Chapter 2: Nothing can beat this!

“Well, That was a complete rollercoaster for me. Ah well, best not let that get to me, he wanted me, not some other guy. Alright, time to head to the city.” Alexander said.

The walk was the kind of walk alexander loved, not too far, relaxed, and with ambient sounds subtler than some guy blasting rap music out of car. Deep breath in. Deep breath out. “~Ahh~. This is nice. I already like this world. Oh yeah, I wonder, what else was I left with?” And so, upon wanting to check his inventory,

“I’m just going to stop there.” Alexander said, not wanting to bother with seeing what probably amounted to too many weapons to count, and slightly surprised at just how much he was given. He did however change out of the cargo pants and t-shirt he was wearing and changed into the {Midnight Eclipse Robe} and {Baggy Clothes}, which fit in more with the current world.

A little while later, he made it to outside the city. It was definitely what could be called a city, a decently sized wall above it, with sentry towers manned by archers and mages. When he got to an opening in the form of a portcullis, there was a woman in armor standing there. She was wearing Iron armor up to her neck, and was loosely holding an Iron tipped spear at her side. She looked to be quite young, probably in her extremely early twenties or late teens, with a pretty face, and purple hair and purple eyes that seemed not fully awake and quite bored. Wait, Purple? The god forgot to mention that hair and eyes went through the full color spectrum here.

“What’s your business here stranger?” She said, her tone showing clear surprise, while also properly gripping the spear.

“Oh yeah,” Alexander thought to himself “What will I do? Being a hero is too much trouble, being an adventurer is literally living off of trouble and it’s too much hassle. Ah Hah! I’ll be a merchant. Nice, easy life.” He thought to himself.

“I’m here to start my career as a Merchant,” Alexander said,

“Oh, Alright then, Just show me your Identification and pay the two bronze fee.” She said, her voice sounding more relaxed.

“Oh, I ~uhh~, Don’t have any Identification.” Alexander said,

“That can be solved easily, I just need somebody to take my shift while I escort you to the Merchant’s Guild to get you registered over there.” She said, slightly surprised.

“Oh thank you, let me pay you the toll right now.” He put his hand behind his cloak even though it had no pockets, hoping the god thought to- He did. The god took a third of the gold and converted it to Copper ahead of time, and converted another third to silver. Alexander regretted not hugging that guy while he could. He then pulled out two copper coins from his inventory, the things just appearing from nowhere, and pulled out his hand from behind the robe and handed the coins to the lady.

“Here you go.” Alexander said with a relaxed smile.

“Alright, stay here while I wake up the other guy.” She then went over to the other side of the gate, and after a few minutes, came back with another guard, who was wearing the same kind of iron armor, had long Blonde hair tied up in a ponytail behind his head, and a tanned face.

“Thanks Billy, We’re even now!” She said teasingly.

“I keep telling you Sarah, It’s Bill!” He replied, sounding slightly annoyed.

They walked off through the city until they passed by the market and were stopped by a man selling out fruits out of a stand. He had a good natured, friendly face, with black hair and purple eyes.

“Hey, Sarah! Who’s that boy you’re with? You didn’t tell me about a new Boyfriend.” He called out.

“Dad! He’s a new merchant who didn’t have any Identification, so I’m escorting him to the Merchant’s Guild to get him registered.”

“Ah, I see!” Her father said “You sure he’s not a thief?”

“I’m sure! Besides, you know I have the highest Agility out of the entire sentry division at Thirty-Five.” She said, emphasizing the thirty-five, sounding proud of herself.

“Alright then, No need to go flaunting your Stats now. Just wanted to make sure one of my two beautiful daughters is safe when I could.” He said with a kind, fatherly smile.

“See you Dad!” Sarah said to her father.

“Alright, Let’s keep moving.” She then said to Alexander. “Oh yeah” Alexander thought “That stat talk reminds me, I haven’t turned my passives on yet, best do that now with a quick thought. All Passives Except for , , , and on. Okay, that’s better.”

A little time later, they got to the Merchant’s Guild’s main building. It was a three story high building, with a large, wooden, oval shaped sign on the outside with the words “Merchant’s Guild” written on the sign. Alexander went in first, followed by Sarah. The first room was a small reception area, with a wooden desk. The woman behind the desk had long brown hair and green eyes.

“Hello, We’re here because this man is a beginning merchant with no Identification so we would like to register him.” Sarah said

“Oh I see. In that case, I just need him to fill out this form, return it, and pay a fifteen copper fee.” The Receptionist Lady said, while handing him a form asking for his Name, Race, Gender, Age, and Occupation and three minutes later, he returned it with the copper.

After a few seconds of looking it through, she took out a thin, blue card out a drawer in her desk and waved it over the paper a few times, and then handed him the card.

Name Alex Ander Race Human Gender Male Age 16 Occupation Merchant

She handed him the Card “Thank you for registering at the Selmia City office of the Merchant’s Guild, Mr. Ander. The age on the card automatically updates with magic, although it will take the Mp from you, but it’s only 1 Mp so there’s no harm, Have a Nice day.”

“Okay then, I need to get back to my station now. You owe me one!” Sarah said while on her way out.

“Thanks, I’ll think of something.” Alex Responded with. Alex then realized “Man, I haven’t eaten all day.” And left the Merchant’s guild Office to find lunch.

----------------------------------------

A little later after some wandering, Alex came upon an open air market with some wonderful smells coming from it. So many foods, such limited stomach space! “Where to eat, where to eat… Oh! I’ve wanted to try kebabs, let’s try the ones that guy is selling!” Alex thought.

“Hello sir, How for much for one of those?” He gestured to the slightly off colored meat that was mostly reminiscent of beef.

“Oh! Um, ~Cough~ Excuse me, five Copper per Skewer.” The man running the stall said.

“I’ll take three.” Alex said, putting his hand into his Robe that didn’t have pockets but pulling out fifteen Copper coins anyway.

“Wha~Cough~ of course,” he took three skewers “Here you go sir."

“Thank you Sir.” Alex said as he put the copper down.

“Never thought I’d see someone so eager to eat Kobold.” The vendor muttered to himself when Alex was out of earshot.

Alex found a table at the Market near the stall, and sat down to enjoy his Skewers. He tried a small portion at first and said to himself “~Mmm~, this isn’t bad.”, and he started happily eating his lunch, unaware to the sixteen year old blonde long haired girl on the other side of the market, staring at him with wide, light aqua blue eyes, body frozen in complete terror, desperately trying to will herself to get away.
