Hello Everyone!

First of all, let me just say that it is nearly overwhelming to me that I have now surpassed over one hundred followers on my silly little fanfiction.

When I first started this journey all I wanted to do was write something that I personally wanted to read. I had asked around and no one could point me in the direction of a good Professor Oak fiction. To say that I was disappointed is an understatement. So I took it upon myself to fill that void.

Little did I know how much time and effort needed to go into this. Despite official lore being rather sparse and the Pokemon Company making some rather odd decisions, there is still quite a bit. I have tried to do my research and pull in as much as I could when planning out this series, but I am certain that occasionally I will miss something or will choose to ignore some detail that is relatively inconsequential in the grand scope of Sammy's story.

Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.

But I digress... what I'm here to say is: I'm still alive and I'm still writing.

Essentially what happened is that I had to put everything on hold for a bit as I powered through the last of my Master's program. Couple that with the holiday season, and as you can see time got away from me. The good news is that I finished all of my coursework and have more or less graduated!

The better news is that I am now refocusing on Oak: Origins. I have more or less outlined the remainder of Book 1 and will be pumping out the chapters as quick as I can for the remainder of 2023. The goal is to get a minimum of 6 chapters posted for you all.

The not quite as good, but still not exactly bad news is that after completing my outline I realized that I vastly underestimated how much I still had to tell of Sammy's childhood. We're still sitting around halfway.

So! Here's the plan!

Once I have enough chapters ready to keep you all entertained for a while, I will get them all scheduled for automatic release and then take the rest of the year "off".

Thank you so much for your continued support!
