"I've been waiting many hours, by the silent moon, in the wild flowers bloom." Samuel said to himself. Samuel thinks to himself as he repairs countless spirits seamlessly. "I know I said that I would stop thinking of him but, I just can't. How can I live up to what he has done for the Archangels and Empyrean. He didn't do it by himself, I know, however, I still can't get his thought out of me. Or... Are these even my thoughts?"
Samuel lays down by the firelight. He sees above a sky full of stars. A few shooting stars cross from end to end. Can you feel it? This is the end of the world. Samuel falls into a deep sleep.
"Where am I?" Samuel looks around and sees fireflies. Countless fireflies. Too many to count. A crowd of friends run from behind him scaring away the fireflies.
"Hey! Come on!" A girl said to the party.
"It seems like they are having fun." Samuel not startled by the situation hears a voice from inside of his head.
"What? Who's there?" Samuel asked.
"Samuel... It's me." Michael appears behind sitting on a rock surrounded by fireflies. Samuels eyes lit up and starts crying uncontrollably. Michael smiles and walks up to help him up. "Samuel, stand tall, I implore you."
Samuel stands up but tears continue to stream from his eyes. "I remember, I remember destroying you Michael, where have you been? Is this real?"
"Samuel, this is as real as its going to get. You need to listen to me. I overheard you from before. "Mind over matter", those are words I thought I would never hear again. You see, I keep seeing Him in you but, I also see something else in you... Something troubling. Samuel you must listen to me. Control yourself with these powers. Anything can change in such a short amount of time. Just as how I. I, murdered Raguel and Remiel. I, I wasn't myself. My desires got the best of me and yet, I was weak. I wasn't able to stop myself. Can you believe it? Someone as strong as me can't stop something so trivial. Just as a gambler can't stop spinning that wheel."
"You didn't murder them... You said it yourself. It wasn't you." Samuel stops his tears and sits next to Michael once more. "What do you mean by controlling myself? Have these powers ever betrayed you Michael?"
"No, but I know someone who has. I cannot reveal too much and I'm not even here either."
"Wait, what? This isn't real?"
"Yeah, it isn't..." Michael begins to disappear just as he did when Samuel destroyed him.
"Wait, no! Please Michael! I need you. I, How can I make people look at me the same way they looked at you?"
"Samuel I do not need to tell you that. You must show them who you really are. I don't even think we should be having this conversation either. They have been following your every order and steps along the way. Ever since I did the deed. You have been the pillar that has been healing them from what I did. Please would you give them my regards when you return?"
"Yeah... I will..." Samuel waves good-bye to Michael.
Samuel wakes up again but, everything around him is floating. His surroundings have changed, the city, the skylines are gone buildings are in shambles. Creatures of unknown origin are roaming the streets. The sky is dark and the atmosphere is red. This world...
"What happened?!" Samuel asked himself. A creature notices him and screeches at him as it sprints towards him. It goes through him to attack another creature of its kind. It tears it apart limb by limb. Devours its organs and shares it with its pack. Samuel starts sweating profusely. He knows he is still in a dream, he has to be. Samuel walks up to the pack feasting on the dead creature. He reaches out his hand as the pack stops eating. They stare towards his direction. They walk up. They start sniffing the air. The aroma of a God. They communicate with each other and Samuel is standing there waiting to wake up from this fever dream. The pack is dismissed, but one. The creature left behind gets up on its two hind legs and speaks.
"Ugh! AUGH! I... Know... What... You... Are..." The creature spoke as it stumbles its words with food still in his mouth. "A man... No... You... Are... Not... From... Here... Who... Are... You?..."

Samuel stares in disbelief. He stands still in fear. An insurmountable amount of fear. The creature runs off. Samuels head begins to spin. He wakes up. This time he is in his room now. He knows he is still in the dream.
"Damn!" Samuel bangs his desk next to his dresser. "How many dreams or worlds do I need to go through? How is this even possible? Is this a side effect of these powers?" Samuel opens his front door only to see a one way road with no end in sight. No road signs, no cars, and no life whatsoever.
"Is this the end of the world? I thought I already have seen it? Why... Why is this happening to me? What did I do wrong?"
Samuel walks the road. He walks until he can't no more and rests up. And walks again. Rests up. Walks again. Rests up. This cycle repeats ten thousand more times. Samuel aging has ceased and retains his young looks.
"Its been too long since I've seen any type of life. Not even a fly... No flowers or even sunshine. Just firelights and fireflies... Wait... More fireflies?" Samuel realizes now, he looks harder at the formations of the fireflies. He sees that the fireflies have been guiding him. He steers off from the road and continues off-road. The fireflies lead him from firelight to firelight. He arrives to a firelight of just a handful of fireflies now. But, the fireflies have stopped moving.
"What is it?" Samuel tries talking to an insect. "What am I doing?"
He walks off but can barely see anymore fireflies. He now only has one left with him to guide him.
"Guess its just me and you then huh?" The firefly stops and turns towards him and lands on his big nose. It bites him and flies off.
"Great, now I'm by myself. Back from where we started." Samuel looks down and starts sulking. He looks up again to see door and next to it a firefly. He grins and runs toward it. He arrives and catches his breath. He grabs the door handle but before he opens it. He thanks the firefly and the fireflies that have been guiding him here.
"Thanks, it means a lot. I don't know if you can hear me because you're an insect and all but, can you give my thanks to the rest of the flies too? They were a big help. Thanks, again." Samuel opens up the door and walks in. Samuel wakes up in a sweat. He touches himself on his elbow and pinches himself.
"I'm here." Samuel pants in happiness. "I'm here! I'm back!"
Uriel overhears him and rolls her eyes. Samuel senses something and turns towards the direction. Ready to fight he sees through the woods and finds someone.
"Who are you!? Reveal yourself." Samuel shouted. Uriel scoffs and throws a sound from across the woods. Samuel chases off the sound.
"Hmph, what a dunce. What was he talking about? "I'm back" Where did he go? I've been watching him in his sleep this entire time."
"You've been what?!" Samuel yelled. Uriel turns around suddenly. "You were watching me sleep? Did I hear that right? That's a bit weird is it not?"
Uriel sighs, "I'm sorry, I just couldn't help myself, today was my turn to follow you." Uriel confessed. "Anyways, what did you mean "I'm back" when you were asleep?"
"Oh, you heard that? Um, yeah I was lost in my dreams."
"What did you see?"
"I saw him... Michael was there."
"Really?"
"Yeah, he told me not to lose myself, even though I continued to be lost in my dreams. Has this ever happened to you?"
"No. I don't really have dreams too much. I just sleep through the night until dawn."
"Wow, that's kinda boring if I'm being honest."
"What do you know about being boring? Every Archangel during these past few days have been losing sleep cause of the stuff you do."
"What? No true, you just don't understand why I do the things I do. In other words, You cannot comprehend what it is to be me..."
"Yeah... Continuing on I think being lost in your dreams has happened to Raphael before. Maybe you should ask him about this if you ever catch him watching you tomorrow."
"Its his turn tomorrow?"
"Yes."
"Ok, thanks for letting me know."
"Don't mention it, I'm heading home now."
"Alright, good night! Don't get lost in your dreams!"
"I should be saying that to you, idiot..." Uriel uttered as Samuel waves her off in the distance.
"Now then, its still nighttime, time for more sleep."
"Uriel, how was Samuel today?" Raphael asked.
"He was interesting, he got lost in his dreams today." Uriel told him.
"Ah yes, good, that means his powers are starting to come into fruition."
"Really? Like, he'll have the same amount of powers as Michael before he fell?"
"Yes but, even more so. Samuel is someone rare. He is special. Michael told me this a night before he fell, Samuel will be the next Archangel. When we started to first watch him all those days ago, we couldn't help but laugh at the thought of being human. The average life of the human being is uneventful. Suffering, as some would say. Samuels' will to continue to live was us. His faith in humanity was more than any of us could have imagined. That's what makes him special Uriel. I'm sure you have noticed this haven't you?" Raphael asks.
"Yeah, he's definitely someone special. He clings to his human self too much and needs to learn what it means to be an ethereal being."
"No, I don't think he needs to learn that. He's fine as that. In fact, I think that's what makes him special. His connection to humankind is what inspires him and me to continue being an Archangel. Sariel, Gabriel, and even you, I'm sure you all feel the same way. Perhaps some more so."
"Yeah, more so..."
"Ok, that's enough from me. I should get some sleep now. I have to follow him first thing in the morning."
"Good luck with that." Uriel walks off to her room, Raphael too.
Samuel is laid to rest. He has reached the end of the road. The camera has stopped rolling. It broke. Broken...
"Break..." Samuel wakes up due to a loud whisper from someone. He looks around and doesn't notice anything. He gets up and starts his day like any other.
