Ganz had been at the lunch table with a bunch of Nobles when the Sungans attacked his city. He had poisoned all the nobles of Pirun the very week after he took over the city, however he was starting to consider curing some of them. He was at lunch with one of them, Lord Dipol, A man who he found extremely intelligent and useful.
Dipol was in the process of explaining how Pirun could ramp up production of Hovercoaches so they would be able to phase out wheeled carriages when they heard a loud bang to the east, only a few meters away. By the second blast, Ganz already knew what was happening. He immediately invoked a duodecuple wave link spell, a spell Roska would've died to read, as he rushed away from the meal.
They all picked almost immediately. He presumed they all knew what was happening.
“Some people have found the core of the spell dampener.” Ganz said quickly as he rushed to the edge of the floating compound that housed Dipol’s family, From there he could see the Divine level floating just a few kilometers away. He would have to jump. Speed couldn’t jump nearly that far, so he decided to whip up a specialized projectile spell to launch himself to the divine level.
“My analysis of the blast energy density shows they’ll break the core in 3 more hits.” One of Ganz’s men said.
“Yes, we will be unable to reach them in time.” Ganz replied. “We’ll have to meet them in open combat. How many of you have powerful spells?”
They all mentioned that they did.
“Go and stall them. I’ll craft a starblast spell to finish it off.”
They all jumped off the call and Ganz brought a fresh sheet of paper to begin calculating the jump spell that would take him to the Divine Level.
2 minutes later he invoked the spell and launched himself in an immense arc, going high, high up into the sky as he flew towards the Divine level, midway through, he reached the peak, then he began to fall as he completed the jump. He landed on the Divine level with a soft thud, thanks to the cushion he’d built into the spell. He rushed towards the throne room, an extremely fortified structure crisscrossed with literally hundreds of century old defense spells.
He was met by members of the royal army, men who had fought against him just weeks earlier. They looked at him now.
“Lord Ganz, are we under attack?” The captain asked.
“Yes, we have been infiltrated. They have found the core of the spell dampener, and are striking it now as we speak, possibly with a large hammer.”
“They want to destroy it?” the captain asked.
“Yes, which means your men will be useless in the battle about to come. This is a Mage battle. Take your men and hide.”
“My lord we can fight!” the captain shouted.
Ganz paused in surprise, glanced at the Captain, and laughed.
“How old are you, captain?” He asked.
“42 sir!”
“I see.” Ganz replied. “You’ve lived your entire life under the protection of a spell dampener, so let me tell you this; The moment that spell dampener comes down, If your men are still here, every single one of them will be killed or broken in seconds if they find you. Flee now so you can live to police the masses whenever we get the dampener back up. Flee and Hide inside the tower!”
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
After a moment of hesitation, the captain took his men and fled into the inner chambers of the towers while Ganz brought out a fresh sheet of paper and started to design his Starblast spell.
No sooner had he started than the spell dampener broke, Almost immediately the familiar shockwaves began as attack spells clashed with defense spells. Ganz closed his eyes as the memories moved through his mind, then he opened them and continued to write.
Three hours later after an intense battle far away on the ground, His spell was finally done, He stood up and rushed to the edge of the Divine level, looking down, the devastation and destruction he saw on the west wing of the city drove him to fury. His love for Pirun made his heart ache at the destruction he now witnessed.
Who were these people?
He jumped down from the divine level using the speed and landed with a massive thud. Then he sped off towards the battle. The moment he saw the Sungan colors he became even angrier. General Makon, That bastard, actually made good on his threat.
He realized 2 of his men had been killed driving him further into blind rage. He controlled himself and launched his starblast spell. It was successful.
He ordered his men to clean up the mess as he walked away…
He was already a few meters away from the battle when his speed pricked up, the advanced reflexes the speed gave stung slightly on his back and he instinctively called up a defense spell, before it could fully form the attacker’s blade made through, slicing him on the back. He screamed out in pain.
The Starblast was his only battle ready spell Ganz, with it spent he was completely reliant on his men, and they came to his rescue, only to be overwhelmed by a new force of Sungans. Ganz couldn’t believe it.
General Makon, his attacker, completely had the upperhand, Ganz could barely keep his sanity together as General Makon pummeled him throwing him into buildings, stomping on him, and so on, His standard defense spells and the speed were the only things that prevented him from being crushed into pulp.
His men were spent and quickly subdued. They were all imprisoned at the Pirun Dungeons, and their hands all spread-eagled and chained to the wall lest they bind escaping spells onto the walls or floor.
Ganz looked at his men… they fought bravely to the end. Every single one of them was as bruised and broken as he was.
But it wasn’t over yet…
General Makon wasn’t interested in getting any information from them, so they were mostly left alone throughout the night. Neither of the men talked to each other or Ganz. The following morning at the break of dawn, Sungan soldiers rushed into their cells and grabbed them; they were dragged into Wheeled coaches designed for transporting prisoners. Their hands were tightly bound to their backs and watched closely by their jailers.
They were driven over to the city center, where General Makon was waiting for them, alongside a large crowd. They were grabbed and pushed to the podium where General Makon was delivering a grandiose speech.
Ganz was forced to kneel in front of General Makon as the latter was offered his ceremonial sword. The same sword he had used to threaten ganz.
“Ganz!” General Makon gloated. “Remember this sword?”
Ganz looked at General Makon with a sour expression. Like he was about to be offered sour medicine. General Makon laughed.
“He doesn’t want to die!” He shouted to the crowd. They were silent and somber.
He pointed the sword at Ganz. “You fought with honor at least. I should behead you, but in Sungan, we honor warriors. Therefore I will stop your heart with my blade. Any last words?”
Ganz looked at Makon for a few seconds, took a deep breath and shouted… “Yala Muko!”
Immediately his back burst into white hot flames, like he was a firecracker. Ganz cried out in pain but tore free and entered into a frenzied rage coupled with superhuman strength and speed.
General Makon stumbled backwards in shock as Ganz, With his entire back on fire, tore off the metal shackle on his neck, within a blink of an eye, screaming all the way, he hurled himself towards General Makon and punched him in the chest, causing it to cave in. almost immediately, he launched towards his men and tore out their steel shackles.
In just two seconds, Ganz had freed all of his men, the fire on his back burned out, he fell to the ground, completely spent. He groaned in pain as his destroyed back smoked. The Sungans sprung into action but it was too late. The men grabbed ganz and fled at superhuman speed. General Makon had fallen to the ground and was struggling to breathe, blood streaking out of the corner of his mouth. The Healer images rushed to stablize him.
The crowd immediately broke up as people fled. Within the pandemonium, the Aku’andans were the only ones that didn’t move. They just stood there and watched as Pirun, Once again, devolved into chaos.
