Bonus Chapter

It's currently summer here in Vermine Kingdom and today is the hottest one yet.

[Cricket Noise]

"I-It's so hot!" Komraad yelled while sitting on the balcony. He was covered in sweat and was about to pass out.

Everyone felt the same. Aircon and fans weren't invented in this world that's why I'm suffering too especially because I'm covered in fur.

I can actually transform back to my human form any time I want but it's a hassle and it drains my energy that's why I don't do it when it's unnecessary.

We were getting some fresh air on the balcony when Amalia showed up and offered us some beverages.

"Everyone! I prepared some cold drinks for all of you to enjoy."

"Thank you, Ms. Amalia," the girls said in unison.

we were enjoying the drinks but we were still not feeling the moment, it's like something is missing. We were bored because we have nothing to do, just sitting and ranting about the heat.

"Ugh... this sucks! I wish we could do something fun!" Komraad shouted.

"Mom, I'm bored," Fae said while being bothered by the heat. Rein and Astrid agreed.

*Sigh*

"Yeah, me too. During this time of the year, most people are on the beach enjoying but I guess beach is not a thing in this world," I answered.

"What do you mean Ina? We do have a beach here," Amalia said to me.

"Ehhhh?!? For real?!?"

"Yes, it's just hours away from the kingdom."

"R-really!?! T-then would you guys want to go there and have fun?!?"

"Do we!?!" Komraad and the girls said with so much excitement. It was obvious that they wanted to go.

"I mean, we don't have anything to do so let's just go and have fun for the day. I'll tell my husband to help with the preparations."

"Yeah let's do this!"

I helped Amalia and Miguel prepare everything that we need before going to the beach. We also asked Keith to get us some extra carriage because were also bringing the orphans with us so they too can enjoy.

Everything is set. Everyone prepared their things and was ready to depart. The only thing we were waiting for was the carriage.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

It took a while but the carriage finally arrived from the kingdom. Riding it was May and Raya. It seems they wanted to come with us too.

"Ms. Ina!" Raya shouted while waving her hand.

"Hi Raya, did you guys bring the things I asked Keith to prepare?"

"Yes Ms. Ina, we brought it but may I ask why you need a ball and a net?"

"I'll tell you later when we get there."

"Okay, tee-hee."

As soon as they arrived, everyone rode the carriage and started traveling towards the beach. I just hope we don't encounter something that might ruin our fun like monsters.

It's been hours but we finally arrived at our destination. The ocean was gorgeous and was very different from Earth. It really feels like I'm in a fantasy world.

Everyone was amazed by the place but the one who was the happiest was Raya. She was overwhelmed with joy. After all, it's her first getting out of the Kingdom, and it's her first time seeing the ocean.

"I-Its beautiful," she said while smiling with tears in her eyes.

"Yeah it is, and I promise I'll show you more of this," I told her while patting her head.

Everyone changed into their swimwear. Amalia prepared the food while Miguel took care of the orphans. The girls helped in the meantime but I excused myself for a while to prepare something else.

Komraad on the other hand immediately dived into the waters to swim.

With the net and ball that Keith provided, I'm going to set up so we could play beach volleyball. I guess they don't have that in this world that's why I'm gonna try and teach it to them.

It took a while but I finally finished setting up. The girls noticed what I was doing so they approached me to ask what it is.

"Mom, what are you doing?" Rein asked.

"Yeah, is that some kind of a game?" Astrid added.

"Oh girls, I'm glad you noticed. This is a game I use to play back in my old life. I wanna show you some of my culture that's why I'm doing this," I answered.

"Are we all gonna play then?" Fae asked.

"Yeah, we're all gonna play!"

"Can I join?!?" Raya asked.

"Of course!"

After everyone finished preparing, I called them all so I could explain the rules of the game.

I'm pretty confident in myself because I'm really good at playing volleyball. My professor kept on asking me to play during our intramurals when I was still a student that's why I'm pretty experienced with it.

After explaining the game and its rule, we divided the team by playing rock-paper-scissors.

My team consists of Raya, Astrid, and Miguel. We're up against Komraad, Rein, May, and Amalia. We were missing one player so I asked Fae to watch in the meantime and told her to look after the orphan kids while were playing.

"Go Mom, Sisters, everyone!" Fae cheered from afar.

"So all we have to do is hit the ball and not let it touch the ground, right? That's pretty easy if you asked me," Komraad boasted before starting the game.

"I mean t-that's the gist of the game but the rules indicate that-"

"Rules, rules! let's get started already!"

"T-this dog never changes, sigh."

Komraad was the first to serve the ball.

"Miguel, yours."

"On it."

Miguel was able to hit the ball back to them but May was fast enough to hit it too.

The ball was going towards Raya, it was traveling so fast that she had no choice but to dodge it.

The first point goes toward Komraad's team.

"I-Im sorry, Ms. Ina."

"Jeez, don't worry about it, we're just getting started, tee-hee."

Round two started. May served the ball. It was a normal serve and was directed at me.

"Mine," I shouted while hitting the ball. I applied a technique where the ball curves when hit and none of them expected it.

The second round goes to our team making the score one-one.

"That was amazing Mom!" Astrid cheered.

"Hehe, I'm not the champion of volleyball for nothing," I boasted.

It's our turn to serve the ball. I used another technique to catch them off guard. The ball was about to hit the ground when Amalia suddenly summoned a golem and was able to redirect the ball toward us.

"W-what! That's not fair! No using of magic!" I shouted.

"Huh? It wasn't indicated in the rules that magic isn't allowed in the game!" Komraad shouted back.

"U-ugh... fine if that's how you wanna play it then so be it!"

"Astrid!"

"On it Mom."

Astrid used her sword as a bat to bring the ball back to them but Rein was able to bounce it back using her magic by creating a bubble. The ball went flying.

"Don't worry, I got this," Raya said. She flew using her wings so she could reach the ball.

"Take this!" Raya hit the ball with everything she's got. May could easily deflect it but seeing how motivated Raya was, she just let the ball hit the ground.

"Good job, Raya," I said while patting her head.

"You did it, princess," May cheered.

"Gah, you're on our team, stop cheering the enemy!" Komraad shouted.

"Shut up, I'm on the Princess's side no matter what," May replied with a menacing look.

The score is now two-one. It's Miguel's turn to serve the ball.

"Honey, good luck," Amalia said with a poker face.

Miguel got shivers on his spine making him lose focus. He hit the ball without any force and it didn't even reach the net.

Miguel lost on purpose because he was scared of his wife. I don't blame him, Amalia can get scary sometimes.

The score is tied up again. We continued playing until the afternoon. In the end, no one won because no one followed the rules. Playing with everyone was so much fun and just doing something casually without a care in the world is a nice change of pace for us.

After playing with everyone, we ate, talked, and bathed all day until sunset. Our bonds together got stronger than ever.

We came home tired but were happy and satisfied.

I promise that every day will be like this for us and I'll protect this family no matter what.
