"Mind over matter, Samuel, mind over matter." Samuel speaks to himself in the cold dark room he guards and awaits the return for Michael. While meditating he levitates midair, as his powers surge through his body. Ever since Michael left the responsibilities that was left to him have made him stronger and more conservative of his spirit energy with his efficiency now Samuel can rival even Raphael in energy. In the distance, a boom was heard and the city shakes. Samuel cuts off his meditation and signals the Archangels.
"What's happening out there? Talk to me." Samuel demands as he makes his way around the grand spirit to sense if anyone is near.
"No one out here boss, I think that boom was in Uriels' area. Uriel? You there?"
"I'm here and uh I'm also with Raphael, but some of the backup generators for the city have been destroyed."
"Who could've done this? And why?" Raphael added.
"Damn, he might already be here. Raguel? Remiel? Are you there? Talk to me."
No response. Samuels' eyes widen and then go sharp.
"Raguel! Remiel! Speak to me! now!" Samuel shouted.
No response. Until, Remiel coughs up blood and can be heard by the Archangel.
"Ugh, Samuel? Where? Where are you?" Remiel spoke in a weak manner.
"Remiel? Is that you? What's been happening out there? How come we didn't know we lost contact with you guys?"
"I-I don't know but, Samuel, this wasn't who you think it was. Please whatever you do."
Samuel hears footsteps walk from behind him. He turns quickly.
"Don't listen to whatever he says! Whatever he says or promises. Do not comply!" Remiel gave out to his injuries.
"Samuel, my trusted companion, I have arrived." Michael returned from his trip to elsewhere.
"Michael? Wha-What happened to you? You look like shit."
"Heh, you should see the other guy anyways, where is everybody? Did they go out too?"
"No actually, they're out looking for you. Do you know what happened to Remiel and Raguel?"
"Who? Oh yes, Raguel and Remiel, I ran into them as I was returning from my trip. They asked me questions and it felt like I was being interrogated and then I asked them what has been happening, and they said that they have been anticipating my return."
"Is that it?"
"Yes."
"How did you not get spotted by the rest of the Archangels? They should've at the very least sensed you."
"What's with the questions? Hmm? I am starting to grow tired of being interrogated."
"I'm sorry but I'm just trying to get to the bottom of this. Remiel sounded hurt and you were the only one who he talked to before he was hurt. What happened?"
The two stare at each other for some time until Michael asks him about the Grand Spirit.
"It's completed isn't it? Wonderful. Then I guess I should ask you the same thing I asked Raguel and Remiel. Samuel, will you help contain the Grand Spirit inside myself? Just for me to keep?" Michael pleaded.
Samuel squints his eyes in concern. Everything that he has built for the people of Astrea to use to rid their spirits of the nightmarish events that have happened in their lives, all going into the man who he looks up to.
"What? Why would you want to do that?"
"Oh bother, Samuel, I must need an answer from you. This is urgent. I must know, will you help me?" Michael pleads once more. As he asks Samuel, the Archangels have finally noticed that Samuel has been occupied for some time.
"Samuel? Are you there? Samuel?" Uriel calls out.
"Where has he gone?" Raphael asks as he looks toward the main building.
"I sense some crazy things from over there, hehe, let's go check it out." Sariel eager to know what's happening back at the Capitol.
"Calm down Sariel contain your temper, Gabriel? You think Michael is back?"
"Yeah, but, this energy feels different."
"How so?"
"It's, it's, much darker and sinister than what he usually is. I know this isn't Samuel cause I can feel his spirit from here, he, he's pretty confident right now. We have to go there right now."
"Wait you don't think he is going to-?" Uriel gets interrupted.
"Oh I do think he will." Sariel giggles.
"Michael? What happened to you out there? You're not acting normal."
"I need an answer now! Please Samuel! Will you help me or not?!"
Samuels' heart rate is at an all-time high the intimidation that Michael used to give off isn't there anymore and yet I feel something is lurking inside of him. Clinging to his very spirit making him do and say these things.
"No. I'm sorry but the answer is no." Samuel said in a low tone.
Michael now realizes that he has always been on his own. "Ever since He left, I've always been on my own. Every Archangel that I know and recruited, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, and even you too Sariel. All of them, I'm sorry..."
"Whatever you're going to do Michael, please, I don't want to do it."

"Do what? Will you stand in my way just as how Raguel and Remiel have? Did you see what happened to them?"
"So, it was you then." Samuel cries out and anger starts rushing in his mind, completely taking over the matter of things.
As the other Archangels arrive to the Grand Soul, Samuel rushes towards Michael with a fist whilst hovering in the air, as Michael makes his way towards the Grand Spirit he senses Samuels anger.
"Michael! Watch out!" Uriel shouts at him. Michael immediately looks towards Uriel instinctively. The punch delivered from Samuel launches Michael in the skies. The Archangels are left in awe.
"Whoa!" Sariel says out loud.
Raphael scans his surroundings and the energy from both Samuel and Michael, as he does Gabriel, a sworn Archangel for Michael, makes his way to the two. "Wait you fool!" Raphael exclaims.
"What? Why are you grabbing me? Look! He needs our help right now!"
"You don't want to be apart of this, look at the two of them and you'll see!" Raphael yelled.
Gabriel turns towards Samuel and Michael and sees two spirits radiating off of each other. One of pure strength and determination and the other, fear and trepidation. Gabriel gasps and retreats to Raphael and the rest of the Archangels.
"Sariel, Uriel, can you guys, and Gabriel, evacuate the people in the city to the outskirts or to at least somewhere safe. I can't tell what may happen in this fight but, I need to be safe and calm about this. Please do this for me will you?" Raphael begged of them.
"Raphael." Uriel sympathized. "Very well, c'mon Sariel, let's go."
"Be careful Raphael, I don't want to leave you here alone but, I want the poeple to be safe. Please don't get hurt."
The Archangels leave as Samuel and Michaels' situation escalates. The two stare at each other at opposites ends of a spectrum.
"Oh Samuel, there is still much you don't know about this world and it's inhabitants. And yet, here you are, standing in my way, standing in the way of the person who has brought you up from what you were. A mere human. Living out a meaningless life full of mystery and naivety. When I was young, do you want to know what I was doing? I was born into a family of low regard, much like yours, and then He came to me. I prayed for something new in my life to occur and it came but, at what cost? My life was turned on its side as my mind started to determine what was right or wrong, and all throughout this endeavor He was there to guide me. And now He's gone. You, Samuel, look just like Him but, you were also the closest thing I ever had to a son, and that's why this hurts. I'm sorry." Michael rushes towards the Grand Spirit and absorbs it like it's just another spirit.
"What?!" Samuel yelled out.
Michael retreats with the Spirit and makes his way to major cities to stall Samuel for the transfusion to be complete. As he flies, Samuel isn't too far off. They clash in the air with a plethora of attacks. Beams of light appear in the skies of Astrea. Frost, fire, lightning, and even water, all of the elements you can think of are turned offensive to subdue the other. They fly to New York, Athos, as the skies cry in fear of the world breaking. Barrages of magic surge through the currents of the air, air is now hitting Samuel with all of its might. Samuel is pushed back all the way to New Angeles, Athos completely losing sight of Michael. Samuel has no clue where he could've gone but, he has a hunch. When he descended from Empyrean the first time he was in a place called Avalon.
"I just need to make my way back to that place but where is it?"
Samuel runs through his memories inside of his brain but, to no avail. An airplane sweeps from below, Samuel gains an idea he turns towards the airplane and infiltrates it.
"We are now entering jet lag in Southern Oskya, please remain in your seats until the lagging is over." The pilot said to the passengers.
"Excuse me? Do you know where this plane is going?" Samuel asked an old lady.
"Why yes I do, we are heading towards the capitol city of Avalon in, Avalon City. The birthplace of this generations technology we have today."
"So, we are going in the direction of that city I take it?"
"Yes we are young man."
"Good, thank you so much." Samuel leaves in a hurry back outside the plane midflight. He heads towards the direction of the plane in the speed tenfold. He arrives to the city however, doesn't know where Michael can be. He scans his surroundings and senses Raphael.
"Samuel!" Raphael shouted.
"Raphael! Where is Michael?!"
"Samuel you need to tell me what is going here or else-" Raphael is interrupted by huge force of energy at the top of the high rise east of the two.
"That's where you are. I'm sorry Raphael but you need to go back to Empyrean, Michael, Michael has betrayed us, he is the one that destroyed both Remiel and Raguel. Please, I don't want anyone else to get hurt." Samuel cries in front of Raphael as tears stream from his eyes, he forcibly sends Raphael back to his home realm.
"Wait! No! Samuel!"
Samuel makes his way towards the stream of energy pouring from the high-rise. He thinks of plenty of situations and outcomes from the event regardless, he can't think of an outcome where both he and Michael can come out alive. He thinks back to what Michael said to him the first time they met. "A twelve, snake eyes, thank God I have found you." He reaches the top and disturbs Michael from completing the transfusion of the Grand Spirit on himself.
"So, you've made it huh Samuel?" Michael said as light swells inside of his body.
"Michael, please stop this, just tell me what happened to you! Please! If you tell me, I, I won't do what I'm about to do, so, please! Tell me!" Samuel cried out.
Michael looks upon Samuel for one last time.
"Samuel... I, I can't. You must..." Michael mumbles.
"What? What did you say?!"
Michael dashes to Samuel to deliver a finishing blow to subdue him. Samuel dodges swiftly and grabs Michael by the scruff of the neck and punches his abdomen so hard that Michaels body fails for a few seconds and comes back. Michael now weakened by the blow slowly drifts away back to the rift of energy.
"Mind over matter." Samuel says. "Mind over matter..." Michael looks at Samuel in despair.
Samuel readies his fingers for a snap. "You know you're on my mind!" Samuel screams as the light flickers in his fingers at a rate that is incomprehensible to even Michael. He snaps in the direction of Michael and in an instant Michael beings to deteriorate into light. His legs first, then his left arm, as the right arm goes too, "Samuel! Please forgive. I never wanted any of this to happen. I-I'm sorry!" Michael fades from existence as the Grand Spirit completes the transfusion at the very last minute. With no vessel for the Spirit, it then chooses the closest worthy person. Samuel sees as the Spirit bolts towards him. He endures for some time until the Spirit completely settles in with his spirit too. Just like how he first gained his powers, he endured but this time, the difference was exponential. The dice he rolled back from his inception are now playing a part in his new life. The two twelve snake eyes he rolled out back then were the number of Grand Spirits "He" obtained. This knowledge is shown to Samuel through his eyes as he combines himself with the Spirit however he can never understand the importance of it or at least not now. What he can understand is, how to use it. Samuel with his new powers accomplishes what Michael wanted to do since the beginning, Samuel made his way back to Empyrean and returned their fragmented spirits from there. Samuel readied his arms and began the separation of the spirits he and the rest of the Archangel obtained. A river of tons of different colors are seen in the Empyrean sky and later make their way to Astrea. The people of Astrea, again, are in wonder. The people with the fragmented spirits are now full and complete. They return to their normal state and go on with their lives, now with full motivation and without the nightmarish reality of what is really hiding behind this realm.
"Samuel!" Uriel called out to him.
Samuel slowly turned towards Uriel only to realize the rest of the Archangels are there too. The Archangels are amazed at the sight of Samuel now, he looks different now. His hair grew out of proportion and is now twice as long as before. The color remained the same as with his clothing. He looks at the Archangels with respect and starts to cry another time. Samuel drops to his knees in sorrow as the rest of the Archangels head to comfort him. In a room empty now, ridded of all spirits that once were trapped seeming to be trapped there for the rest of time unless they met Samuel, the Archangels couldn't do anything but sympathize with Samuel who was dealt with a heavy fate of dying and being reborn again only to destroy the man who revived him. All while losing the memories of his past life and the people in his past life losing him and the memories they had of him too.
"Samuel... It's going to be okay. You're safe now." Raphael declared.
"Thanks, Raphael, Gabriel, Uriel, Sariel, I'm sorry..." Samuel cries out as the Archangels continue to comfort him.
