymina in a panic. The two bailed just as the attack collided with the helicopter. The two emerged from the smoke, Hymina screaming and Slaughter falling calmly. Volcarona caught Slaughter and Glalie caught Hymina. She hugged Glalie’s horn in great gratitude. “Oh praise Arceus! it's so cool to have you as my partner!” The two flew down to Park and the others as the fiery remains of the helicopter crashed down, setting Tuviere ablaze once more.
“What is going on here?” Slaughter asked Park.
“Was on patrol, Zygarde showed up to fight this monster that appeared out of nowhere, been getting our asses kicked ever since.” answered Park.
“Hmm.” Slaughter hopped off Volcarona. “Let’s take it down! Here and now!”
“I can say that’s challenging at the very least.”
“I am an advocate for Team Harmonious. We know that to change this world for the better, we must face those who wish to challenge us and overcome them. This is no different. Team Harmonious shall take on its greatest challenge yet. Take down this monster and show everyone what we’re capable of!”
“Such a cool speech sir!” said Hymina. She hopped off Glalie, “I’ll help too!”
Park faced the monster. “You ready for this Azumarill?” Azumarill gave a determined nod. Nuzleaf found that Warner was still nowhere to be found, but still put its hands up ready for action. Park noticed this and began to feel concerned for Warner.
Greninja eyed the monster and noticed something. “You see that too right?” asked the voice in its head. Greninja nodded. They saw Red contained within a red glass globe. Red wasn’t in pain or even unconscious, but attentive. It’s eye darted around as if it was watching something. “Squishy! We have to save it! Ready Greninja?” Greninja grabbed the giant water shuriken on its back and threw it at the monster's exposed wound. The Yanmega head acted quickly and took the hit instead, sending it into a daze. Greninja timed how long it took before it recovered, ten seconds. More than enough time.
“Hmph, to think I would get the chance to see the one and only Ash-Greninja,” said Slaughter.
“You know who we are?” ask Greninja and the voice in unison.
“I don’t know why you’re here, but care to help us out?”
“Yeah! Let’s do it!” Greninja told it’s plan to the Pokémon, who all agreed to it. Greninja rushed forward. The heads whipped around for the counter attack.
“What is it planning?” asked Hymina. Her question was answered when Glalie and Azumarill launched an ice beam and hydro pump into the Yanmega head, knocking it away. Letting Greninja run unchallenged
“Understood.” said Slaughter. “Volcarona, use flamethrower!” Volcarona spewed out a beam of flames. Nuzleaf followed up by launching an energy ball. They hit the Dragalge head hard enough to make it fall in the ruined buildings in a daze. Greninja ran full speed ahead.
“Ready?!” asked the voice. Greninja nodded with determination. “Now, use cut!” Greninja formed water kunai in each of its heads and jumped straight through the partially regenerated wound on the monster. Inside it was dark and the walls pulsed with veins full of negative energy. Greninja saw Red in the glass globe, but the voice pointed out something. “Take out its source of energy first so that way it stops regenerating!” Greninja looked down to see the telltale look of a hate well, the largest and most sophisticated it has ever seen. Nonetheless, it dug its kunai into it, ripping and tearing the veins of energy apart. Finally, the well was destroyed. The monster roared in agony and became inactive.
“Stay down, foul creature.” said Blue. “Be reclaimed by the earth.” Everyone else watched anxiously awaiting the true sign of defeat.
“Now for Squishy.” Greninja tore the glass globe from the red vines that kept it in place. It broke the side of it and pulled out Red, who was completely untouched or harmed. It was still dazed however. Then the wall contracted violently, startling Greninja. The wound opened up even wider and giant red vine teeth grew along the edges. Greninja jumped out to safety before the massive jaws clamped down on it.
Red was put out of its daze. “W-What the, where am I? Greninja, why did you-” It noticed the monster below. “Ugh! What Arceus’s great green earth is that?!”
The monster roared out of its mega Tyranitar mouth and newly formed mouth wound. It was then that Greninja, Red, and Blue heard a voice in their heads. “So that’s how you wanna play huh? You guys wanna play games, I’LL SHOW YOU GAMES!” The voice was unfamiliar and faint, but still carried an amount of ferocity to it.
“Take it down!” said the voice in Greninja’s head. Greninja shouted as loud as it could while drawing the giant shuriken on its back. It spun around twice, each one doubling the size of the water shuriken, and threw it with all its might. The shuriken spun furiously through the air, embedding itself in the newly formed mouth wound. The force shoved the monster into the ground.
“Now everyone! Finish it off!” commanded Slaughter.
A person limped up behind them. “Don’t cut me out of all the fun.” Warner was back and he stood hunched over. Nuzleaf was elated to see him back.
“Hah! Never!” said Slaughter with a smirk. Everyone eyed down the monster. “Now Volcarona, use flamethrower!”
“Glalie, ice beam!” shouted Hymina.
“Azumarill, hydro pump!” shouted Park.
“Nuzleaf, give it all you got! Use energy ball!” shouted Warner.
All the Pokémon launched their respective full power attacks. They all combined to form a spiraling ball of energy.
“This will end it!” shouted Blue. It launched out a dragon pulse so large it pushed Blue back like it had just fired a railgun and easily doubled the size of the combined attack.
The heads attempted to protect the main monster, but the both of them vaporized under the sheer power of the attack. The monster gave off one last roar before the attack collided with embedded shuriken. The resulting explosion was so massive that it cleared what remained of the port of all ocean water. The smoke billowed up and could be seen for miles. The roaring winds had everyone struggle to stay on their feet.
Finally, the winds died down and the smoke blew away. Park and Warner collapsed to the ground in exhaustion.
“What? You guys are tired already?” teased Hymina.
“You try doing what we did for the last twenty minutes and see how you fair!” snapped back Warner. Hymina laughed.
“Keep your guard up, we still don’t know if it was defeated or not.” said Slaughter, heading into the blast zone. Park and Warner groaned. Warner tried to get up but the pain in his back kept him on the ground.
“Damn it, I can’t move around like this.” Warner groaned.
Slaughter stopped for a moment. “Park!”
“Yes sir!” said Park, standing upright.
“Tend to Warner. Use what you can to patch him up. And lest you want to go into the helicopter crash site to look for that first aid kit, I suggest calling an ambulance.”
“On it!” Park went to tend to Warner with Azumarill and Nuzleaf.
“Hymina, you’re with me.”
“Yep yep.” The two walked towards the blast site.
As they got closer, the dust and smoke still hadn't cleared up enough for them to see clearly. That is when Blue moved up behind them and used its power to blow it all away.
“Hymina! Stop!” shouted Slaughter. Hymina stopped to see that she was about to walk over the edge of the ruined docks into the crashing waves below.
Hymina stumbled back. “Oh, good call. Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. Now, where’s the body?”
“Don’t you think it was completely disintegrated, sir?”
“We have to make sure. You search left and I’ll search right.”
“Got it.”
Volcarona and Glalie took to the skies to search from above. Blue stood still watching the waves looking for Greninja and Red.
“Hymina! Over here!” called Slaughter. Hymina ran over to see what Slaughter wanted. There she found the severed head of the monster embedded upright in the rubble, lifeless.
Hymina was unsettled. “Ha, I suppose we can call this another job well done-” Hymina got too close and the head whipped back to life and tried to eat her leg. She jumped back scared out of her life. Slaughter stepped forward, drew a pistol, and shot the head eight times followed by two clicks from the gun.
The head finally drew its last breath and spoke a phrase only heard by Blue. “Must you be so naïve! You say nothing but a child’s… fantasy…” The light in its remaining eye grew dark.
“T-Thanks for the save there, again.” said Hymina, shaken.
Slaughter remained silent, holstering his pistol. He went for a touch of one of the stray vines, but was stopped when a small water shuriken whacked the side of the head. Greninja stood before them, looking stern, as if telling them that they couldn’t touch it.
“What for?” asked Slaughter.
“This thing is a great pain that occurred in Kalos.” explained Blue, who had moved up behind them. “It would take a great deal of negative energy to form something like this. And much much more for it to take a shape such as this. There is much that even we don’t know. What we do know is that we must torch what remains so as to not send the people of Kalos into a panic.” Slaughter looked at blue for a moment, then he started walking away.
“Sir? Don’t we want to take a sample, that way we can figure out how to combat more of them in the future?’ asked Hymina.
“I am not going to be the one to argue with the legendary Pokémon of order. We will tend to Warner and we must speak to Armageddon as soon as possible. We have much to discuss.” Hymina sighed and walked away with him. Glalie and Volcarona followed.
Blue turned to Greninja, “Have you found brother?” Greninja nodded and held out his hand with Red standing tall on it. Blue peered down its big head. “Brother, are you alright?”
“Oh I’m more than alright Blue. I finally have answers… and confirmation!” explained Red.
“Confirmation?”
“The Dreamwalker is real. And his name, is Ceailean.”

Part II: The Mission
There in the shadows made by the leaves stood Crisis. His expression was serious as he looked around to make sure he was alone. He dialed a number in his phone and called it. After a few rings, the line connected.
“Hey, I got your text.” said Crisis. A moment of silence passed.
“Are you alone?” asked Armageddon from the other side.
“I suppose you could say this weather is nice.” Another moment of silence.
“Crisis.” greeted Armageddon, “How goes your mission?”
“The targets haven’t demonstrated any significant abnormal behavior ever since my inclusion to the group.”
“I see. That’s too bad.”
“In all respects sir, this is a waste of time. I need to be back in HQ to figure out more about the mural.”
“You know as well as I do that I can’t let you do that. Miskivin has finally been active ever since we spoke their names. We are still so early on in the process, and you must contribute what you can.”
“I contribute nothing here.”
“That is still of yet to be figured out.”
Crisis sighed. “And what of Tuviere? Have we found out anything over there?”
“Not of any significance to Ceailean, Marie, or Miskivin. I had just sent Slaughter to do one last final sweep of the area. Afterwards, we will withdraw to avoid suspicion.”
“Understood.” Crisis remained silent for a moment. “H-How’s Meowstic?” Another moment of silence followed.
“I still fear for its well being. Even after a week and a half it still remains silent.” Crisis could hear Armageddon's voice grow shaky. “The doctors say that this is something that can happen to psychics if they release too much power than their bodies can handle. They say the coma can range from 2-4 weeks, but there are some rare cases of psychic overexertion where they could remain in a coma indefinitely or come out uh, mentally challenged.”
“Oh, I’m sorry to hear that.”
“This was my fault. I made it talk to that… that thing!” sobbed Armageddon.
“Please, you must understand the circumstances! Meowstic did what it did willingly to give us a chance to unlock the gift that Pokémon holds. If what Professor Jamaica researched is true, then it would be the greatest gift that humanity has ever received since Arceus’s blessing.” Silence.
“Crisis, I oh so hope you’re right.”
Crisis smiled bitterly. Then an explosion sounded out through the forest. Crisis looked to see a big dust cloud over the treetops and fleeing Fletchling. “Listen, I’m in a situation right now. I’ll report back on the scheduled time next week. I wish you the best Armageddon.”
“As do I.”
Crisis hung up and released Decidueye from its pokeball. “Decidueye, you remember the plan from earlier right?” It nodded. “I’d like you to intervene at any point where you think you need to.” It nodded again and flew off towards the dust cloud.
Crisis clenched his fist. “Ceailean, Marie. Why does Miskivin only respond to you two alone?” Crisis put aside the question for now and ran towards the dust cloud as well.
