Chapter 13: Battle For Justice

Chapter 13: Battle For Justice

Chapter 13: Battle for Justice

“-and then I found you here.” finished Ceailean.

“Hm, seems like you had it easy.” remarked Marie.

“I wouldn’t say that, you just had it a lot harder.”

They had moved into the safety of the forest. Marie lay against a tree with Fennekin resting in her lap and Snom in her beanie. Ceailean sat atop a rock nearby looking out for anyone that might find them. Scorbunny jumped across the tree branches to get a better view of the area.

“So what should we go for first, the truck or the boat?” asked Marie.

“I’d say the boat, I don’t want them to have a fast getaway just in case we fail at getting the truck.” answered Ceailean. Scorbunny came down from the trees to affirm his decision.

“Okay, I’ll be ready to go when you are.”

“Um, no.”

“Huh, what do you mean no? I’m here to help too.”

“I can’t let you, you’ve done your part already. Plus, you got hurt, I don’t want you to get hurt more.”

“What, were you just gonna leave me here?”

“That was my initial thought process, yes”

“Well, I can’t stay here. What if a wild Pokémon comes out and attacks me?”

“It would be better than those crooks getting a hold of you. Besides, you have Fennekin and Snom here to protect you.”

“I’m not letting you go by yourself.”

“The answer is no, Marie.”

“Well I veto your decision, I’m going-” She tried to pick herself up, only for the pain in her leg to force her back down.

“Stop hurting yourself, you're gonna make it worse.”

“I’m not gonna stop C, I’m going whether you like it or not.” She placed Fennekin to her side and pushed with her good leg against the tree to stand up. After considerable effort, Marie stood up fully, balancing on her good leg.

“Marie, come on, you can barely stand.”

“I’m fine, I can do this.” She pushed herself off the tree and slowly put weight on her bad leg. This caused her to grunt in pain and quickly alternate back to her good leg, taking a single step forward. Ceailean came over to offer his help when she began to lose her balance, only to be stopped when she held out her hand telling him to stop. “I-I got it” She tried to take another step, this time hitting a rock that made her fall.

Ceailean caught her mid fall and said, “Yeah, I don’t think you're going anywhere.” He laid her upon the forest floor.

“Whether or not you leave without me C, I’m gonna keep trying to go with you. You don’t know what’ll happen. Maybe I’ll hurt myself even more, or maybe create too much noise and those guys will find me anyway.”

“Manipulative little-. Don’t try and guilt trip me into this.”

Marie began to get a little dramatic. “Oh no, what would I ever do if I were to encounter those baddies by myself. Even if I didn’t, what if you couldn’t find me if you came back after saving the day. I’d be lost in this forest forever, never to be heard from again.” she said with a mischievous smile.

Ceailean sighed. “Fine, I’ll let you come with me.” he said through his teeth.

“Yay, now hurry and pick me up.”

“You’re not gonna enjoy this for too long, I hope you know that.”

“I’ll have fun while it lasts.”

Ceailean helped Marie up and began to walk on towards the port, when there was a sudden rustling in the bushes. Fennekin and Scorbunny quickly set their sights in the direction of it. They all watched in anticipation for what was inside, only for Wooper to pop out and greet itself to the group.

“A Wooper?” asked Marie. Fennekin breathed a sigh of relief and began to converse. After that, Wooper walked up Ceailean and offered up its support.

“Wait, you and Fennekin met before?” he asked. Wooper nodded. “So you’re willing to help us?” It nodded again. Ceailean and Marie looked to each other, then Ceailean asked, “Are you sure you’ll be able to get through the cages?” Wooper nodded vigorously. “Alright, I’ll believe in you. Listen, there should be a boat in the docks. It’s the only one there so you shouldn’t miss it. When you think it’s safe, I want you to free all the pokemon in those cages and get them to a safe place, okay?” Wooper gave one last nod of understanding and ran off into the bushes, giving a wink to the group before disappearing.

“Let’s go save ‘em C.” said Marie.

“Yeah, let’s.” he confirmed, walking along towards the town.

After a while, they made it to the outskirts of the abandoned town. The creepy empty streets almost seemed soothing compared to the tension filled battles that had taken place. The smell of salt filled the air as they approached the dock. Before turning the corner on an intersection, they heard feet dragging against the dirt. They hid themselves in a nearby building and watched to see who it was. Walking down the street in a sulking manner was Boug.

He kicked the dirt with every step, mumbling to himself saying, “-Why should it be my problem. Darke, such a showoff. If it weren’t for my brother's dilemma, I wouldn’t even be doing this.” They watched him turn the corner out of view.

“Well that ain’t good.” said Ceailean.

“Why’s that?” asked Marie.

“That way is towards the docks. If he’s going to be there, we’re gonna be forced to have a battle.”

“That can’t be good.” said Marie, looking down at Fennekin. “Even with two pokemon with a type advantage against that Yanmega, do you think we can still beat it?”

Ceailean looked at Scorbunny, who was focusing on looking out the window. “Scorbunny there rocked the boat we were on, there’s no doubt that I think he’ll be a menace to them.”

“You’re a different story however, you didn’t even know what move it was using before I told you.”

“I couldn’t have been that bad, it was my first time seeing anything like that.”

“We don’t even know what other moves it knows. We can’t know what it’s fully capable of.”

“Even so, as long as it knows what it’s fighting for, it’s going to bring it’s best. Right, Scorbunny?” Scorbunny took it’s gaze away from the window and nodded in agreement. “Well, we aren't gonna get anything done from waiting here, let’s head out.”

“Okay, I’m ready.” Marie took hold of Ceailean once more and headed out for the docks.

The sea quickly became visible as they walked towards it. Down below, they saw Boug board the boat from the pier. Only being one street away from the dock, Ceailean makes a suggestion.

“Let’s get a better view from up here.” he said, pointing to the tallest building in the vicinity.

“Why? We can see the dock here just fine.”

“I would like to have a full understanding of my surroundings, that way I can use it to my advantage.”

“Okay, if you’re sure.”

They entered what seemed to be a somewhat of a saloon. The building was three stories high, the two higher stories just seemed to be assorted offices and closets. Eventually they came upon a room with a window that faced directly towards the dock. Ceailean put Marie down in a nearby chair and looked out of it.

“See anything useful?” asked Marie. Ceailean looked, but he wasn’t searching for anything.

Instead, what he said was, “I suppose there isn’t.”

“Well that was a waste then. Why are we stalling about, shouldn’t we just go in?”

“No. No we.” Marie became suspicious of his meaning, Fennekin sharing her feelings. “Scorbunny, let’s go.”

“Hold on, wait! Where are you going?”

“Same place, the goal is still the same.”

“But, y-you’re taking me with you right?”

“No, I am not” Ceailean then hurriedly exited the room with Scorbunny following him and closed the door on Marie, trapping her inside.

From her chair, Marie instinctively tried to get up, only to be reminded of the pain she was in. “Wait, C! Don’t leave me here!” Tears began to form in her eyes. Fennekin was barking at the door, telling Ceailean the same thing.

Ceailean spoke through the door, “I’ve taken what you said into consideration, and you’re right. I know how stubborn you are and you would hurt yourself trying to save all those pokemon. Now you can’t go nowhere, now you won’t hurt yourself.”

“What is one door gonna do to stop me, it doesn’t even have a lock.”

“That is why I’m going to do this.” A large cluster of objects could be heard falling all over the ground behind the door. “Now, there’s no way you’ll leave.”

“C! This isn’t funny, come back!”

“This is hard for me to just leave you here, for that I’m sorry. But, this is the only way to ensure that you stay safe. I hope you can understand.”

“C!” Marie rose straight to her feet, trying to ignore her pain. But it was too much, the pain made her lose strength in her leg and she fell down, making a large thud. Ceailean almost instinctively opened the door, but he remembered what he was doing and backed off. “Please! Let me go with you!”

Ceailean’s voice sounded sad, “Hey, don’t worry about it. Just believe in me and Scorbunny, yeah?”

Marie tried to pick herself up from the floor. “That’s not what this is about C! We’re in an abandoned town, what if no one finds me?”

She received no response.

“C?”

Still no answer.

Tears streamed down her face as she realized that he had already left her there.

“Why? Why won’t you believe in me?”

Ceailean exited the building and faced towards the docks. “Are you ready?” he asked Scorbunny. It told him that it was. “Then let’s go in, full speed ahead.” They sprinted down the dock below.

They came up to the boat and Boug was crouched near the Pokémon observing them. “Hey! Let those Pokémon go!”

Boug poked his head over and saw it was Ceailean. “Well ain’t this a sight. Seems like you want to cause trouble.”

“You’re the one who started all the trouble by stealing all those Pokémon!”

“Perhaps, but for me it was necessary.”

“How could it ever?”

“My reasons are my own, just know that I have stuff to prove.” Boug threw out his pokéball and out came Yanmega.

“This time will be different, I’m not alone anymore!” Scorbunny stepped up, ready to fight.

“So that would explain the broken one. Perhaps you’re eager to seek our forgiveness.”

“I would never!”

“Then stop wasting my time. Yanmega, use signal beam!” Yanmega shot a bright pink at Scorbunny.

“Get outta the way!” Scorbunny sidestepped, avoiding the attack which punched straight through the aged boards and into the water. “Good! Now show him what you’re made of!” Scorbunny immediately charged ahead so fast that it’s outline became blurry. Yanmega lost track of Scorbunny and was met with a headbutt to it’s side, sending it smacking against the side of the boat.

“Yanmega, come on! Don’t let a simple quick attack get to you!” Yanmega quickly recovered and flew to Boug’s side.

“So that was quick attack.” said Ceailean.

“Now use double team!” Afterimages of Yanmega appeared all over the area. “Surround it and use ancient power!” A white ball of energy appeared on all of the Yanmega’s legs and they launched them at Scorbunny.

“Hurry! Come this way!” Scorbunny ran towards Ceailean as hail of attacks rained down from the sky. The rotten wood splintered violently from each subsequent explosion, leaving Boug stranded on what was left out in the water. Scorbunny called out to Ceailean to do something, but he couldn’t understand what. Somehow though, it clicked in his mind. “Yeah! Here goes!” he said lowering down and cupping his hands together. Scorbunny jumped on them and Ceailean threw it high in the air. Both of Scorbunny’s legs ignited into flames as soon as it left his hands. It kicked in a circle while hovering in the air, sending flames in all directions. The flames made all of the afterimages disappear until there was only one left.

“Good, hit with blaze kick on the way down!” Scorbunny locked on target and charged straight down, hitting Yanmega so hard that it practically disappeared straight into the water. “Yes” said Ceailean triumphantly.

“Don’t count us out just yet! Use signal beam!” Yanmega immediately flew out of the water, catching Scorbunny off guard and hit it point blank with signal beam. It launched Scorbunny across the street, smashing against a wooden wall of a building. “Bugger is fast, grab it so it can’t get away!”

Scorbunny barely recovered fast enough to see Yanmega surrounding it with it’s legs. Scorbunny was scooped up by Yanmega and Boug shouted, “Now use supersonic!” An ear piercing sound flooded the area. Ceailean and Scorbunny were both being affected by it.

“Scorbunny, do something!” yelled Ceailean while covering his ears. Scorbunny looked Yanmega in the face and gave it a blazing kick to the chest. Yanmega stopped emitting the noise and took another knee from Scorbunny. A blazing roundhouse smashed Yanmega into the same building that Scorbunny was launched into. It then ran up and jumped as it’s knee became orange and gave Yanmega one more kick. The attack hit so hard that the wall around the two Pokémon caved in and sent them both out of view of their trainers.

“Hi jump kick? That can’t just be any other starter! What’s going on!” shouted Boug. An explosion cut off Ceailean before he could say something. “No, Yanmega!” said Boug, diving into the water. A hint of concern for his Pokémon was heard as he said this. Ceailean realized what was up and ran through the hole in the building to meet back up with Scorbunny.

“Woah, it did all this?” said Ceailean to himself as he made his way through the ruined building. Two holes were on either side of the room, indicating that they must’ve gone straight through. Ceailean opened the front door and saw Scorbunny give one more blaze kick to Yanmega, sending it sliding across the dirt. It was about to go in for another attack before Ceailean stopped it saying, “Wait, it can’t battle anymore, stop!” Scorbunny crossed it’s arms and obliged.

Just then, a surge of water came from the side and hit Scorbunny, erupting into a plume of vapor. “Scorbunny! Are you okay?”

“Looks like I found you, child!” Jragon stood menacingly alongside Dragalge down the road. “Looks like you got nowhere else to run. Now I have a chance to turn you into a steamin’ pile!”

Ceailean’s skin crawled at his threat. “What did you do to Crisis?” he demanded.

“You mean the punk in white? The boss took it off our hands so that we can have no more interruptions while we work. But it would seem that you’re doing that anyway.”

“Where is he?”

Jragon pointed behind Ceailean, “My guess is that he’s over there.”

Ceailean turned around and saw a giant raging sandstorm quite a distance from where they were. He watched in shock as he looked further up to see that it was raging past the clouds. “I can’t worry about him right now. Right now, I'm gonna take you down!”

“Oh really! As if I’d be beaten by a child!”

Ceailean checked on Scorbunny, who was struggling to its feet. “Say what you want, but I'm not running anymore. I’ll show you our power, our will!” Scorbunny was now full energy and ready to go. Ceailean threw his hand out and said, “Use quick attack!” Scorbunny ran ahead in a blur.

“Don’t let it get close, use water gun!” Dragalge shot water at the rapidly approaching Scorbunny. It dodged its way through all of Dragalge’s attacks and hit it straight on. “Enough fooling around, dragon pulse!”

“Get outta there! yelled Ceailean. Scorbunny ran up to a building and ran across its wall. Dragalge fired a purple beam from its mouth at Scorbunny as it ran, only staying just ahead of it. The attack blasted the boards apart as it tried to catch up to Scorbunny. “Now jump and use blaze kick!” Scorbunny took advantage of the flying debris, jumping to an airborne board and used it as a platform to attack from a different angle. It flew straight at Dragalge and knocked its head into the ground with a fiery kick.

Dragalge slid to Jragon's feet, angering him greatly. “What do you think you’re doing here, get up and fight!” Obediently, Dragalge slowly lifted itself from the dirt and faced Scorbunny once more.

“Why do you fight, Dragalge?” asked Ceailean. It looked to him. “Why do you fight despite knowing where all those innocent Pokémon are going to go?”

“Hmph! No time for you to be asking questions, child!”

“But how could it ever? Doesn’t it even have a basic sense of morale or empathy?” Dragalge lowered its head in thought.

“Ha! It’s not like the place where it came from was any more forgiving than it ever was. I got mine bred from captivity inside the Gulag!”

“The Gulag? Just what is that place?”

Jragon waved his finger, “Not a place, a service. Truly a marvel of our world.”

Ceailean was starting to get angry. He balled up his fist and asked, “Just what is it exactly!”

“A service hailed by us all hunters. A service that forces Pokémon to fight for their freedom, without them being held back by rules. But if you couldn’t tell, they’re always looking for fresh blood. Sustaining a business model like that by themselves is nearly impossible, so they’re willing to pay a premium for large hauls of Pokémon they could use.”

“Who would ever put this together? It is just for personal pleasure?”

Jragon smirked, “Oh no, it is for us all. The battles are shown online in the dark web. From there, viewers are able to bet on who wins. And to be honest, no one knows who runs it. All we see are, associates.”

“You, how can you be so horrible!”

“Welcome to the real world, child! There are people out there that are way more wicked than I can ever be. I’m sure you’ve met Steele.” Ceailean stood there, not knowing what to say. “That’s enough talk. Dragalge, water gun!” Dragalge focused up and attacked. The sudden attack caught Scorbunny and Ceailean off guard as it hit Scorbunny directly.

“Scorbunny, you okay?” It nodded yes. “Good, now use quick attack!” Scorbunny shot ahead in a blur. Dragalge barely even had time to react before Scorbunny was right up in its face ready to attack. But before it could do so, a pink beam came from the side and hit Scorbunny. The explosion sent it flying, landing on its head then flipped upright and slid to a halt. The dazed Dragalge looked to see who saved it.

“Enough!” yelled Boug from down the street, soaked from head to toe. “You have made such a mess of things, I’ll be sure to put you in your place!” Yanmega flew beside him just as angry as him.

“You? Coulda sworn you were done in by this child.” said Jragon.

“Don’t underestimate me Jragon, you’re not in any better position yourself."

“That child! No, that Scorbunny is like no other I’ve ever seen!”

“Forget that! What could it do with just a green thumb as it’s trainer!” Ceailean became uneasy at that statement. “I have no more time for games! Get out of our way! Use signal beam!”

“Water gun!”

Dragalge and Yanmega both shoot their attacks at Scorbunny. Ceailean quickly said, “Dodge it!” Scorbunny back-flips out of the way as the attacks collide into the ground.

“Go behind it Yanmega! Keep it from moving too much!” shouted Boug. Yanmega then flies over to the other side of the street, guarding any escape routes Scorbunny could’ve taken.

Ceailean is panicking at this point. He looked side to side, evaluating his options. Feeling like he couldn’t wait around forever, he said, “Q-Quick attack on Dragalge!” Scorbunny ran in for another kick to the head.

Jragon was quick on the draw this time. “Duck!” Dragalge ducked under the attack right before it would’ve hit.

“Ancient power!” shouted Boug. Yanmega shot a silvery orb at Scorbunny.

“Oh no-” was all Ceailean could sputter in the moment. Scorbunny thought fast and grabbed Dragalge's head, hiding behind it as Dragalge took the attack.

“Bastard!” grunted Jragon.

“Later!” said Boug. The enraged Dragalge threw Scorbunny off of its head back in between the two Pokémon.

Ceailean took advantage of Scorbunny’s momentum, “Now, use blaze kick on Yanmega!” Scorbunny barely touched the ground before going into another full tilt attack on Yanmega.

“Back up!” Yanmega backed off before the fiery kick could even get close.

“Sludge bomb!” Dragalge shot balls of sludge at Scorbunny while it was still in midair. The attack just barely missed when Scorbunny shifted its body to avoid it.

“Signal beam!” Yanmega shot another pink beam at Scorbunny's feet just as it landed. Scorbunny jumped back before it landed. The two opposing Pokémon were now closing the distance between them, limiting Scorbunny's movement even more.

“Q-Quick, blaze kick on Dragalge!” Scorbunny turned round and attacked Dragalge, only for it to be dodged again. “Now quick attack on Yanmega!” Scorbunny quickly went back and attacked Yanmega, only for this attack to be dodged too. The two opposing pokemon grew ever closer, causing Ceailean to shout out attacks even faster. “Quick attack, blaze kick, quick attack, quick attack again, blaze, quick, blaze-” Scorbunny rapidly attacked back and forth between the two pokemon, eventually out pacing Ceailean’s instructions. The attacks only got more intense until they were just a couple feet apart from each other.

Scorbunny attacked with another blaze kick, which went right over Dragalge's head. Jragon was observing closely and took advantage of this mistake. “Now! Hit it up!” Dragalge whipped its head up and smacked Scorbunny into the air.

Boug followed up. “Grab it and throw it down!” Yanmega grabbed hold of Scorbunny mid-flight and looped around in the air, throwing Scorbunny on the way down.

A large plume of dust flew all around from the impact. “Scorbunny!” called out Ceailean.

“Water gun!”

“Signal beam!”

The two Pokémon lowered upon the impact site and shot their attacks. Before the attacks land, a burst of heat explodes from where Scorbunny was, dissipating both attacks and causing both Pokémon to be enveloped in a huge amount of dust.

“What is this?” asked Boug, covering his face. Dragalge was quickly scanning its surroundings. But it was too late, as Scorbunny had landed a high jump kick on it without being spotted. Dragalge flew out of the dust and to the feet of the hunters. The dust began to clear and inside was Scorbunny, practically gasping for air and surrounded by an orange aura.

“Its ability is blaze, quite frankly the only normal thing about it.” explained Jragon.

Ceailean watched in awe at the power that Scorbunny was exerting. “Yeah, we can actually win this.” he thought to himself.

“I got it, use ancient power!” shouted Boug. A look of shock wiped over Scorbunny's face as Yanmega flew behind it with such speed that the dust parted as it came through. A silvery orb formed in its legs, looking to go for a direct hit. Ceailean could barely even register what was happening while Yanmega lunged in for an attack.

Just then, a blast of cold wind blew Yanmega off balance, sending it careening off to the side and sliding to the hunters feet. The ancient power was shot to the top of a building, blasting the wood into the hunters. Ceailean looked to see who helped Scorbunny. There, only standing with the help of a coat hanger, stood Marie. Fennekin and Snom were at her side.

“Marie?” asked Ceailean.

Marie seemed hugely determined and asked, “What’s the next plan of attack!”

“B-But-”

“Shut it! What’s the plan!”

Ceailean focused up and observed the situation. “Well, Scorbunny is beyond exhausted. We can’t let the battle drag out for much longer.”

“Then we have to end it in one shot! Ready you two!” Fennekin and Snom agreed with her, but they were still exhausted from their battle with Steele. Ceailean tried to think, he didn’t believe that Fennekin and Snom could do it by themselves. That is when an idea popped into his head. He reached into his duffle and pulled out the fire gem.

“Wait! Scorbunny, take this!” Ceailean threw the fire gem towards Scorbunny. It caught it and inspected it closely. “It’s a fire gem Scorbunny, it’ll power up your fire type moves immensely!”

Marie was impressed by this. “And stacked on top of a blaze boost, the power will be insane!”

“Yes! Marie, will you cover me?”

Her expression soured as she said, “Yeah, whatever, let’s do it!”

“Ready Scorbunny?” asked Ceailean. Scorbunny clutched the fire gem tightly and gave him a nod. “Good, now go!” Scorbunny charged straight ahead at the hunters.

“Whatever you’re planning won’t work! You two get up now!” ordered Jragon. Boug however, wasn’t as confident. His expression was full of fear and he started to shiver a little. Yanmega and Dragalge picked themselves up and faced the charging Scorbunny. “Super effective only, use water gun!”

“Use s-signal beam!” said Boug with a hint of desperation in his voice. Both Pokémon shot their attacks.

“Counter with ember and icy wind!” shouted Marie. All the attacks collided together, creating a huge explosion. Through the smoke, Scorbunny kept running. “Make sure they never get the chance!” Attacks flew out constantly from both sides, none making contact with Scorbunny.

“No more messing around! Dragalge, use aqua tail!” shouted Jragon at the top of his lungs. A vortex of water came surging out of Dragalge's tail. It then did a front flip and slammed its tail on the ground, shooting the water farther out. Scorbunny barely had enough time to side step away from the attack. “Now again! We won’t miss this time!”

Dragalge readied up another aqua tail, but Marie shouts, “Snom! Get over there and stop it with struggle bug!” Snom shot itself forward with an icy wind in between Yanmega and Dragalge. Dragalge switched targets, now it was aiming for Snom. Before it could even attack, Snom blasted both Pokémon with a huge amount of green energy. This caused both to be stunned long enough for Scorbunny to make a move. “Now! Do it!” shouted Marie.

“Use blaze kick!” shouted Ceailean. Scorbunny jumped up, its leg first igniting into flames, then glowing red hot from the blaze boost. Finally, the fire gem glowed brightly in Scorbunnys hand, all its light being absorbed by Scorbunny. It disappeared from its hand and the flames grew so hot that that left burn marks on the buildings ten feet away. Yanmega looked up to be greeted by a blaze kick so powerful that when it struck, it produced a light so bright that none of the trainers there could even look at it directly. Once the attack was fully accomplished, the resulting shock-wave broke whatever windows were left in the surrounding buildings. Yanmega flew back with such speed that it hit Dragalge hard, instantly knocking it out. Yanmega went flying in a different direction while Dragalge flew into Jragon, knocking him out also. Both Pokémon hit the side of buildings, creating craters of splintered wood.

“Yanmega! No!” cried Boug. He ran over to his wounded Pokémon. “No, they’re gonna kill me if they found out what I did.”

Ceailean threw his hands up in the air and cheered, “Yeah! We did it Scorbunny!” Scorbunny turned around and gave him a weak smile before falling on its butt as the energy fractured off its body. Ceailean started to cheer at Marie, but she had walked over and started to hit him with her balled up fists. “Ow! Ow! Hey, what’s the big idea?”

“What’s the big idea? Oh, I don’t know, perhaps leaving me in a three story building all by myself with a leg injury!” yelled Marie, still hitting Ceailean hard despite being anchored by a coat hanger.

“Please stop, Ow, I get it! Please have mercy!”

Marie continued her slug-fest for a few more moments before being interrupted by Boug. “You two! You…” he looked at the passed out Jragon and Dragalge, “You ruined everything! This was finally gonna be our way out, now I don't know what I’m going to do!” Ceailean and Marie listened at first, but their gaze met someone past Boug. “I-I won’t forget this! Forever and ever, I’ll make sure one day I’ll hunt you guys down! Yanmega return!” Boug held out his pokéball and retrieved Yanmega. He looked down upon the ball before turning around for an escape. But he ran into a man standing with his arms crossed and absolutely furious.

Boug fell to the ground and crawled away while stammering, “O-Oh um, h-hey Darke. I-I can explain this, t-they-”

“I don’t need your excuses, I know full well what’s going on here.” said Darke. Large, pounding footsteps could be heard behind him. What walked up was a large and imposing Pokémon, and held in its hand by the collar was Crisis.

“No way.” said Marie horrified.

“What Pokémon is that?” asked Ceailean.

“That’s mega Tyranitar.” Tyranitar exhaled through its nostrils, jetting out steam. Ceailean was shocked. He had heard of mega Pokémon before, but that was way more than he imagined. Snom flew back to Marie’s side and stared down the Pokémon with Fennekin and Scorbunny.

“You all have royally pissed me off, let me show you how much of a mistake that was.” said Darke. Tyranitar threw Crisis in front of them, bloodied and battered.

Crisis coughed and managed to say, “You...run…”
