He was late. Way too late. His class started at 9:30 and he was 30 minutes late. How could he let this happen.
“What the fuck was I doing?” Miche asked himself while running.
Eventually he reached the class, calmed himself down outside, and entered casually.
“Mr Darius. You’re late.”
“I’m really sorry professor. It won’t happen again.”
“I’m going to have to ask you to stay behind after class later. But for now, find a partner.”
Luckily, no one was too focused on their conversation as everyone was talking and finding partners for the next project.
Miche was an artist and sadly he wasn’t really the most popular person in the class. His skills were highly rated but it was not enough to get the girls fawning over him like he fantasised. Being lonely can really get to a man.
While sitting there, brooding about his life, someone walked over. Everyone in the class turned over to them and was shocked that she would even consider talking to someone as low as Miche.
“Miche, lets partner up. I’m sure we can work very well together.” she smiled.
Miche looked up and saw Erica. The most pretty, most popular girl on campus. Miche never really understood why she would choose art since she didn’t do it in high school but at least his life was looking up a bit. The fact that someone like her could look at him and his brown scruffy and curly hair heightened his spirits a little.
A few days passed and as Miche slightly suspected, Erica pushed most of the project work onto him. They texted each other here and there but Miche was the only one doing work. It was around 7 pm and Miche had just finished his part of the project. He was exhausted and tired.

A ding sound went off in his pocket and he checked his phone. Erica wrote that she wanted him to do half of her work for her immediately. From what he read, he would get nothing in return. Due to being pampered by boys all her life she expected him to just accept it with no reward besides maybe a touch on the shoulder. A now enraged Miche packed up his stuff and went over to her art locker in the room. No one was around and Miche couldn’t hold in his anger.
“Who does this bitch think she is? I really thought she might have been interested in working with me but I guess she was only after my skill. How stupid could I be!”
He grabbed a bucket of water and mixed it with water colouring and threw the coloured water into her locker. He then began vandalising the inside of the locker with a paint brush.
“She deserves it for looking down on me.” He thought to himself satisfied.
He slammed her locker door and made sure not to leave any trace of evidence besides the inside of the locker. It looked normal from outside but the inside was a complete mess.
He walked home in the chilly night, exhausted but happy for what he did. He had never down something so bad in his life but I guess all of his emotions boiled over.
“I wonder what mom made for dinner?” He asked himself.
As he walked, a blue portal suddenly appeared in front of him. Miche couldn’t believe his eyes. It was like something straight out of the video games he always played. Was the cold driving him nuts, did his anger make him hallucinate?
Something small came flying out of the portal. It hit him in the leg and Miche looked down at it, startled by the sudden pain.
“A tranquilliser dart?”
His legs became weak and he fell down on the floor. He looked up at the dark figure wearing an overcoat came out. The figure injected him in the neck with a syringe and Miche began to pass out, hearing nothing but ringing in his ears and odd words from the figure.
Miche opened his eyes. He was staring at the roof of a white room. He looked to his left and saw his mother sleeping in a chair. He could see tubes coming out of his arm and had tubes coming out of his nose as well. He was definitely in a hospital and could only remember the dark figure in an overcoat being the last thing he saw.
