"Understood."
A sparse reply came back.
The black-robed man pushed open the door of the lab and walked straight in.
Without waiting long, his voice came out from within the lab.
"The examination will now begin, who is the first to sign up? Come in."
"It's me."
As soon as the words fell, the boy that Freya had seen in the hiring room earlier was the first to walk into the lab.
Only he just walked in not even a minute before he came out, his face was a bit ugly, and without saying a word, he directly bypassed the crowd and chose to leave.
It was obvious that the test had failed.
Those who have not yet been assessed watched his back as he left, their hearts were all a little drumming, not knowing what kind of assessment it was, actually brushing it off so quickly.
Freya looked at the boy's back as he left, but she keenly noticed that his hands, which were clean when he went in, were at the moment slightly smelling faintly fishy, and there were traces of water having been washed.
Just as she was contemplating what this small detail meant, the black-robed voice from the lab came again.
"The second one to come in, next time I won't call out one by one, as long as someone goes out, the following people come in consciously!"
The second one to sign up was naturally Freya, she withdrew her sight and slightly straightened her somewhat wrinkled robe, then pushed open the door of the lab and walked in.
Compared to the dim sight of the corridor outside, the laboratory was much brighter.
A huge metal lab bench, two rows of metal racks with all kinds of potions and experimental instruments, below the metal racks were a bunch of cages covered with black cloth, Freya could vaguely see from the gaps that there were some unknown living creatures inside, and the strong smell of disinfectant water mixed with the smell of fish emanated from these cages.
In the standard laboratory, there was no figure of the black-robed sorcerer who led the way before, but instead, another strange man also wearing a black robe with a deathly grey face was standing there.
At this moment, he was holding a list in his hands and looking at it.
Finding Freya coming in, the man raised his head and faintly swept her a glance, his expression somewhat cold and said.
"I am the Necromancy Department Instructor Leander. Freya. Grimm, the information shows that you are a second class apprentice of the Positive Energy Department right?"
"Yes." Freya nodded, the employment information had her basic profile on it. It could be seen directly whenever a mentor chose to do so.
He seemed to be comparing the apprentice profile in his hand, and before long he put it away in his hand and said faintly.
"Then there's no problem, let's start the assessment now."
Then he gently snapped his fingers.
A cold as if substantial black fog appeared out of thin air on that metal lab table, the black thick fog rolled over as if it was a struggling resentful spirit, even if it was far away from that metal table. Freyja could feel the rich aura of death in it. It made her involuntarily shiver.
But soon the black mist dispersed, and a fist-sized colourful spider and a standard set of dissection instruments appeared on the lab table.
The spider was alive, and just as soon as it appeared, it tried to immediately jump up and escape. However, it was instantly trapped on the lab bench by an invisible force, lying on its back and struggling to emit a squeaky, ear-piercing cry.
"I hired an experimental assistant, although the usual work isn't very difficult, but it also requires the appropriate knowledge of anatomy, now I want you to dismember it within a minute and remove the poison sacs from it intact, understand."
Freya quietly listened to the assessment. Nodding her head.

Eyes, however, were fixed on the spider on the lab table.
This creature, which she had seen in the study of all things, was an ordinary poison gland coloured spider living in the humid zone, not a magical creature but an ordinary arthropod.
The body structure itself wasn't very complicated, but it was a no-brainer for some beginners just dissecting it.
Although Freya herself is an apprentice of the positive energy department, but the basic knowledge she involves is very broad, even some talented apprentices may not be able to catch up with her in terms of basic knowledge. Of course there is also dabbling in elementary anatomy.
And the content of this examination is more than the remuneration. It was also considered appropriate.
Watching Freya walk to the lab bench, Leander took out a transparent hourglass from behind him. Inverted it.
"One minute, starting now."
Freya glanced at the fine sand in the hourglass slowly flowing down to the bottom, and gently inhaled.
Then she skilfully found a sharp knife in the utensil and steadily sliced towards the spider's limb.
Although it was her first time dissecting a creature, with her peak Knight's strength and general knowledge of such creatures, dissecting it wasn't that difficult.
Soon, the limbs were neatly set aside as she sliced along the gaps, followed by the more complex carapace.
The outer skin of the spider was gently picked apart without touching the internal organs inside.
The coloured spider was still alive at this point, its strong vitality causing it to keep letting out squeaky, ear-piercing screams, but the hands of spells around it held it firmly in place.
Freya frowned slightly, put down the knife in her hand, took out a thin needle from those implements, and stabbed it directly towards the spider's head, and the miserable screams came to an abrupt end.
This kind of behaviour made the Leonid beside him raise an eyebrow, his dead grey face moved slightly, but he didn't say anything.
Paying no attention to the subtle look of Leander beside her, Freya quickly proceeded to separate the spider's internal organs and exoskeleton one by one in the order she had in mind, and arranged them in order on the metal table.
Finally, in the spider's head, she used tweezers to clip out two red round sacs and placed them in the pre-prepared tray.
The hourglass was a quarter of the way through at the moment.
The dissection was over.
Freya put down the dissection instruments in her hands and stood to the side, waiting for his evaluation.
Leander swept a glance at the things on the lab table, revealing a satisfied look as he raised his head and said to Freya.
"Very good, it's really rare to do this level of dissection as an apprentice of the Positive Energy Department, and to know how to destroy the spider's vocal organs in order to stay undisturbed during the dissection, even though it accidentally killed the spider by accident, this kind of awareness is still good."
Listening to Leander's comment, Freya froze.
For her stabbing at the spider just now, she simply didn't want it to suffer too much pain, but she didn't expect it to be another layer of meaning in Leander's eyes, but it was no less appreciated.
"Alright, you passed the test, next sign the employment contract."
Said Leander took out a piece of parchment and quill and placed it in front of Freya.
Freya read the specifics on the parchment, it was just a general form of employment contract conditions, pretty much the same as what she had seen on the mission board, so she signed her name with alacrity.
"This is a six-month contract, if I need you as an experimental assistant within that time, you will be notified in advance, at which time you must report to work on time or you will have to pay me the amount of liquidated damages, for now you may leave and wait for notification."
