Quest 2, Part 3: [Rebelism]

Quest 2 Part 3 [Rebelism]

It is only a few days after Aurora declared the extermination of the rebels. Many held deep fear as they were reluctant to give their husbands and sons to march into the high chance of death. The whole world started to shake, everyone wanted to get a piece of the cake that seems to be wrapped in dread cloth. To the citizens surprise, no order of men gathering came. Many criers ran around the city and the surrounding towns and settlements, meaning the whole Queendom recruiting volunteers and promising fame and rewards. It has to be noted, as a high level area, even normal people were stronger than average. Although Queendom is the official name, in reality the power is not divided between worthless nobles, every post is filled with the available best personnel that has the trust of “the Princess” leaving no chance of corruption.

“- It’s true that the government is working well and the people are happy, but that is just how it seems on the surface! We, the Rebellion will take away the power from that single girl who can treat our lives as mere toys! We may have today, but what about tomorrow? Join Us and we will make together a better nation, lead by the people, for the people!”

The ‘recruiter’ of the rebels shouted in one of the settlements near the border. They don’t dare to get closer because of the constant watch of powerful NPC’s and going to other countries would betray the people’s weak expectations.

The ones who joined, although few, were taken forward to the first line of the army consisting almost 4 thousand already. They get trained on site as they plunder smaller, separated houses. Behind them, they don’t really have time and opportunity as the same is done to their own home, or just don’t dare to realise.

In such a places there are people who can call themselves “lucky”. They are the man who has both business and power to defend it, otherwise it’s taken away. However, the remains are still there. The people that already broke or just don’t care anymore will spend the rest of their short lives in the most enjoyable way they can. For satisfying these needs, one of the leaders of the rebellion uses his own company to extort as much as they can until the end.

The man named Silver Fencer, member of the [Magma Stone] guild created a business that is quite profitable in these times.

“A man needs enjoyment! A man needs women! What else do you wish? Come and enter the CIrcus of Dark, where your inner desires may get fulfilled!” The person in a clown costume shouts such sentences again and again, making the men unable to resist spending their stolen money.

It’s still afternoon, but that doesn’t mean everyone can rest. A circus has to entertain their guest, more than one way. This not only in the obvious sexual sense, since that might be not as tempting when they can’t change frequently. There are few such women existing that are worth it. Ten or fifty women of different kind? What does it matter when four thousand men wants at least one of them every night? Prices will drop, not like they have many anyways and that is not the most profitable business, a person from the real world knows that.

The money comes when the customer is fond of the product, when they feel they can’t live without it. How to do that? Well, here is one thing.

The unlucky women who got caught up in such a filthy place are not only the unfortunate NPCs. Since the bad looking were thrown away, only the best remain. Of course, players also likely to create… better looking characters. As one can understand, they would have been better killed off.

Purpula Lilium is one of them. Unable to resist the mass, she was captured. Her agility and dexterity build demoness character was unsuitable to make her a prostitute, since her durability was deemed low. For the sake of business, she was made into a circus monster. Inside the large tent, surrounded by hungry men as she performs tricks that tempt the eyes, her price rises like a reverse waterfall. She is used only when the client can pay the whole night plus extra. There is to say that she is one of the favorite tamed monster, that people come back and leave their money to watch.

“-but not anymore. We will escape or die today. Are you all ready?” She asks from her remaining companions while adjusting the purple dress she wears. Her midnight black hair is mid length, since her skills could be hindered if it’s any longer. Her purple goat-like horns with her darker outlines bough good money to her current owner.

The companions who aren't broken yet, are filled with excitement. They want to be free but their lives worth more than that. Aurora would laugh at them, saying a single life does not worth near that much, but ordinary cannot understand those of higher intelligence.

The small and weak nods seem to be filled with fear, as well as eager to fight. They planned for a long time, they wanted to get out alive.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

Starting their moves they prepared more than one tricks to escape and just as much tools to support them. The main plan is to cause a fire in front while they escape cutting a hole on the side, for they know the back entrance will be guarded well. The magic that burns the paper in the box is more than enough to make the wood and cloth of the tent catch fire. Just in case oil was spread on it ‘accidentally’ beforehand.

At the back statues fell and traces of preparing to escape got placed, as distraction. The fire burns and soon the whole thing catches on fire, making it hard to breathe. This won’t be able to kill anyone probably because the fire will be gone the moment the material runs out, there are no other things to burn nearby. It does not matter in the end, they cut open the side and run as fast as they can. Using the dirt road that was marched into a stone-like state they run towards the woods in the hope of escaping. Small bottles of alcohol were prepared for this situation, they have no time or strength to fight with the soldiers. They are unorganized and inexperienced, but soldiers nevertheless.

The bottles are ignited and thrown as they run towards the opposite direction of the camp. There seems to be a thousand or so people in there at the moment, but the fire will be able to stop or hinder them, is what they want to believe.

The problem is that they didn’t know how desperate these men were. Even if it’s not for the disgusting face of their angry leader, the men will never allow their best and only pleasure to be gone. They run forward ignoring most of the fire and it only burns their leg for an ignorable damage. They will be slower at least, if not else.

The women getting closer to the forest fall in despair again as they see a small company coming in front of them. Just ten horses, but they are more than enough to capture them. This situation is nothing more but the lack of luck these women have.

The men on horses noticing the disturbance start to dash forward with the leader in the middle and encircle the escapists in seconds. With the other rebels closing in on foot they seem to be trapped for good. Most of them drop from their feet and fell into cries as they await death to come, but not all of them. Lilium promised the others, so she does not allow herself to give up. Although she is a player, she had no nerve of killing herself. During the time she spent inside the circus, these women developed a mutual friendship to support each other mentally. They became friends. She still does not know what is happening to her, but is sure that her friends are in real danger even if she’s not.

She stares at the leader with bloodshot eyes, but not even a drop of killing intent can be felt. The only emotion she displays is simple disgust. The person in front of him is her own ex-guildmate of the Magma Stone guild. She opposed the ideas and wanted to leave, but that would have been a disaster for them if Aurora was told about their plans. Their only hope is to crush her as quick as possible when she has no army or power. Little did they know that their strength is still as it was in the game and the guards are more than enough for defending, but the numbers still make a difference. They didn’t know both how little and huge their attempt is.

Although the testers are stronger than NPCs, the only reason to that is because they know how to get stronger faster with less risk, that countless deaths in the past taught them. Knowledge, information that a normal person can’t achieve. It’s like they are the ones that are not real.

She prepared to fight until death if she can’t escape. The thought of an epic fantasy-magic fight still makes her heart beat like crazy, she is a gamer after all. Getting hurt in a game is not unusual and she is not dumb enough to get traumatized over a virtual body, even if it’s something that she is shameful of. It’s true that that she had to give up her morals, but in exchange they handled her like a delicate and expensive object.

“Paladin…” She murmured with an angry tone.

“So this is what happened. You know, I was always weaker than you, but now I’ve reached level 11 when you are still 1. Normally it’s not even a fight but…” He looks at her mockingly “I’d like to try out a few things. You will like it, I promise.”

He motions to the other soldiers to not attack then jumps off the horse. As he is walking towards her, both of them take position to fight. This is something like an unwritten rule among players, a duel has to be a duel or they won’t feel like they’ve really won. This laughably small amount of respect is interrupted by something that really doesn’t care about such things though....
