Hi Everyone,

For those unaware, I live with Adult Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder (ADHD), which makes doing anything that requires mental focus difficult. I got assessed and diagnosed last year and started taking prescription extended release Adderall which has been absolutely life-changing.

However, I recently refilled my prescription and discovered that for some reason all of my symptoms were not improved even after taking my dose. At first I thought, "Man I sure built up a tolerance quick", but after doing a little research I discovered that this might not actually be the case. Thankfully I had a few tablets left over of the short acting version so I could test this theory. My symptoms subsided and I actually had the best day in weeks.

I don't know if anyone else has experienced this, but further digging revealed that my exact scenario has been reported across the USA. One day the meds are working great, then after a refill suddenly they aren't doing anything. I do not have enough information to resolutely state what could possibly be going on, but of course I have my theories.

In the meantime I have reached out to my doctor and asked to switch back to the short acting as I don't really want to be taking a medication that simply does not work for me. Trying to sit down and write is not really something that I can handle right now. Being a bit of a stickler for "getting the details right", this is only compounded by writing about subject material that I have no practical experience with (ships and sailing). I've done a ton of research, but trying to get the words out on paper in a way that isn't stilted or forced is extra difficult since it takes more thought and effort to do it right.

So... I am making the hard call to go on a short hiatus until I can get the whole medication thing figured out. At this point I think I owe you all like 8 chapters, but my brain just won't cooperate. I suspect that I'll be gone about a month-ish, but hopefully when I get back I'll be able to crank out the chapters and get me back on "schedule".

I'm sorry that the last few months have been a content drought... I promise I'll do what I can to make it up to you all.
