Woods sighed as he leaned forward. "I don't know, kid. It was just chaos at that ceremony."

He paused, his jaw tightening as he recalled the scene. "But it didn't add up, Cole. The Enforcers' defenses were broken like they were nothing. Councilors almost died that day and an innocent life lost. And whoever was behind it? They had serious firepower."

Woods paused, a hint of bitterness in his tone. "The fallout from that? Losing her father? Caitlyn Kiramman—she lost it. Took matters into her own hands, persuaded Mason and myself to join her strike team. She wasn't about to let it happen again."
Lawson raised an eyebrow. "And you agreed? Just like that?"
Woods gave a grim smile. "We were up for it. Caitlyn's a good person; she actually cares about the people around her. But make no mistake—when she's wearing that Enforcer badge, she gets shit done. Caitlyn's got a heart, sure, but she's dead serious when it comes to doing her job."
Lawson nodded slowly. "Sounds like someone worth following."
Woods nodded in agreement. "Exactly. That's why Mason and I were in."
