Chapter 30: Here and Now
What was that? A man? He’s laughing. He took something, something that I want. Now he’s leaving. Where do you think you’re going!? Come back-!
“Scorbunny, use blaze kick and get that crown off his head!” Scorbunny ran in for the kick. Solga quickly shook himself out of his trance and backed away, smoothly dodging every subsequent kick.
“Gurdurr! Restrain him!” ordered Crisis. Gurdurr charged in an effort to get Solga in a headlock with it’s beam.
“Gimme a break.” mumbled Solga. He snaked away from Gurdurr’s grasp and pushed it away. “Sewaddle! Where are you? Sure would be great if I could continue to use my precognition to aid your battle prowess!”
“Keep dreaming buddy!” said Ceailean, “Scorbunny, bounce!” Scorbunny jumped up high and came straight down aiming for Solga’s head.
“Please.” Solga reached into his pocket and threw out stun spores.
Ceailean gasped, “Watch out!” It was too late, Scorbunny flew through the cloud of spores and tumbled on the ground. “Scorbunny! You okay?” It struggled to get back up but assured Ceailean that it could keep going.
“This fight is pointless. Why don’t you call your girlfriend to come face me herself?”
“I’m confident in what I do.” Ceailean said calmly.
“You’ll never catch me, don’t you understand! You could try for days upon days and you’d never touch me!”
“Then why-” Ceailean got an idea. “Hm, maybe that’s the plan.”
“What?”
“Simple,” explained Crisis, “A war of attrition. You may have acquired precognition but that is the extent of the crown’s power. No further supernatural abilities, no increase to you as a person.”
“What does that matter? Who’s to say that your Pokémon won’t wear out faster than I will?”
“Because you’re getting desperate.” remarked Ceailean.
“Oh? And what has brought upon this insinuation?”
“You’re trying to dissuade us, you’re calling out for Sewaddle, and you look a lot worse than you did ten minutes ago.”
“I crashed through a flower cart! What’s your excuse!?”
“Gurdurr now!” shouted Crisis. Gurdurr appeared behind Solga and went for the grab. Solga then slid under its legs and quickly backed away.
“I see everything! Did you not hear?”
“I did, but seemed to have missed the part where I don't care.” said Ceailean. Solga growled at this statement. Ceailean then leaned towards Crisis, “I have a new idea.”
“What? Already? And you still haven’t elaborated on the last one.”
“It’ll be plan B for now. I want to test a theory. Something he said made me think of something that could make this easier.”
“What in that pile of incessant showboating did you find out?” Ceailean smiled at him. “Right. ‘More fun that way' as you say.”
“Just distract him,” Ceailean crouched down, “I’ll choose my moment.”
“I ask that you do not remain single minded. Scorbunny is eager to go.”
Ceailean looked to see Scorbunny stood up looking like it could blast off at any minute, despite the yellow electricity sparking around its body. “You’re right. Scorbunny, you’re so cool. Let’s bring back something we haven’t used in a while. Scorbunny! Use quick attack!” Scorbunny rushed in.
“Gurdurr, support it with fling.” It threw its beam like a spear.
Solga sidestepped away from the beam. Scorbunny then jumped over it as it skidded by and went for the attack. Solga merely ducked under it. Being careful to not be noticed, Ceailean picked up a clump of dirt from the ground.
He stood up and said, “Scorbunny, quick attack again!”
“Use bulk up and charge through him!” ordered Crisis.
Ceailean waited until Solga was facing away from him, then he threw the clump of dirt at Solga. It broke up into dust on Solga’s back and it appeared he didn’t even feel it.
“Is this what we’re resorting to now?” asked Crisis.
“Maybe, but what did you notice?”
Crisis looked closer and he gained a look of realization. “You made contact!”
“Seems like it.”
“Allow me to test this.” Crisis picked up his own clump of dirt and threw it at Solga. In an instant, he turned around and caught it.
“What? We getting bored? And I thought someone of your stature would be more sophisticated!” taunted Solga, grinding the dirt to dust.
“Gurdurr, use slam!” Gurdurr reacquired its beam and went in for the attack.
----------------------------------------
() As the battle continued on, Sewaddle paid close attention to Ceailean and Crisis. It could tell that they were up to something. But there were too many enemies in the way. Marie, Officer Jenny, Fennekin, Snom, and Manectric all stood firm.
“Come on Sewaddle!” encouraged Solga from a distance, “If anyone can do this it’s you!” Time was ticking and nothing was getting done. Then, an opportunity came. “Now Sewaddle!” At first it had a split second of confusion only for Manectric’s front legs to give out. Sewaddle immediately took this chance to shoot a string in an effort to swing past them.
“You fell for it,” said Officer Jenny, “Now, psychic fangs!” Manectric jumped up and chomped down on the string and flung Sewaddle back where it came.
“Damn it all.” mumbled Solga, resuming his avoidance of attacks.
Before Sewaddle could get back up, Manectric ran up behind it. Now it was completely surrounded. It had no choice but to wait it out again.
“Is… that… the best… you got.” said Solga stubbornly.
“You don’t get it do you?” said Ceailean, “You lost! Give it up! Stop wasting our time.”
Solga pointed at his crown, his arms twitching. “I am the one with the crown! I can see everything! I will not be talked down to by a child! An immature wimp! Someone who can’t even comprehend the evils and wrong doings I’ve seen! What I’ve lived through!”
“I know what the world is like. I’ve seen far too much of its dark rabbit holes. But why resort to this? What could possibly motivate you to become a criminal?”
“Is it not obvious? If you’ve seen what I’ve seen, you would already know! My life has spiraled farther and farther out of my control to the point where I can’t trust anyone anymore! So I said enough! This was my time now! This time my life is mine to control! Everyone deceits, everyone lies, why not just become like them?!”
“You would choose chaos over unity?” asked Crisis.
“What unity? That pretense everyone shares when they are around each other? Please! Everyone knows we only put it up to tolerate each other! Forever our minds will be poisoned with selfish want! If everyone were to go on without ridicule from society, they would naturally become evil! I have seen their ‘passion’! It is endless. Tell me, admin of Team Harmonious. Just what persona are you putting up? What is it you truly desire?”
“I desire unity.” Crisis said sternly, “Above all else.”
“And what is your purpose here in order to pursue such a lost cause?”
Crisis remained silent.
“Scorbunny, quick attack!” shouted Ceailean. Scorbunny flew up to Solga’s head. He turned and grabbed it by the throat. “Scorbunny! Put it down!”
“Gurdurr, slam!” Crisis quickly ordered.
“Think again!” Solga held Scorbunny towards Gurdurr, using it like a shield. Gurdurr slid to a stop, still poised for a strike. Scorbunny was wreathing around trying to breathe. “Let this be a testament to my statement. I can see everything-” Scorbunny yelled as loud as it could, telling Gurdurr to attack. Gurdurr remained hesitant. Solga took a closer look at Scorbunny. “My, how honorable of you. Now this is the kind of behavior I believe a Pokémon would have at the Battle of Tuviere.” He then slammed it against the wall. Scorbunny gasped for air as Gurdurr took a step closer, gritting its teeth. “You best start believing in monsters, little Scorbunny. Tuviere is only the tip of the iceberg.” Scorbunny then saw a blur move behind Solga. Ceailean gripped the crown and yanked Solga to the ground. “You bastard! Where did you come from?!”
Ceailean twisted his legs around Solga’s neck. “You can’t see me!” He then began tugging at the crown as hard as he could. Purple sparks began flashing out and orange shavings were piling up on Ceailean’s jacket.
Solga cries were wailing as if he were possessed by a spirit, reverberating across the air. “You! Get away!”
“Not till you see that what you’re doing is wrong!”
“See?! I can see everything! I can see, I can see, I can… see.” Solga went limp. Ceailean raised his head to figure out what was going on only to immediately struggle to keep Solga in place. The crown's purple light was blinding now and shone through Solga’s skin like he was getting electrocuted. Scorbunny was thrown to the side violently.
“Scorbunny!” called Ceailean. It remained on the ground, coughing as it tried to get its breath back.
“Gurdurr, restrain him!” ordered Crisis. Gurdurr quickly Solga’s legs down with it’s beam.
“This... damn... thing… won’t… come off!” said Ceailean, struggling.
Crisis ran over, “Allow me to attempt!” He reached down and pulled as well. Both were unable to make it budge.
Vertant watched from afar and saw that Ceailean and Crisis were struggling. “M-Musharna, I’m sorry but I must see what is wrong. Stay here and rest, I’ll be back soon.” It weakly nodded as he ran off.
Sewaddle watched in horror what was happening to Solga. It cried out for him, now with tears in its eyes.
Marie checked to see what was happening. “By Arceus, what the heck is happening?”
Sewaddle could not stand still any longer. It shot a string on Marie's back and tugged hard, making her fall on the ground. It flew through the air and aimed to land a flail on the distracted Fennekin, only for Snom to jump in the way. It took a brutal hit that sent it flying through a window on the other side of the street.
Marie gasped. “Snom!” Fennekin pushed back Sewaddle with a howl.
“Now Manectric! Quick attack!” shouted Officer Jenny. Manectric jumped up from behind. Sewaddle quickly strung up its neck and tugged it down on it’s head, making it yelp in pain. “Now use thunderbolt from right there!” As it slid across the ground, Manectric shot a thunderbolt. The shock fried Sewaddle up as it yelled in pain. “That’s enough Sewaddle! Stop hurting yourself!”
Sewaddle only grit its teeth and kept pushing. It shot a silver wind at Manectric, staggering it.
Marie picked herself back up. “Don’t let it get away Fennekin! Use scratch!” Fennekin rushed ahead with hugly large claws. “Go!” The two Pokémon exchanged attacks hoping to get the big hit in. Sewaddle then jumped up high and used silver wind. “Intercept it with psybeam!” Fennekin shot and canceled out the silver wind with a huge explosion ensuing. The dust didn’t stay for long as Sewaddle then exploded with energy, blowing it all away. “Oh no-!” Marie didn’t have time to react as Sewaddle rocketed forwards and flailed into Fennekin hard. “I got you!” Fennekin flew into Marie’s arms, sending them both back an extra few feet.

Marie coughed away the impact on her chest. “You okay?” Fennekin opened its eyes and nodded with determination. Sewaddle grunted at the fact that Fennekin still wasn’t down yet. Manectric then appeared behind it again.
“Psychic fangs!” Officer Jenny shouted. Pink ethereal fangs appeared and chomped down. Sewaddle jumped up high just in time and retaliated with a silver wind, slamming down on Manectric.
“It can’t move in the air! Use psybeam!” urged Marie. Fennekin shot its blue beam. Sewaddle used string shot to dodge it. “Don’t let it get away!” Fennekin rapidly fired psybeams, but Sewaddle kept bobbing and weaving. At last, it felt so close to getting to Solga. It was barely over him when from a flash in the sky came Noibat rushing down, knocking Sewaddle into the ground hard. When Noibat’s energy dissipated, it bounced back and landed on its feet.
“Noibat? I thought you were with C.” said Marie. Noibat shook its head and pointed to the sky. “You were watching the whole time?” It nodded. “Well good job on your part, you did great!” Noibat nodded more confidently and crossed it’s wings. Sewaddle struggled to get its head up. It wasn’t over yet. It could still fight. A vibrant green energy radiated from its body. It then aimed right at Noibat and launched a huge silver wind. Noibat’s jaw dropped as the attack hit. The explosion was so large that it shook the very ground everyone was standing on. Noibat flew back in a tailspin, landing right next to Musharna.
“Swarm?” observed Marie. “Then that means Sewaddle doesn't have much left! We can do it Fennekin, let’s win!”
“Thunderbolt!” shouted Officer Jenny. Manectric shot a thunderbolt past Marie and Fennekin towards Sewaddle. Sewaddle gathered up all it’s remaining strength and pushed back the attack. It hit Manectric and sent it tumbling down the road. Officer Jenny ran over and caught it before it could tumble any further.
“Officer Jenny! Is Manectric okay?”
“Yeah, I just got eager.” She looked down to see Manectric had fainted. “I’m sorry Manectric, please forgive me.” She returned Manectric to it’s pokeball.
Sewaddle then shot two consecutive silver winds at Fennekin, which it barely dodged with two small side steps.
Noibat opened its eyes and looked around. Marie and Fennekin were so far away now. It jumped up in order to assist but noticed Musharna. It walked over and asked if it was okay. Musharna was hurt but still able. Noibat then started ranting on, coming up with a suggestion and imitating it with its wings and sound effects. Musharna was perplexed to say the least, but was willing to hear out what it had to say.
Fennekin blocked Sewaddle’s flail with its large claws. Sewaddle pushed hard, making Fennekin slide back. “Use howl from right there!” shouted Marie. Fennekin howled loudly, staggering Sewaddle a bit. “Now scratch!” Fennekin’s claws grew ever larger and sent Sewaddle sliding back with a double cross slash. Sewaddle remained persistent and stood tall. It prepared to launch a silver wind. “Dodge it!” However, an icy wind from the side stopped Sewaddle. As it fell to the ground, Marie looked to see Snom looking miffed. It shook off the glass from its icy exterior and flew over to Marie’s side. “Welcome back, Snom.” she said with a smile.
Sewaddle laid there coughing. The world was blurry and everything hurt so much. Oh how it wished everything could just go away. But the constant screams from Solga kept filling it with determination. Solga trusted nobody. Nobody but Sewaddle. This was its last chance to not betray that trust. Sewaddle slowly stood up again.
Marie watched this go on and couldn't help but feel incredibly sad for it. “Sewaddle please.” Sewaddle didn’t listen. “It’s over.” It kept standing. “We can make this right!” Sewaddle huffed her suggestion away and charged up a silver wind. “Come on! Why are you so stubborn?” Sewaddle kept looking ahead, panting heavily. It’s vibrant green energy flickered as its mind wandered
Past events flashed through its mind. The first time it met Solga in the forest, the bond they grew, the orphanage. This is what it was fighting for. The only reason to keep going in life. Sewaddle shot out a sliver wind in desperation.
“Intercept it with psybeam!” Fennekin canceled out the attack with psybeam. Sewaddle pleaded into the air hoping the next attack would work. “Icy wind!” The next attack was intercepted by icy wind. Sewaddle then cried out to the heavens. Another surge of power exploded out as Sewaddle launched its biggest silver wing yet. “Another silver wind boost? Quick, both of you intercept it!” Fennekin and Snom prepared their attacks but then a single heartbeat pulsed through Fennekin’s head. It almost collapsed on the spot.
“Fennekin? What’s happening?” asked Marie urgently. Snom launched its attack without Fennekin. It deflected off the silver wind as if it were like a wall. Fennekin then emitted purple bubbles from it’s head. “That’s right! You’re still poisoned! But-” Marie looked at the oncoming attack and moved quickly. She grabbed Fennekin and Snom and used her body to shield the both of them. The attack washed through Marie, feeling like wind full of razor sharp needles. Snom and Fennekin voice their concerns, pleading for her to stop.
“It’s okay you two!” she grunted. “I’m never leaving you guys behind again! I swear it.” She gave them both a quick smile of confidence before enduring the pain even further.
Noibat asked Musharna if it was ready. Musharna practically rolled it’s eyes, seeing that the plan was dodgy at best. It held up Noibat with it’s psychic power. Noibat had its wings spread out, looking like it was on top of an aircraft carrier. 1, 2, 3, go! Musharna launched Noibat as hard as it could. It soared through the air at such speed it parted the dust on the ground. At first the speed was too much as Noibat almost fumbled up, but when it exploded into dragon rush it focused up and aimed straight for Sewaddle. It didn’t even notice until Noibat hit it with such force that it soared past Marie and spiraled high into the sky.
“Noibat?” said Marie, shocked. The purple streak was visible for a few more seconds until Noibat dissipated its energy and went into freefall. Sewaddle, though in major pain, still found strength to charge up another attack. Noibat scoffed at its persistence and leveled out in the air.. “We gotta help it, you two! Be ready to put everything you have into one shot!” She placed both her Pokémon down. Fennekin shook off its fatigue and stood ready. “Fennekin, can you still use ember?” Fennekin huffed hot embers into the ground, indicating that it could. “Great! Let’s pull out our staple move!”
Sewaddle charged its attack as fast as it could, but it was taking so long now. Noibat didn’t wait around though. It used screech and sent an ear piercing sound Sewaddle’s way, disrupting it. Noibat then flew up fast and restrained it from behind. Sewaddle began panicking as it tried to struggle out of Noibat’s grasp, but it remained firm. Noibat then exploded into dragon rush and urged Marie to attack.
The two fell like a meteor of spiraling purple and green energy. Marie reached up to her head, only to then realize that her beanie was still gone. She instead brushed her hair to the side and said, “This is it you guys! Use ember and icy wind!” Fennekin and Snom charged up their attacks and shot them full force. The embers and ice crystals swirled around each other as they combined into one big attack. Sewaddle could only watch in horror as the light came closer, eventually colliding with such a force that the nearby windows shuddered violently. The ember and crystals spun around and exploded over the whole street, raining softly on the ground. Noibat and Sewaddle then fell from the cloud. Noibat used its dragon rush energy to cushion Sewaddle’s fall, dispersing it like a splat once they hit the ground.
“Did we do it?” asked Marie. She walked over to investigate.
----------------------------------------
() Ceailean and Crisis continued to struggle getting the crown off of Solga. Vertant came up behind them. “What’s going on?”
“Thing’s practically glued to his head! I can’t get it off!” explained Ceailean as he struggled.
“I can confirm that it is being quite stubborn!” said Crisis.
Vertant threw his hands on his head in a panic. “By Arceus! We gotta do something! We gotta figure something out!”
“Figure something out?” Ceailean mumbled. “I got something! Not sure if it’ll work but it’s something at least!”
“I’m open to everything right now!” assured Vertant.
Ceailean took hold of the crown and looked into it, Solga’s seemingly singed hair on the inside. He began reciting:
F-Forever grateful for what we have
Forever in debt for our gift of life
Forever wanting for something more
Forever looking for what’s past our mortal strife
“What are you doing?” asked Vertant.
Ceailean ignored him. “Crown! Tell me! Who do I become?” The world slowed down to a crawl. A mirror appeared on top of the crown. What was he seeing? A cliff? Snow? Where is this? Then a figure appeared at the edge of the cliff. It slowly turned its head towards Ceailean, its entire body covered in shadow in front of the gloriously beautiful blue moon. Then Ceailean could see the figure's eye. It shined green in bright contrast to the shadow. Then suddenly the mirror snapped ahead and showed the figure walking off the cliff, falling from view. A deep dread filled Ceailean. A voice began echoing louder and louder repeating a single phrase. Then Ceailean said it himself, his eyes becoming red and trance-like as he did so, “I’m not helping you. It isn’t me.”
Marie’s combined attack then exploded overhead, causing Solga to immediately regain control of himself. The world went back to normal. The crown electrocuted Ceailean’s hands, making him lose his grip.
“Get off me! What have you done to Sewaddle!” cried out Solga. The purple energy then became infected with red energy. The mirror spiraled so violently that it splintered away. Solga elbowed Ceailean in the abdomen, freeing his grip on Solga. He then quickly sat up and dug his hands under Gurdurr’s beam. “Get away from me!” he growled through his teeth at Gurdurr. His eyes flashed red, causing Gurdurr to lose its composure and stumble back in fear. Solga pried the beam off his legs and stumbled towards Sewaddle.
“I'm coming, Sewaddle! I can see again! I can see-”
Crisis pursued him, “You’re not getting away-!”
“No! Get back!” exclaimed Ceailean. Crisis stopped dead in his tracks right as the crown began to glow so brightly that it was blinding. The whirring noise it made was enough to make everyone cover their ears. Ceailean curled up on the ground in pain until saw Marie walking towards Sewaddle.
“Marie! Watch out!” Marie barely even turned around to see Solga approaching.
“I...can...see-” The crown exploded into a burst of red energy and yellow lightning. The force was so great that it sent Ceailean and everyone else tumbling down the road. The glass of the nearby buildings shattered, the light burned their eyes, and the wind ripped through the street. As the explosion died down, Ceailean slowly opened his eyes. He then remembered something.
“Marie! Marie, are you okay!” he shouted. He eagerly awaited a response.
“C?” called Marie, “Y-Yeah, I’m okay!” Ceailean took a huge sigh of relief. “Snom protected me with struggle bug! You shoulda seen it!”
“I’ll take your word for it.”
Marie bent down and picked up the seemingly exhausted Snom. “You saved me again.” she told it with a smile, “Thank you so much.” Snom blushed and slouched down on her palm. Fennekin came out from behind Marie’s legs and thanked it as well. Marie let Snom rest on the top of her head and looked around. She saw Solga only a few feet away from her. “By Arceus.”
A grim thought came across Ceailean’s mind. “Y-You don’t think I killed him, do you?”
Crisis lifted himself off the ground. “Let us not be quick to make such assumptions. We must confirm first.”
“R-Right.”
Marie looked down on Solga. “Such a shame.” she said to herself. She then turned and noticed Sewaddle on the ground just a few steps away. She walked over to it and crouched down, running the back of her hand of it’s cheek. It was cool.
“Marie!” called out Officer Jenny.
Marie then felt a hand clamp around her ankle. “Stay... away... from… Sewaddle!” Solga groaned. He looked like he hadn’t eaten in several days, almost zombie like. Marie screamed as she tripped over herself to get away from him. His grip remained tight however as he tried to crawl closer. The crown was shining very distorted colors and red cracks had appeared on its exterior.
Fennekin immediately sprang into action. It rushed forward with its claws outstretched and slashed at the crown as hard as it could. It swept past Solga’s face and he fell limp.
Marie quickly picked herself up, shivering at the thought of what Solga would’ve done.
“Marie!” called Officer Jenny once more. She ran up beside her. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah, yeah! Just dandy.”
Ceailean, Crisis, and Vertant ran up. Ceailean asked, “Marie, are you-”
“I just told Officer Jenny I was alright, C! You think my answer would change for you?”
Ceailean scratched the back of his head, “I guess.” He then began the chuckle. Then the group heard shuffling noises. Solga had crawled up to Sewaddle and curled around it. If he could tear up, he would. But the crown had taken too much out of him.
“Please.” he said with his voice full of sorrow, “Don’t… Don’t take Sewaddle away from me. I beg of you.”
“Can’t you do anything, Officer Jenny?” asked Marie.
“I can only make sure that he at least takes responsibility for his crimes. After that, I'm afraid it’s out of my hands.” she explained. She then looked at Vertant and placed her hands on her hips.
“Gotcha.” he said.
“Yes!” cheered Marie quietly, doing a little fist bump.
Vertant then observed Solga more closely. “Uh guys, where’s the crown?” Everyone looked to see that the crown was gone from Solga’s head.
“Where did it go?” asked Ceailean. Everyone looked around until Crisis noticed something.
“F-Fennekin has acquired the crown.” he pointed out in disbelief. Everyone then turned their eyes to Fennekin, making it slightly uncomfortable.
“Fennekin? The crown is around your ear.” Marie said shakily. Fennekin looked up curiously and saw that it was in fact around its ear. Then it began to move slowly.
“It’s trying to connect with your mind!” warned Vertant, “Throw it off!” Fennekin whipped its head in a panic, tossing the crown of its head. The crown skidded to a halt and burst with energy and light. It’s purple light looked like a portal or a vacuum as it sucked in red ethereal glass. Eventually, it stopped and emitted a red pulse through the ground. The crown then laid there completely dormant.
“What just happened?” asked Ceailean.
“Don’t know.” answered Vertant. He then walked over to the crown and touched it with his foot.
“Is the crown still dangerous?” asked Crisis.
Vertant then picked it up. “If anyone feels like wearing it, yeah. Other than that, it’s not even warm.” He showed it off to the group.
Officer Jenny gave a big sigh of relief and stretched her arms to the sky. “Oh man! Today was a ride wasn’t it?’
“You can say that again,” said Marie.
“But this was just half of my work done. There’s gonna be a lot of paperwork in order to explain that there was a criminal on the loose with a magic crown.” Everyone in the group chuckled slightly.
“Noi-bat!” groaned Noibat. Everyone looked to see Noibat walking over looking pretty beat up with twigs and leaves stuck to it.
“Whoa Noibat. What the heck happened to you?” asked Ceailean. Noibat impersonated an explosion and traced the air. “Oh, I guess Snom couldn’t cover everybody.”
Marie crouched next to it. “Aww, I’m so sorry. I'm sure Snom will save you from the next big explosion you’re caught in next time.” she said sarcastically. Noibat was unamused. Fennekin walked over and studied Noibat. It then ate a twig off of Noibat’s tuft of fur, causing it to blush slightly. “Fennekin? What’re you doing eating twigs?”
“Come on Marie, I thought you read it’s pokédex entry.” said Ceailean, “Fennekin's like to eat twigs in place of a snack.”
“Oh yeah! I forgot!”
“How? You were practically flaunting its entry at every given chance you could.”
“Oh shut it, C!”
Everyone in the group started laughing, but strangely, the world began to grow quiet. Fennekin felt happy, but its legs began to give out and it fell to the ground.
“Fennekin?” asked Marie, her voice extremely muffled. Fennekin eyes grew extremely heavy as a huge feeling of fatigue washed over its body. “It’s still poisoned! We need to-” Everyone’s words became indiscernible. The world then became black.
