----------------------------------------

In the beginning there was only the endless gray fog of The Void and unpredictable, unstable, and often paradoxical energy of Chaos. For eons only The Void and Chaos existed but at one point the energy of Chaos, for the briefest of moments, became ordered and an immense pulse of energy spread out through The Void and something amazing happened. Two entities, mirror images of each other, popped into existence. These two entities would later become the goddesses of light and darkness.

Millennia past before the next monumental event occurred. For a second time Chaos became ordered and for the second time an immense pulse of energy spread out through the endless fog of The Void and again this pulse of energy birthed entities, this time five of them. These entities would later become the gods and goddesses of the element Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Lightning.

Many more millennia past before the seven entities gain a consciousness and developed their own personality. The first to do so were the entities of light and darkness. The first thing these two entities did was give themselves a name. The entity of light decide to call itself Draz while the entity of darkness decided to call itself Arouz. The two entities, Draz and Arouz, soon discovered each other and immediately felt a deep connection between the two of them and they soon became inseparable. This lead rise to the celestial law that there can be no light that does not cast a shadow of darkness and no darkness that can't cast a shadow of light. This would lead to the cycle of day and night, the cycle of reincarnation, and the celestial law that states all things must be balanced.

A few millennia after the awakening of Draz and Arouz came the awakening of the other five entities. Like with Draz and Arouz the first thing these entities did was give themselves a name. The entity of air chose the name Chesa, the entity of earth chose Aleat, the entity of fire chose Araphic, the entity of water chose Freck, and the entity of lightning chose Chyr. Shortly after their awakening the five entities discovered each other but, unlike Draz and Arouz who found balance, they started fighting each other for the title of the strongest. They fought for decades, then centuries, and finally for several millennia without a victor. Each one of them found that, while they could over power one of their rivals, they were also over powered by one of their other rivals and evenly matched with the other two. No matter how hard they fought this never changed yet they kept on fighting since that was all they knew how to do.

Eventually Draz and Arouz came across the other five entities and were very displeased by what they saw. When the five fighting entities saw Draz and Arouz they immediately tried to fight them but were immediately defeated by the two entities that had many millennia of experience with their element and knew how to use them together. Draz and Arouz used their celestial law of balance to suppress the other five and give them order. The two entities of light and darkness ordered the entities of earth, air, fire, water, and lighting into a circle based on who could suppress who and who could be suppressed by who. They were arranged in the order of fire, air, earth, lightning, water, and back to fire. Light and darkness stood above the rest as the balance keepers. Peace reigned for a while as each of the entities started to study their element.

Eventually all seven entities obtained complete understanding of their element and even discovered advanced forms of their element. At some point Chesa, the entity of air, suggested that they combine their elements to see what would happen so they did and it turned into a complete mess that almost returned them to Chaos but in that mess was a small bit of something...new. Something that had never existed before and couldn't be created by Chaos. All seven of them sensed this and tried again. And again. And again. They repeated their experiment over and over for countless millennia before, suddenly, they created what they were after. They had created the first plane of existence, what would come to be called the Martial plane. When the seven entities saw what they had created they became excited and immediately descended to explore their creation. What they found could only be described with one word.

Chaos.

They were extremely distraught at the sight of their creation looking like it was going to tear itself apart. The seven entities pooled their power and, with the unstoppable power of the Celestial Law of Balance, brought order to their chaotic creation. This process took tens of millennia because they had to put everything in its proper place. When they were done they looked around and felt pleased with themselves but they also felt like something was missing. It took them a while to figure out what that feeling was. The feeling was that of emptiness. All seven of them set about thinking of ways to fill the world they had created and it was Draz who came up with the first idea. She told everyone to take out a small bit of the elemental essence, into which she imbued her power of life. Thus the first elementals were created. They released their elementals and watched in horror as the world they had created was slowly being destroyed by their creations as each elemental tried to expand the area of their element. The seven worked quickly and used all of the knowledge they had gained when making the first plane to make seven others, each comprised of only one element. They banished the elementals to their appropriate plane and set about fixing the world. When they were done they started thinking of things to fill the world with. It was Draz again who came up with an idea. This time she suggested that they make one being that had an association with all elements but didn't contain the essence of any of them. For centuries they discussed and argued about what the being before finally coming to an agreement. They combined a small bit of their power together and imbuing it with life. This being became the first dragons.

They watched as their creation spread throughout the world they had created. They watched as the dragons built themselves a society and started learning about the world they inhabited. They watched as the dragons found the power of the elements and learned how to harness them becoming the first mages. They watched as the dragons discovered traces of the seven’s existences and started to worship them, calling them by two new names.

Gods and Goddess.

The seven gods and goddess watched over and cared for the dragons but they never felt like the dragons were their creation and it left them longing to have a race that they themselves had created. The other six gods and goddess beseeched Draz to allow to each have their own race. Draz, who also wanted her own, readily agreed. The first one to make a race was the goddess of air Chesa. Chesa envisioned her race and Draz gave that vision life, giving birth to the Fae or Fairies as they would be called by the other races. They watched the fairies but soon noticed a problem. The Fairies could live for a few thousand years and the seven agreed that this was much too long but they couldn’t shorten their life span with remaking the race so they decided to leave them be. Next to create a race was Arouz, the goddess of darkness. Like with Chesa, Arouz envisioned her race and Draz gave her vison life. As soon as the race was created there was a problem.

Because of the Celestial Law of Light and Darkness it seemed like two races appeared. One, the Drow, was a race that thrived in the darkness and the other, the Elves, was a race that thrived in the light. This lead to several decades of arguing before it was agreed upon that they were just two variant of the same race. The second problem was that this race still lived too long, between 700 and 1000 years. Like with the Fairies they couldn’t change it so they left the Elves alone. Next up was Aleat, The god of earth. The process was repeated and the race of the Dwarves was created. The dwarves still lived too long for the god’s liking, around 400-500 years, but they couldn’t change it so they again moved on. After Aleat was Chyr, the god of lightning, who created the race of the Halflings. The Halflings lived for around 150 years. While 150 years was better they still felt like it was too long but let the Halflings be and moved on.

The next one to create a race was Freck, the goddess of water. She created the mer-people, a race that live exclusively in water and could live for around 100 year. While it was closer they still felt like it was a little too long. Araphic was second to last and he created the race of the Orcs. The Orcs live for around 80 years which felt just right to the gods so when Draz created her race that was the life span she used. Draz created the race of the Humans and, as with the Orcs, they would live for around 80 years.

The gods stepped back and watched as their creation spread across the world they had created and engaged with the other races. Unfortunately and upheaval would soon come and throw this world into chaos.
