Vikram woke up from his bed with the pain of getting his head crushed by the demon hound still very vivid in his mind. After taking a few breaths to calm himself down he lifted himself up and sat on his bed with a very gleeful smile on his face. He killed a LVL 5 Demonic hound at LVL 2. This was something he had only heard of being accomplished by professional players and he was clearly not one.
Seeing this Vikram was smart enough to understand that he must now prioritize improving his sword skills. Since he was betting his life on this game, he wanted to do his best and for that to happen, he needed to become one of the strongest if not the strongest in Odyssey.
After contemplating for a while on the bed Vikram checked the time. It had been around 40 minutes since he entered the game and now that he was dead it meant he cannot log in for another six hours. It was still morning and dying so quickly was not something he had planned.
Taking a helpless sigh Vikram moved to his computer table and turned on his computer as he browsed through the forum of Odyssey. There were plenty of things that were going on to keep a person entertained but Vikram just couldn't help but feel like he was wasting his time.
The constant guilt was making it difficult for him to sit back on the chair and relax. As a result of this, he soon got up from his chair wanting to freshen his mood by going out. Just as he turned towards the wardrobe to change his clothes, he saw an old wooden pole resting at the top of the wardrobe.
It had been there for a while with no clear use. Vikram had kept it handy just for self-protection reasons. Out of curiosity he held out his hand and grabbed the pole. Holding the wooden pole in his hand he couldn't help but swing it from place to place like any bored person would do.
He suddenly thought of swinging down the pole mimicking the same movements he did while he was in the world of Odyssey. Positioning himself properly and getting in his stance. Raising the pole high up in the sky Vikram slashed it vertically downwards in the same manner as he did with his sword inside the game.
*SWOOOSH*
Due to the much larger surface area compared to that of the sharp edge of a sword the pole made a large sound while going down but that didn't stop Vikram from experiencing the exact same feeling that he felt in-game.

'Do the skills I learn inside the game stay with me in the real world as well?' He thought to himself. Vikram had heard nothing of this sort in the news and even after searching the forums a few times he couldn't find anything related to this.
'Maybe I'm just overthinking too much. It's just a downward swing, maybe I was already very good at it.' Vikram thought to himself as he forgot about this thought.
Having nothing much to do now Vikram walked out of his house after changing his clothes in order to relax his mind.
Vikram was currently sitting at a public park as he admired the nature around him. Compared to his polluted neighbourhood this place was heaven-like to him. He saw the people that were passing by outside the park walking or in their cars. He couldn't help but think of a time when he too would be able to afford a car.
Vikram chuckled at his foolish dreams before realizing that they were not so foolish anymore. He did in fact now have the chance and ability to make it big and enjoy his life. The fact that he was currently unemployed might makes things difficult for him for a while but after he starts making money from the game, he would be swimming in cash. Thinking in that direction made a grin appear on Vikram's face.
"Seeing a poor man like you grinning makes me feel nauseous." A voice came from beside Vikram, turning his head to the side he saw a man in a white suit looking down at him with an annoyed expression.
"Sorry? Are you talking to me?" Vikram asked to make sure whether he had heard something wrong because he clearly hadn't done anything to offend this gentleman.
"I fucking am talking to you, you dumbass." The man said and without any warning punched Vikram right in his face making Vikram teared up and before he could recover himself Vikram felt a kick aimed right at his abdomen making him slide down the seat as he grabbed his stomach in pain and vomited out his saliva on the ground.
"Bunch of rascals." The man said as he removed the cigarette from his mouth and exhaled the smoke. The man was about to kick Vikram on his head before he was stopped by another person who came from behind and said, "Young master, I believe sir has told you to not cause any problem."
"Tch, I was just showing this person his place since he dared to think that he could talk back to me." The man said as he turned around and went towards a black sedan that had been waiting for him.
The person who stopped the man slowly walked towards Vikram and said "I'm sorry about this, young master is just too annoyed and ended up letting it out on him. I'm sure that a sorry won't suffice so here's some cash for the treatment as well as for the mental and emotional damage it had caused you." The person said as he threw a bundle of notes in front of Vikram who was still on the ground
Vikram was too busy breathing heavily to numb the pain from the kick and didn't notice the other person. Only when he heard the sound of the car engine starting which was followed by the sounds of tires skidding on the road did he realize that the ones responsible for his current state had long gone.
