Chapter 22: A leisurely day
When morning came, Nalser was up and running around already. The first place he visited was the Guild. He wanted to check out the jade slips there. If he could find some good jade slips on forging and/or inscribing, he would definately buy them. As he was browsing through the catalouge on jade slips that the Guild had, he heard a familiar voice. "Oh, seems like you are up early. What do you need, a weapon, clothes ?"
The owner of the voice was the ever smiling Tobias. He gave Tobias a glance and and said, "I'm looking for jade slips on forging and inscribing. There are a few things that I want to see if it would be possible to make that way." "Are those things from your old world? If they are, I could introduce you to some of the best forgers and inscribers in Rem'bar." Tobias asked in a interested voice. After learning about Nalsers world, he was quite interested in the so called "technology". "Yea, it is. I'm currently looking for methods to make something similar to a weapon from my old world."
When Nalser was talking to Tobias, his eyes never left the catalogue. It wasn't that he was disrespecting Tobias. He could simultaneously read and talk to someone. Tobias also was a carefree person, so he wasn't bothered by it. He sat down next to Nalser and started playing with the now awoken Curo. Tobias kept making small talk, he didn't want to bother Nalser too much. after 15 minutes of browsing, Nalser shut the book. He found 6 jade slips on forging that might be useful and 4 on inscribing. He stood up to go and purchase these jade slips that interested him. Tobias was following like a shadow, he was quite interested in what jade slips Nalser picked out. When he saw the jade slips, Tobias was confused.
All of those jade slips focused on forging and inscribing from different angles with different methods. Nalser was well aware of that, when he picked them out. He wanted a more versatile selection. You can't make something new if you only hammer at the same old route. He actually wasn't planning on using any of these methods. He wanted to take the base essence from them and create his own method. He was going to invent something that didn't exist in this world. If he were to use the same methods as this world, the result would be mediocre at best. When he was done choosing the jade slips. Nalser wanted to go out to town and buy some equipment. He was in a desperate need of some shirts and long pants. When he started walking towards the exit, Tobias had guessed where Nalser was going. He immediately said, " If you need the clothes, I will send someone out to buy them for you in a bulk. Mind coming to my office to chat for a bit on some more serious subjects?" He gestured Nalser to join him in his office upstairs. His face was a rare serious one. "Seems like I'll have to trouble one of your subordinates then."
Although Nalser didn't have any obligations in this world, he felt that he owed to Tobias. If Tobias hadn't taken him in when he did, Nalser would have most probably ended up as a slave on the front lines. He was only one person, while the nobles had hundreds of thousands of soldiers at their call. If they had seriously wanted, no matter how much experience Nalser had, he would have still ended up as a dead person or a slave. He followed Tobias to the office after he had given a young lady in her teens the order to go buy some clothes for Nalser. He also said that hey should be black in color and the other specific details. When all of that was taken care of, they entered the office.

"Now then, what is this more serious subject that you wish to speak to me about?" Nalser didn't like beating around the push and immediately cut to the chase. " As blunt as ever, huh?" Tobias could only sigh to that. Soon he continued, "What are your plans from now on?" If you don't have any, mind if I ask you to stay in the kingdom for a while and mingle with the nobles here. They are not as bad as the ones in Nadin. Everyone is interested in meeting you." "Njaa, I plan on staying in Rem'bar for a about 4-5 more days. After that I'll be moving east. Also, it's not that I don't trust you, it's just that I don't want to tie myself to kingdom, thus creating more responsibilities for myself." He didn't outright reject Tobias's invitation but he also subetely let him know, he wasn't interested in getting more responsibilities handed to him.
"I figured you were going to say that. Anyways, here is your new Guild Card. From now on you are officially a Black Star Adventurer." He handed Nalser his new Guild Card. It was pitch black and had big golden star on the back. Nalser accepted his new Guild Card and bound it. After doing so, he asked, "Was this all you wanted to talk to me about?" "Actually yea, that was the main point I wanted to talk to you about. I'm also intrested in where you will be going from now on?" Tobias could only shrug his shoulders to that. He had known what Nalser was going to answer before he did. "I'm planning to move east. How far? I don't know. I'm just searching for a person." Nalser said with a thoughtful look. He wasn't planning on revealing nay details but he didn't mind giving a general description on what he was going to do from now on. He trusted this Tobias at least this much. "Ho, you are searching for someone, give me name or a general description and I will help you find that person." Tobias was intrigued. Just who was important enough for Nalser to personally search for him.
"If I knew, I would tell you. I only know where she is by intuition." Nalser started laughing. "Ohh, it's a woman. Then I'm afraid I will be of no help there, little lad." Tobias also started laughing, he understood, that Nalser was looking for a woman to spend his days with. That truly wasn't something that Tobias could help with. Soon the young lady in her teens, walked in and gave Nalser the clothes. Nalser immediately put the shirt on. Since the lady didn't have time to avert her eyes, she blushed when she saw Nalser dressing in front of her. She left the door giggling. When Nalser and Tobias saw that, they both started laughing loudly. They exchanged a few more pleasantries and then Nalser left.
He strolled around town for a few hours and then headed back to the inn. He started analyzing the different method described on the jade slips. He formed a vague concept of how to make his own method. He planned to use the Asura Flame as the primary catalyst. So his more thoroughly researched on methods that used fire as a main catalyst. What he needed to do was melt the materials in the Asura Flame and then reform the materials into the shape he wished. It sounds simple but it is extremely hard to pull off. You always have to keep in mind how the materials act at certain temperatures and how to merge the materials together. The process was long and had to be precise, any misstep would make the process fail as a whole.
"Seems like creating "that" is possible." Nalser said with a sinister smile.
