The EMP is just a shortened name for an electromagnetic pulse, which is able to disturb any electronic device in the radius.
To create one, you need multiple parts, namely the ones I screamed: an energy source(battery), capacitators, a trigger(the gap between electrodes), an electromagnetic coil(the Ferris-wheel)-which acts as an antenna-and conductive wiring(the copper coil).
All these things may seem easy to build, but the mechanics within them are very complex, that's why it took [FMC] so long to build to last two parts.
But why use an EMP you ask?
Well by looking closely at the flowers, I can see that explosions happen, but not just explosions occur, flashes also occur. It seemed to me that these flashes were special-specifically, they were arc flashes, which are only produced by electrical explosions, which means that each flower has to be powered by some sort of electrical power, and not just pure gunpowder. Coming to that conclusion, I deduce that the growing fruit on the tree is somehow giving electricity to other objects, so creating an EMP was the best bet.
Back at the battlefield, after the shockwave occurred, each flower that made contact with the shockwave froze in the air, and fell to the ground, with some smoke coming out from the top of the flowers. Watching this sight made me feel a lot better, and I sat down watching flowers drop from the sky.
"That was close, a little too close [FMC]"
"Well at least it was done...Oh, and I can see now"
After waiting for a while, looking across the cavern, the flowers cover the whole cavern, almost like how a cherry blossom tree sheds its leaves.
With all the smoke gone, it's actually quite a beautiful sight.
Soon enough, the electromagnetic pulse reaches the fruit. The fruit drops from the massive tree's leaves and lands on the ground, surrounding by pink petals scattered across the floor. I walk towards the fruit and pick it up, getting a new notification,
I put it away for now, saving it for some other occasion, but looking up at the mantis, it seems unharmed, and instead screeches once more.
The trees branches seem to rotate in a circle, by about 120 degrees, and the next two fruits are visible in its leaves. Both of these fruits start to emit an orange light, and soon enough, they seem to be fully activated.
I also hear a thumping sound in the background, but as I watch carefully at the fruits, one of them suddenly shoots a beam of light. I jump out of the way dodging the attack, but when the beam hits the ground, it bounces off and ricochets to the ceiling. The beam is nowhere near where I am, but it continuously bounces off the caverns walls and ceilings, for an indefinite amount of time.
Another beam is produced and I dodge it again, but it just keeps bouncing. I hear a sound behind me and quickly jump out of the way as the first beam bounces back towards me.
I have to deal with that?!
Its just more pain and torture--not as much as the first heart though...
Five minutes have past, and around eight of those beams are bouncing behind me. Thankfully I have regained most of my stamina, so I'm able to dodge the attacks, but I decide to attack to fruits to see what will happen. I shoot at a bullet at the beam-shooting fruit but the second fruit creates a barrier right in front of it. The barrier also seemed to be made out of some sort of light...is it electricity again?
"Yo, can you build another EMP?"
Before she could answer, I remember something from before.
I look at the gallery section of my menu and see an EMP schematic. I click on it, and it automatically creates an image of an EMP in front of me. I was able to move it around, change its size and scaling factors, and decide to shoot an anchor bullet at it. The schematic gets instantly created, and after [FMC] shot an activation bullet at it, the EMP was already built.
"So its a quick build function?"
"YES! I don't need to build another one of those things ever again!"
Of course, I built the EMP in such a way that one of those beams would activate it, and right when the beam made contact, a shockwave was created, destroying all the beams and the shield created by the second fruit.
The EMP was the perfect counter to this mantis, and realizing that the two last fruits would be lost soon, instead of leaving them out to attack, it does something else that is very disgusting. It brings its legs upwards and twists it at an odd angle, raising it above its body. Electrical currents surge along its legs and its whole body jerks randomly, as if it is having spasms, its legs now moving uncontrollably until finally it stops twitching. The mantis's legs suddenly launch forward, not at me, but to itself. It stabbed itself in the chest creating a gaping hole that drips blood, the electrical currents shooting throughout its body. The remaining two fruits are pulled within the mantis and are floating within its body while the mantis itself seems to look more like an automaton with electricity sparks from its body. It jumps from the shelter of the tree, and lands in front of me, fighting its last fight.
I quickly build a surface and shoot a bullet towards the mantis, but the bullet gets vaporized in the air before it reaches it. The mantis comes towards me, but is so fast that I could barely see it. I retreat backwards, but an electrical spark grazes my arm. My whole arm goes numb, and lies limp at my side.

"Create another EMP!"
The EMP is built and I bring the electricity from my arm towards the two electrodes, but the mantis jumps in blocking the path. The mantis slices at me with its scythes, but I create another electrode to conduct the electricity to the EMP. The EMP gets powered and stuns the mantis for a couple seconds. I take this opportunity to get behind the mantis, since the mantis was obviously defending something, its True Heart. It may seem that the mantis's fruits are the targets, but in the explanation, it only has one True Heart, and this heart should be within the tree.
The best way to cut through a tree with little effort? A chainsaw.
I build the structure for an automatic chainsaw with the time I had from the stun and after its created, I lunge towards the tree. I lodge the chainsaw in the right side of the tree, and leave it there to do its work while I just have to live for a couple of minutes.
The mantis already regained its mobility, and when I turn back around I see the mantis looming above me. I roll out of the way to get behind the cover of the tree and dance around the tree to defend against the mantis's attack, hoping it'll cut the tree in the frenzy, but it seems to have gotten smarter, not fully committing to each attack. I look back at the chainsaw, and see that it has made its way to the first quarter of the tree stump. The mantis sees this as well, and attempts to get close and pull the chainsaw away, but I tell [FMC] to create another EMP, which is quickly built in record time.
The EMP gets activated, and the mantis is again stunned by the electrical discharge, but this time, for a lot shorter time. From its back, I see one of those fruits fly out, and as the mantis ejects the fruit, it regains consciousness quickly, cleansing it of its disability. I run to catch the fruit, putting it in my inventory with the first fruit, but surprisingly the mantis seems to have gotten flustered as I grabbed its heart. It swipes at me in the air but its movements have dulled, its attacks easily avoidable, and I could see the end of the battle.
The chainsaw had gotten halfway through the tree, and was cutting faster then ever as the tree stump thins out. The mantis didn't have the time to attack me, so in a last-ditch effort, the mantis rips off its left leg and throws it at me, but I create a triple-layered shield in front of me, stopping the scythe in its path. The scythe's electrical currents are traveling through the shield, but I still hold my gun in place, ignoring the pain in my arm.
I feel the strength of the scythe lessen but the mantis rips off its other leg, throwing it at me at even faster speeds.
"[FMC] HURRY, create another layer of shields."
The shields are created and filled right as the scythe was getting close, but even more pressure is pushed upon me. One by one the layers break, and the electrical current gets stronger and stronger. I look at the chainsaw, and see that it has almost cut through the tree, and with the last of my energy I hold onto the shields for just a bit longer.
The numbing spreads through my body, and only two layers of the shields are left. My legs are beginning to collapse, and cracks are forming on the front layer of the shield. I fall with one knee against the ground as the second layer of the shield collapses. Cracks are already beginning to form on the last layer, electrical sparks are shooting everywhere, breaking the walls of the cavern and creating holes in the ground.
My eyes are blinded by all the light being created and I stay there waiting for the impact, but I feel the pressure on my arm almost immediately dissipate. Silence ensures, and the chainsaw has stopped moving, as it cut cleanly through the trees stump and lay broken on the ground. The scythes lose their power, and the mantis collapses, its last heart floating out of its body and landing in my hands. The majestic tree begins to fall, but before the tree hits the ground, its descent slows and the tree turns into small particles which soon are absorbed by the mantis.
The mantis slowly starts glowing, and the bright light blinds my eyes once more. When I open my eyes, I see a little girl lying on the floor, with bright pink hair flowing down to her knees. Two intricate buns on her head can be seen on the left and right of her head, with floral decorations resembling those of orchid petals. She had large eyes, closed in deep sleep, with skin so pale and smooth and elongated ears like those of an elfish-nature.
On her head was a floral crown, with green leaves woven into the variety of flowers which had their petals curled outwards. From her ears dangled earrings, with tiny pink crystals hanging at the bottom of these chains. Around her neck was a lace choker made of white petals, tied with a thin golden chain, presenting a bright pink gem resembling an orchid flower.
Her arms were adorned with delicate armlets of floral patterns, and white translucent soft fabric trail down from above her elbow. Bracelets featuring small flowers and leaf charms can be seen on her wrists, with tiny pearls present in the middle of the flowers. The flower patterns and placement of these decorations were different, and her hands coated with transparent lace gloves embroidered with floral patterns.
Her dress flowed from her shoulders to her thighs, held up by laces hung around her shoulders. A large pink bow was tied around her waist, with colors of jeweled-white wrapped around her waist, and other ribbons of green and blue color cascade down her skirt. The center of her bow held lots of miniature orchid flowers, and her bright pink skirt with multiple folds in it dropping right above her knees. Small orchids are sewn into the edges of her skirt, with these embellishments highlighting the beauty of nature.
Her legs were bare, with the armlets from her wrists similarly around her ankles. Her shoes had a small bowtie on the front lace, and a flower on the tip of the shoe. The shoes had white and pink laces wrapped around her ankles, and up her legs....
We don't talk about that.
But as I was examining this girl, I see her pinkish-red eyes flutter, and instantly jump backwards afraid of being misunderstood. As she was waking up, I hear a notification,
Wait hold up.
TUTORIAL!?!
That was only the beginning...?
...
I was crying about the fact that that was a tutorial boss, but I hear a small voice whisper,
"Where...am I?"
