Suddenly, without warning, two massive bolts of lightning, one crimson red while the other was an otherworldly, light blue, fell from the sky and slammed into Nyx's body with a bone-shattering explosion.
The impact was so violent that a wave of hot air and blinding debris flew outwards in a circle causing everyone to shield their eyes. The weaker knights, those not yet at the Gem rank, staggered backwards more than a dozen steps while vomiting blood into their helmets while the others, including Granny, managed to retreat with some grace.
However, no matter who they were, their minds were shocked and slightly terrified of the horrendous energy resonating from the impact site. It was so tyrannical that their skin crawled even though they had retreated a significant distance away.
"Double Tribulations? Wait, why isn't the cultivation tribulation activating as well?" growled the knight that had given Harold his short sword. While he seemed to have been unaffected, merely retreating with light steps, the incredible energy wave released from the lightning strike had caused his blood to boil as his internal energy ran rampant, suffering some light internal injuries as a result.
"That's not a cultivation tribulation," mumbled Granny as she stared at the dark, swirling vortex above. "It's the creation of a sigil."
Though her words were quiet, and the surroundings were in chaos, every knight present were expert cultivators, at least in the Welshmar Republic, and was able to hear her.
"Elemental Royalty?" spat the other knight that had appeared alongside Granny earlier. While his injuries were no better than his companion, his willpower was much stronger, and so he was able to suppress his injuries as he took a step forward. "We must kill it before the situation deteriorates."
"Wait," shouted Granny, currently pushing her energy into the pale, almost unconscious Harold she was holding up with a single hand.
"You hold no jurisdiction here, Sect Elder," responded the knight, not even bothering to turn his head to look at the old woman. A complete contradiction to how he had treated her before.
The knight knew that a newborn primordial beast, let alone one which was an elemental royalty, would be almost impossible to resist for a cultivator or sect and could easily bring disaster upon his nation. However, even he was tempted to quickly get a collar of enslavement and try his luck, earning great merits for the country, but the fact that the body was the former princes meant that this, even though it already was a daydream, was an impossibility.
There was already the pending scandal that her body had been taken over by an evil entity, one that would bring great shame upon the Welshmar Republic. If the princess's body was enslaved as well, paraded around neighbouring countries and treated as nothing more than a beast, wouldn't the Republic become a laughing stock.

"Stand back and do nothing. You don't want to break the pact do you?" snarled the knight, his tone indicating that this wasn't just a threat, but a vow that he would issue the order to attack if Granny didn't comply.
Granny snorted as she glared at the knight, her left eye slightly twitching.
She already knew she wouldn't be able to do anything inside the city. She just didn't have the guts to break the pact between other sects and this continent's nations, even for something as miraculous and unheard of as a dual guardian primordial beast with the mark of elemental royalty.
However, judging by the clouds above, as well as the rumbling thunder and white lightning that was almost upon them, she knew that the beast might have a chance to escape the city. As such, she had already alerted her sect with the transmission talisman to encircle the city and capture the beast if it managed to escape.
The moment the crimson lightning had appeared, in Granny's eyes, Nyx had already lost the title of human. In fact, even before that, when she discovered that the princess had been killed and her body inhabited by a summon, an entity which most believed to be an evil spirit from another dimension, Nyx had become no more than an animal or tool in Granny's mind.
However, that didn't mean that Nyx was worthless. With each new shocking revelation, Nyx's worth had skyrocketed, and the old woman started plotting on how she would be able to secure such a heaven-defying familiar for her sect.
Primordial beasts grew at an astonishing rate, much faster than cultivators, and so it wouldn't only benefit their sect in the immediate future, but could be passed to their parental clans in the higher continents as it grew, securing fame and prestige, as well as a lot of benefits, for its owners.
The knight's mind matched Granny's in this matter, yet he also knew that even if they ignored the criticism of others, the continents other countries and sects would never let them keep it. As such, even if he were to get punished, he was resolved to kill Nyx and maintain as much of his countries face as possible.
Signalling to the other knights, who had the same idea and were moving into attack positions and surrounding Nyx, to wait, the knight charged forward with a loud roar, his sword drawn out to his side.
"Fool," sniggered Granny as she pulled Harold back even further. While the tribulations were the perfect time to attack a beast or cultivator, especially a primordial one that had endless growth opportunities, it was well known that their parents or sects would always viciously protect them so many wouldn't dare.
However, it was apparent in the current situation that Nyx had no parents or guardians, at least those that would protect her, which had caused the knight to instantly dismiss the risk and take the seemingly once in a lifetime opportunity.
Granny's smile was one of schadenfreude, knowing that the Knight, whether due to shock or being unable to adapt his mindset to the knowledge shattering events that had just occurred, had not paid attention to one crucial fact.
Bluey-white lightening that rippled in the sky above, without the sound of thunder, was a sign that the continent's guardians were here. It was also obvious that they had stopped chasing the mysterious man, something they would only do if something much more important had occurred.
While the guardians would not interfere with a normal cultivator or beast, even during its tribulations, unless they had outgrown the continent's limits and needed to be removed, there was an exception.
And that was when one of their own was undergoing a tribulation. Something that Granny, though she didn't know how it was possible, suspected was happening right before her.
