H. Chapter 13

A blood-headed boar was charging towards Liu Ye and Su Maoxian with its tusks bared at them menacingly. It was a bulky, robust beast with its fur stained with fresh blood. It had a thick red skin, with its sharp lower and upper tusks covered in a mixture of dried blood and dust. The beast's height is nearly as tall Liu Ye's waist.

The blood-headed boar slowed its pace, emitting a piercing, high-pitched cry. The first level mid-tier beast’s intuition is alarmed after sensing Su Maoxian’s aura.

Liu Ye stopped retreating after listening to the notification. Su Maoxian, who was threatening the beast with his aura, questioned Liu Ye, “Why are you stopping? Let's retreat quickly.”

“That’s only a mid-tier beast. We can kill it.” Liu Ye replied as he changed into an attacking pose.

“Stop!” Shouted Su Maoxian.

Seeing Liu Ye not caring about its threatening, the blood headed boar's skin instantly became more red, and blood started dripping from its fur. It lunged at Liu Ye.

Liu Ye clenched his fists while still adjusting his stance to attack. The blood headed boar drew closer to Liu Ye, it lowered its head and when it reached him the beast swung its head to stab him with its tusks.

-Thud- Su Maoxian gave a powerful blow to its head. The blood on its fur, burned his hands upon contact. The blood headed boar squealed in pain. It lost its balance and almost fell on its side.

“Liu Ye, are you insane?” Su Maoxian shouted furiously at Liu Ye.

Looking at the raging Su Maoxian, Liu Ye shouted back, “Why are you yelling at me? I just want to fight it.”

The boar’s eyes turned blood-red, and it swayed while trying to move, with its steps landing unsteadily. Liu Ye looked at the boar was about to land a blow. Su Maoxian held his arm and fled to a distance from the boar.

“Can’t you discuss with me? I will let you fight another beast. Let me kill it.” Su Maoxian suggested with fury. He couldn’t stand the reckless behaviour of Liu Ye any more.

“It is just a first level mid-tier beast. I am fully capable of killing the boar on my own.” Liu Ye retorted.

“Sorry, I don’t want to know about that now.” Su Maoxian said loudly. “A mid-tier beast can kill a human in the top tier of its realm. That’s all I want to care about.”

Liu Ye held his hand and said to him, “Let me fight it. You can protect me if I can’t handle the boar.”

“No, I won’t. I am not experience in fights or hunting to know when is a dangerous situation.” Su Maoxian refuted.

The crazed blood-headed boar erratically stepped towards Liu Ye. It was about to stab its tusks at Liu Ye who charged at the unbalanced boar when Su Maoxian was busy arguing. He ran to the left side of the beast. -Thud- Liu Ye's left fist met its body and the impact stumbled the blood-headed boar causing it to crash to the ground.

The blood headed boar shook its head, its thick skin started to turn more red with blood flowing from all over its body. The beast was confused and enraged. It tried to lift its head and bite Liu Ye’s lower body. The boar struggled to rise from the ground.

Liu Ye just stepped back and shouted at Su Maoxian, “Thanks for the punch earlier. I can deal with this beast.” He violently stomped on the leg of the beast. -Snap- The boar’s feet snapped. It let out a miserable cry while kicking its legs in all directions and slamming its head against the ground in torment.

-Thud- -Thud- -Thud- Liu Ye hit the top of its head. With every hit the blood-headed boar’s head left an imprint into the soil.

The blood headed boar squealed, it couldn't bear the pain and tried to kick Liu Ye away, but to no avail. Liu Ye adjusted his position and pressed his knees on its shoulders. He bent down and swiftly choked the neck of the blood-headed boar with his right hand and caught the back of its jaw with his left hand and tried to forcefully rotate it.

The blood headed boar cried in pain with Liu Ye forcefully turning its head. The beast tried to free itself from his grip and kick him away its legs fiercely, but it couldn't move its front legs. While Liu Ye was forcefully rotating its head, he tightened the grip on its neck with each movement of the beast.

-Crack- After a low sharp breaking sound from its neck, Liu Ye freed his hands. The blood-headed boar squealed in a low voice. Liu Ye gave a last heavy stomp on its neck. The blood-headed boar lost its breath.

Liu Ye sat down on the side to catch his breath.

It isn't easy to kill a blood-headed boar, without a sharp weapon to pierce its thick skin and flesh. But still Liu Ye fought without any weapon as he wasn't too convenient using weapons. The sword was always a last resort for him.

The burning pain turned his attention to his arm. He ignored the pain during the fight, but now the sharp pain cannot be ignored.

“How’s the pain? You didn’t have to face it.” Su Maoxian taunted him. He passed a healing cream to Liu Ye.

“This is a wasted opportunity. I didn’t feel any thrill when killing it.” Liu Ye said with disappointed. “Can you apply the cream, it hurts when I move my arms.”

“The pain will be the thrill you are looking for.” Su Maoxian threw the healing cream at him. He was seething in anger with Liu Ye’s reckless behaviour. “If you wanted a fight, you could have discussed with me earlier. You didn’t say anything about confronting the beasts yourself in the valley. Our plan was to reach the Blazing Parasol tree safely.”

“This beast was weak. I had no plans to fight a beast before, but this beast was too weak and suitable for me to practise against. You can leave beasts like these to me if we confront them again.” Liu Ye cleaned his hands with water handed to him by Su Maoxian and started applying the healing cream.

“That beast was not weak compared to your realm. If I had not injured it with my punch in the first place, you might have had a hard time battling with it. And we are going deeper into the valley, you shouldn’t look forward to confronting the beasts. Let us just avoid the beasts altogether.” Su Maoxian said with irritation.

“Okay, fine.” Liu Ye answered. “We can fill our stomachs with this boar.”

“Can this be eaten?” Su Maoxian asked while pointing at the body of the boar.

“Yes.”
