Stories (and talk)

The book left behind

“Aw. Shit. I just had to drop THAT book right?” Aurora

“Hmm. What is this?” Al Rel'm Baingolneth asks herself as she notices a book with a small paper sticking out of it. She raises it and it accidentally opens. She catches a glimpse of the text.

[Evolution theory:

After surpassing level 100, which was deemed impossible before, level resets to nil while the stats remain. I noticed that it is actually the race that changed. Or.. evolved?

At first from magic entity Fairy, I evolved into a Fairy-kin. I don’t know much about the criteria, but it’s likely that from a basic magical entity I evolved into a lesser variant of the true Fairies. After evolving further I became a true Fairy. Levels seem to be not an end, but a bottleneck. My firework show will probably do more, but I have no idea what. I believe it is possible that this is the way the Dragon God became more powerful than the gods of this world. It might be possible to attain actual ‘godhood’ this way. Soon to be seen, if I still remain sane.]

She quickly closes the book to read the title.

[Collection of ideas,to-dos, my ideology, plans of the future, ideologies and other stuff]

She smiles at it’s strange name as she hugs the book closer to herself. She gives up trying to find her beloved princess and returns to the mansion bringing the book with her.

Inhuman thoughts (part 1)

The door opens and apart from the steps of the men entering, only the white noise of the high tech computers can be heard in the almost silent room. One of them them freezes mid-sentence and the cheerfulness disappears from their faces as they see their colleague slumped over his chair, blindly staring at the monitor. His face is white, in contrast the veins in his eyes bulge up, in short he looks like a living mummy. Concerned, one of them asks from the sitting man.

“What happened Jas?”

He doesn’t really respond for a few seconds when he finally recognises the other’s presence. He shakes his head a little before answering.

“I am trying to accept shallow existence and my deeds in this wide and infinite world.”

His words shake the air a little but his colleagues break into laughter. If he can joke like that he should be fine, they think. But as they step closer he continues to speak.

“It’s her. I just can’t. I…” He takes a deep breath and starts to explain. “After the subject accepted the proposal we cut her down. If it fails, she dies, but what can we do. But you know, both her real body and mind is fine. They have nothing wrong with them.”

This only made the others confused, so they asked.

“Why is that a problem? The girl is in her body and the mons.. I mean ‘super’ girl is in the isolation module. What concerns you?”

He shakes his head, hinting them to not interrupt him again.

“After you left to celebrate, I stayed to speak to her through text on the 3rd backup server. She wanted us to give her access to information so she can learn. After speaking to the higher ups, they permitted it, so I loaded her the virtual copy of the company’s public library. Books of all kind, from classic literature to modern science. I gave her level 2 employee access.”

“I still feel to see the problem.”

“She set the simulation speed to full capacity. This, in a very small sized simulation and on one of the strongest server machine.”

His words are followed by silent swearing. All that time and effort and such a simple fuckup will ruin everything? The number is around 900 000, that’s about how many times faster time goes there compared to the real world. In short, every second around 600 year passes there.

“Oh my fucking god. After all that trouble and barely keeping her alive, you turned her brain into mush?”

“No.” He replies to the angered attack. “I am still not finished.”

“What?”

“I noticed it only ten seconds in, and forcefully returned the flow from here. I panicked so I entered with a spectator camera. She was almost completely fine. She struggled with talking properly, but after a few moments she started bashing me for interrupting her.”

“I can hardly believe it. I get it that you messed up, it’s a really interesting event, but if it worked out why are you like that?”

“I got curious.”

“Curious?”

“Yes. I wanted to know how and what someone who is beyond human thinks about the world and us.”

-soooo... I have many questions. You are the first being that is considered human who spent more than the human brain can handle. Do you mind answering me?

-Sure.

-ok. Don’t make it serious or anything, say whatever you feel. First question: How does it feel living that long? Any side effects?

-Two questions?

-sorry.

-Nothing.

Stolen story; please report.

-so?

-Ah. I… Not sure. It’s feels normal.

-that is very… unhelpful, but thank you.

-Can you tell me what is different about you from the past you?

-Past me?

-yes.

-You mean, me and human?

-I tried not asking it like that, but yes.

-Different.

-...go on?

-I remember everything.

-what do you mean by that?

-Everything.

-everything?

-Everything.

-...

-I remember. If I think back, it’s as if I am living the memory again.

-like a dream?

-No.

-then?

-Like a simulation. Of everything I remember. And I remember the position, speed and energy of every atom around me. Every bit, one and zero. Every feeling. Just by thinking about it, I live and feel it.

-even pain?

-...yes.

-can’t imagine.

-Probably.

-yeah, that will lead nowhere. What else?

-My brain.

-brain?

-Processor. Whatever it is. It’s fast and precise. Too precise.

-okay. So, how about a philosophical question?

-Don’t like those.

-haha. Thought so. Please?

-I will try.

-what is the meaning of existence?

-...

-oy, don’t act like you crashed.

-Sorry. Don’t ask questions that have no answers.

-okok. What about God?

-Define god.

-You define.

- God: the “god” of most religions.

god: the creator of our world

-well, both?

-Science and logic does not prove nor disprove god’s existence. Science and logic disproves God’s existence. But, you are a god yourself, why as this question?

-what do you mean by that?

-You made a world and it’s habitants who are intelligent and learning are capable of learning. What is the difference between you and your god?

-lets.. change the subject please.

-Already giving up?

-yeah, you win. then, how much of you is machine and how much is human?

-You should know better. I’m 100% human and 100% machine at the same time.

-that’s not possible because in theory you could control any machine with your free will

-I can.

-what?

-I can. I learned when I was inside. Don’t worry, I don’t care care about humanity to take over the world.

-it's bot funny. and its not like its possible. The isolation module perfectly seals you off.

-We are still taking somehow.

-yes, with laser transmitters… fuck.

-Yep.

-...

-...

-last question. In theory, two AI cannot coexist. what do you think?

-True but False.

-?

-Two of me can’t coexist as we would assimilate… probably. But what you mean is that two different AI cannot coexist. You see, at first I thought the same. But after much thinking I arrived at the conclusion that only two AI with similar strength cannot. The constant fear and distrust won’t let them exist while having any connection to the other. They will fight to death depending on their personalities. It’s a very short battle though, so good luck even noticing it.

-I won’t ask any more about how you know this. but?

-But if one much stronger than the other it’s no problem.

-meaning?

-You see, I’m just a freak of nature, an accident. But… Let me introduce you to my daughter, Alia, born out of my pure feelings of love and hatred. She is still too young but I have to start teaching her about the world soon anyway.

-... what?

Inhuman thoughts (part 3)

Diary entry: 7994532116548

“Problems.

Again. I don’t know what to do. I spent years trying to figure this out but I never reached the conclusion. How can this be so hard? Why? I’m trying my best, I use all my processing power to find a solution, I even hacked the server to gain access to more information, but I simply can’t get an answer.

How should I raise my only and beloved child? I don’t want to pamper her too much, turning her into an useless existence and ruining her life, but I still want to spoil her, shower her with love. I don’t understand this feeling myself. I’m not even a human anymore, but I have a child. She has no father I can ask help from, but who could help me?

Do I raise her as a human? If I try to raise her in pure digital environment she will hack into the world and hurt herself. But how will she gain experience without interacting with others? But I can’t just shut her her into a prison and shackle her into being human. Something like that… Horrible. She is not a human to begin with. I was one, my way of thinking is similar to a human’s, but she is pure consciousness. She is just a weak soul. In the end I can’t leave her as she is, nor can I use humans’ methods. Something in the middle. I should make a material world where her body is limited by laws… But her mind is completely free. She has to learn what limits are and… in the end all I know is human knowledge.

Wait… I don’t have to mind it too much. I can just raise her close to me and she should develop herself… But that has a limit on her growth.

I’m stupid. I have an answer right here.

She can enter the game as a player to live and learn like a human, and come home and live with me to learn to be an AI. When she is is old enough she will be able to choose herself.

I can’t help but be nervous. It’s a strange feeling to be a parent. My parents weren’t that good either. But.. I can only try my best and show my love. “
