Elf Girl: “My name is Ratha Wranren, the receptionist assigned here”
“So I can sell monster corpses to you guys!” I asked recalling the system telling me about it.
Ratha: “Yes the Adventures Guild will provide you gold for monster body parts, herbs, and any other valuable object you want to sell.”
Ratha: “But first you will have to register as an Adventurer.” She said with a brimming smile.
Lily: “What is a… Adventurer?”
Walter: “Is it something like a hero?”
Ratha: “Well I think you could call them heroes, but the main job of an adventurer is to hunt monsters”
Ratha: “But you can still be an adventure without hunting monsters, if you finish enough non combat quest to maintain your rank. Non-combat quests can be anything from gathering materials, helping out on delivery, or crafting potions or weapons.”
“Can’t we sell you things without being an adventurer?” I asked Ratha.
Ratha: “Yes you can, but the prices will be 30% less”
Luke: “Is there no one else in the Village, besides you”
Ratha: “Right now, the village has 5 members, including me. All of which are staff belonging to the Adventurer's Guild”
Luke: “So do you guys work for the system?”
Ratha: “The Adventure’s Guild is an independent organization spread out throughout all the known universes. People of newly awakened planets usually have these questions about the system. The system is not an entity, it's more like air, present everywhere.”
Luke: “Is the system like god then?”
Ratha: “That would depend on which kind of god you are talking about, if you mean is the system capable enough to kill you, then no it’s probably not powerful as a god. The system is basically only capable of guiding and managing energy”
Walter: “Alright! That is too much information, My brain can’t take it.” he said out loud while scratching his hair.
The things that Ratha said just now were too much to wrap my head around too. But for now, I had to plan on what to do next to get stronger and not be eaten by monsters like the griffon. I could try to solve the mysteries of the universe when I had the time for that.
Ratha: “That is all we are allowed to say about the system. There have been cases where the staff of the Adventurers guild revealed too much information at once and it caused more damage than good.”
I could see where they were coming from my own parents were religious folk and if they found out that their gods were not real, that would break them. Worse would be them knowing that god doesn’t really want to help at all. While thinking about think a bulb lit up in me.
“Hey, so you said that there are gods right, so are there gods like Zeus and Poseidon?” I asked Ratha
Ratha: “I have seen the records of your world and yes some of them are real”
Walter: “So they will help us kill the monsters?”
Ratha: “......Usually they don’t”
Walter: “But many gods are from earth, they would come to save the planet right?”
Ratha: “It would have not been possible for anyone to awaken on earth and become a god since this planet didn’t have enough energy to be considered as Rank E.”
David: “What so gods are not going to save us, but… I believed in him for all my life. No that’s not true I know he will help us, HE WILL HELP ME” David started to yell towards the end of his sentence.
Luke took him to one of the benches and calmed him down.

Ratha: “Some powerful beings what you might call gods, help by rarely offering power to some individuals. But that happens very rarely and it’s almost impossible to happen on a Rank D planet.
Walter: “What about the military? They have missiles and stuff to fight the monsters.”
Ratha: “The system makes stuff similar to missiles inoperable for natives of the planet to transition better, Since these missiles don’t work on stronger monsters.”
Walter: “You mean nuclear weapons won’t work on monsters”
Ratha: “Nuclear……ohhh..that is a fascinating weapon, but no that weapon won’t be able to deal damage to a creature above Rank B.”
Hearing this instantly put a look of fear on everyone's face.
Ratha: “But the system also allows you to level up and get that strong too.”
Although hearing this didn’t cheer us up entirely, we tried our best to put on a forced smile.
Walter: “Then what Rank was the Griffon-looking creature we just saw”
Ratha: “Oh that Juvenile Griffon, which was outside the village just now was at lower C Rank”
Walter: “WHAT!!! You mean that huge ass monster is still going to grow bigger”
Listing to this Ratha laughed in amusement.
Ratha: “A fully grown adult Griffon can reach up to the height of 20ft and the power of upper B rank.”
Walter: “What the hell is up with this world? How are we supposed to fight against such crazy strong monsters”
Ratha: “You don’t have to! The system doesn’t allow monsters beyond C Rank to enter a newly awakened planet for around 6 months.
Walter: “6 more months to live! That's very nice to know! I am going to die a virgin” Walter said looking towards the roof.

Luke: “By the way, when we entered the village, the system said we can become its owner. Are you guys not the owner?”
Ratha: “Yes the village is ownerless so anyone can become its owner right now. For your second question, Although the adventures guild is inside the village but we are an independent organization, which can’t meddle in the village management.”
Ratha: “I would suggest registering as a village owner, it comes with a lot of benefits. First of which is money. And also later you could upgrade the village to a town, when you have enough resources”
We all looked at each other, thinking about who should become the village leader.
Luke: “Robin do you want to become the leader?”
When Luke asked me this question everyone looked at me. Having a village felt like a lot of responsibility, plus dealing with every kind of random problem that would come with the job didn’t really seem very attractive to me.
But it was still a very tough decision since I was not sure what other benefits having a Village could have, for a moment I felt like saying yes. But more than anything I wanted the freedom to do anything I wanted without giving much of a fuck about anyone else.
“No! I am not interested”
Lukes's group members had some mixed expressions. Since they knew that I was just a 16-year-old kid, it would have been hard for them to give a leading position to me, a younger person than them. But they probably also wanted me to be with them so they were having mixed feelings.
After my rejection, Luke's group had a short discussion among themselves, deciding on who should be the village leader.
Luke: “So we talked about It and since you guys don’t want it, I will be taking ownership of the village.” he told to me, Lily and Walter.
The moment Luke chose to be the village owner, the system pop-up I had about being a village owner disappeared.

Walter: “So what happened, what can you do now?”
Luke: “I can see some upgrades, but they all require gold”
Ratha: “I can help you with that! If you have monster corpses or body parts, you can get gold right now, But first I have to register you as adventurers.”
Since we didn’t find any fault with being an adventurer we all decided to register as one.
Ratha took out a crystal globe from her inventory and placed it on the desk.
Ratha: “Alright now, you just need to put your hands on the reading crystal and it will register you as an adventurer”
Walter: “Whoa! So is this going to check our power or something”
Ratha: “No, it’s just going to get your basic information, like name, age, and your mana wavelength to identify you later on”
We all placed our hands on the crystal one by one. The crystal ball gave a cold sensation, which you would expect from a shiny ball, but it also sent a tiny, almost unrecognizable electric jolt like feeling from my hands to my brain.
After all of us were done with the crystal ball. Ratha gave all of us a bronze card, the card was a little larger than a credit card but a little thicker, since it was actually made of bronze. Our names were written on it with black, but it didn’t look like paint, it was as if the black color was almost part of the metal.
The bronze card also had a large F written on the left side, which took around 30% of the card. Other than this what gave the card a great look was the slightly thicker edges.
