Arc 1 Prologue - The Royal “We”
“We have met before, you and Us,” a disembodied voice rang in the infinite white void.
“...” The man had no response to the Deity shrouded in everlasting light. It was only those two in the stage of void where a man kneeling in front of someone who could not be seen due to such light.
“You don’t remember, my old friend?” The Deity asked.
Finally, he mustered the courage to speak from the soul, “There’s a lot I don’t understand. Humans were created to be forgetful. How, my King, can I possibly remember?”
“...”
No reply was uttered and the man’s face stood blank. He had a cold gaze with pupils dilated. The eyes are the window to the soul. His eyes were cold and intimidating, and anyone who met his gaze would instinctively look away.
Indifferent.
This was the nature of a man that has killed people, some would say, “murdered.”
“There is much on your mind?” The Deity continued.
“My mind is filled with thoughts of you. Forgive me, for I find it difficult to speak of such things,” the man kneeled, his heart beating out of control.
“My friend, will you not call Us by my name?”
“Forgive me,” The man paused for a second, understanding that by being allowed to call The King by His name, the man finally expressed what had been suppressed deep down for a long time.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Omen King, I have spilled oceans of blood with these hands. What say you of my crime of taking the souls of countless men? What say you, that the world in my era was filled with nothing but war, strife, and sorrow? Just how can I know the truth of my actions?” The man’s words were eloquent, even poetic. “I do not know if what I do is good or evil. All I had relied on was my instincts. I just wanted my heart to stop beating too fast.” A change of tune in the man’s eloquence, this time, it was sincere. He was displaying traits of intelligence and possibly a two-faced personality disorder.
The person speaking never opened up like this before, emotions bare and the heart emptied. He thought that keeping his feelings suppressed deep like a chasm in the abyss would make him stronger. Instead, it did the complete opposite.
It made him break.
And, the consequences of such an action changed him forever. The innocence that was devilishly taken from him created the man he is today. Yet, not all was lost. After all, he is the one who has been granted the title of Vicegerent.
Replying to the man’s words, The Omen King displayed a soft smile that no one could see.
“My old friend, know that We have taught you well.”
?
The man did not understand The Omen King’s reply. In fact, his confusion increased even more. He looked at the white hollow ground in front of The Omen King.
“I beg your permission, my King. Grant me the strength to be worthy of this suffering.”
The Omen King’s soft smile increased a little more after the man had said to Him.
“My friend, is that all you wish from Us? Tell Us your will and We shall bless it for you.”
The man still kneeling on one knee replied anxiously, “Forgive me, my King.”
Understanding that the man was too shy to speak of such things in front of Him, the Omen King expressed a subtle chuckle. He is pleased by the Vicegerent’s conviction. In turn, the atmosphere began to dramatically become serious.
“Very well…” Suddenly, the Omen King’s words reverberated like a subtle wave. “By Our right as the Heavenly Omen King, your request shall be granted!” It was a declaration set by the very Heavens. “Vicegerent, my old friend, go to the world. I grow impatient, I wish to have you by my side. Now go! Find the truth of why I created you.”
The Omen King’s declaration shook The Seven Heavens. The dimensions, space, and time, were disrupted and could have easily cracked. Every creation felt fear in their hearts for a millisecond after hearing a strange “shout” from outer space.
