The Bilby seemed enraged by that fact that it hasn't even killed one of us yet.

I mean, I would be too, but that is its own problem.

Me personally, I was pleasantly surprised. This boss wasn't nearly as bad as the Mantis; it didn't have any attacks I really needed to parry, and dodging its other attacks was fairly simple.

The one thing that is annoying is how fast this thing is, like how are you even supposed to hit it when its tunneling around like that...

Well anyway, the ground itself was now more holes than actual rock, and soon enough we have to knock this thing out before the whole floor disappears.

The tail itself was a big portion of the Bilby, I believe it to be about 70% of its total body length, but the guide said the tip of the tail was the weak point, which is a very small target. Even more so its tail is thin and also tapers down leaving only a speck to hit.

Now here's a tip for all you guys who play video games: Whenever you want to hit something small on a large body, either electrocute the whole body or burn the whole body up; those are the quickest and easiest strategies to pull off.

With this in mind I've already told [FMC] to set up a small project, and the whole floor was filling up with anchor points, with the intent of creating wood and oil. With a dwarf like Kom here, he should be able to easily start a fire, so I wait for the Bilby to attack. The fire will spread a long way, so I did not need to worry about its exact location, just the general direction, and when I can hear that familiar scratching sound above my head I fill the ground with the highly flammable fatwood. Kom brings out his axe and grabs a nearby rock smashing them together, creating a small spark, and right as the Bilby appears, the wood catches fire and spreads to the Bilby. I myself was a long distance away, but Kom has worked in the forge for long enough to not be harmed by the flaming oil.

Bilbies are initially known to be not susceptible to fire, but I have already planned ahead. Some of the cotton from the net was still stuck to the Bilby, and this cotton was a special type of cotton-namely untreated cotton-which catches fire easily and burns massive flames. The Bilby itself probably believed to be safe from the fire, deciding to attack us directly, but looked genuinely shocked when it caught on fire, and quickly retreated back into its hole. But this time, I was ready to pursue it.

"Carry us up!"

Ranko flies toward Kom and picks him up as we fly into a tunnel in the ceiling. We chase down the Bilby who was leaving behind flaming bits of cotton and are unable to catch it due to its incredible speed, but that's not what I'm here for. If we entered the tunnels while the Bilby was unharmed, it would definitely chase us and kill us since it was vastly more familiar with these tunnel systems, but now that it is on the run, we have some time to prepare a trap. As we fly through the tunnels, Kom is leaving a trail of gunpowder behind us. We go to as many openings as we could to scatter gunpowder along the floor, and a whole system of gunpowder was created in the ceiling of the cavern.

"Fly out!"

Ranko quickly retreats and we return back into the cavern, standing on one of the last pieces of rock in the cave.

Now, its just a waiting game.

The pieces of cotton that the Bilby left in the tunnels were still burning, and while I was up there, I created a fuse leading the fire to the gunpowder.

Of course, committing a little bit of arson is fine rrrrrrrright...?

Then the boom came.

The first section that we dusted with gunpowder blew up, breaking apart the rocks in the ceiling, falling towards the ground into the tunnels the Bilby created. More explosions can be heard and more rocks fell, filling the ground with stone.

With just that trail of gunpowder, the whole ceiling above is about to fall apart. After waiting for all explosions to occur, I finally see the Bilby fall from the ceiling. It got caught up in the explosions and was knocked unconscious, landing motionless on the ground.

Haha! Got you there!

Kom walks up and says,

"So this is what you were, huh?"

He grins and raises his axe, about to deal the finishing blow, but before it lands, I intervene to stop him.

"Do not let this animal fool you. I bet it'll come back alive with another set of dumb attacks. Although the first phase wasn't that bad..."

"Oh really?"

I nod my head in confirmation, and decide to sit down waiting for it to revive.

In the meantime, I ask [FMC],

"Did you watch the recording of the Orchid Mantis?"

"I did. The stage was really amazing...with the massive tree and the cavern underground."

"It's a lot nicer when you see it up close."

"I was also able to move around in the recording somehow, like a spectator. Here, look at this funny image of your face."

She sent an image of me and I get slightly ticked off by the image.

"You can do that?"

"Mhm. Send me more videos, I already started a collection of that funny face of yours."

"Baaa. Whatever. This fight was kind of boring, no?"

"Yeah, I didn't do much, and it wasn't as physically or mentally taxing as the Mantis, do you think this is some sort of mini boss?"

"I don't know, all I want is to defeat it; look at it sleeping right now, I bet its about to wake up again."

I throw a rock at the Bilby, teasing it a little bit, but right as the rock was about hit, its head snapped, and crushed to rock into dust.

"Uh..."

The Bilby stood up and shook its fur, realizing that its trap wouldn't work a second time.

A notification appeared,

"So we just made it really mad, right?"

"I guess so."

Kom, Ranko, and myself jump away to a safe distance, brandishing our weapons about to attack, but the Bilby turns upside down and gets into a handstand-like pose. It starts digging, and digging, eventually spinning so fast I could only see a blur, and the ground beneath us is eaten up.

Yes, the whole floor.

Ranko quickly turns into a mantis catching both Kom and I as we fall down into the unknown, eventually landing in front of what seemed to be an overgrown building. A sign hanging from above said "Ku la u o Mall" but it was tilted and almost broken into pieces.

We land safely on the ground, and with nowhere else to go, walk into the building, wary of our surroundings.

Many old pillars and walls stood, with plants growing on even the rocks, but lots of flat space could be seen. Old stores and old constructions were everywhere, with electricity sparks flying from signs and metal poles collapsed in piles.

Walking farther into the mall and climbing some broken escalators, I reach a large flat surface. A glass ceiling somehow emits light, illuminating the spot where I stood, and a cross was seen as the pattern in the ceiling. Looking in all four directions, escalators led downwards to various shops that seemed to extend to no end, all ruined and fallen.

While the three of us stood in the middle of the platform looking upwards, rocks started falling from the ceiling.

A perfectly healthy Bilby fell through and landed on the glass ceiling, causing the building to shake under the pressure.

The glass did not break under the Bilby's weight, but something extraordinary happened. The Bilby started scratching the glass, but looking at its movements, it didn't seem to be trying to break the glass. Instead, lines started appearing in the glass, and words started to form.

All three of us stood silent waiting for it to finish, and once the Bilby leapt away, we read the words scrawled across the ceiling.
