Long ago there was a man who couldn't do a single thing well, no matter what he tried. He would try and fail over and over and over and still not give up. While nothing good could be said about his skill in any of the thing he tried people couldn't say anything bad about the man himself because of his determination and drive to find the one thing he was good at. After years and years the man finally came to term with his inability to do anything. He had tried hundreds, if not thousands, of thing but he was only mediocre at best in any one thing. As the man thought about what he should do with his life from that point on an idea hit him. If he couldn't skilled in any one thing why not become average in many things? The man worked hard for many years before his effort finally bore fruit. The man was middle-aged now but he had accomplished his goal, he had an average level of skill in dozens, if not hundreds, of skill. While the level of skill he possessed was nothing special, the large number of skills he could use at even an average level of impressive. The man was content for several years but in the back of his mind he still had the wish to become better. The man eventually set out on a journey to better his skills further. He wasn't conceited enough to believe that he could master any of the skills he possessed but he was determined to become at least moderately skilled in at least one skill before he died. The man travels all over the continent practicing his skills. Decades passed and the man was nearing death but he didn't give up. During one leg of his journey around the continent the man disappeared. Some say that he was killed by bandits, others say he got lost, and others that his age caught up with while traveling but one of the most curious rumors say that he discovered a secret related to skills that could wreak havoc if people found out about it. While it's unknown where he was headed to, it’s agreed upon that the most likely place was the then dwarven capitol, Dur Tharum.
Ren closed the book 'Master of None'. The book was a collection of stories that cautioned the reader about trying to do too much. The book was names after the last story in the book about a man who journeyed to become skilled in many skills but ultimately died not fulfilling his wish. Or at least that's what most people would think. Ren found it weird that the author mentioned the city Dur Tharum if the tale was meant to caution people against fallowing what the man did. Ren knew he could be over thinking it but it piqued his interest.
Ren lay back against the and thought about what he wanted to do. He still had a few days until classes started so right now he had nothing but time. Ren though about it for a few minutes and decided he was going to pick a skill or two to train.

Looking at his skills Ren immediately threw away the notion of training his saint skill right now as they would draw to much attention. It took Ren a couple minutes to narrow down his choices but he finally got down to three. [Sage Eye], [Meditation], and [Fall Damage Reduction] were the ones he wanted to focus on right now. To train, Ren decided he would use [Sage Eye] and examine everything he saw until his mana ran out, than he would use [Meditation] to speed up the mana regen. Finally for [Fall Damage Reduction] Ren would just have to fall a lot from a height he would take damage from. Ren walked around his room examining objects. None of them were special in any way, shape, or form but they still experience. Ren found out that you get the most experience from examining something new and that once you examine something with the skill the information would stay when you looked at it without the skill. Ren could only examine 20 objects with [Sage Eye] before he ran out of mana. Nine objects in [Sage Eye] leveled up and was now beginner level 2.
When his mana was used up Ren sat down and started to meditate. Normally it would take Ren over 16 minutes to fill up his mana from zero but this time it took him a little under 15 minutes. While it's not a major increase it's still faster than before. When his mana was full Ren went right back to examining objects. This Ren repeated this cycle for 10 hours straight. When he ran out of new things to examine he walked around the school. During the 10 hours of training, the level of [Sage Eye] shot up a full 10 ranks to intermediate lvl 2. Right now if he examined an object Ren could see what material it was made of if he knew about that material. If it was something he wasn't familiar with it was only show question marks. Meditation also ranked up but only to intermediate lvl 4, though 2 intermediate ranks in 10 hours is still impressive, many would be envious of that kind of progress.
Ren decided that he had practice [Sage Eye] more than enough today and decided that from now on he would just examine a few object every day in raise its level. Meditation he would have to work at a lot more to raise its level and he might run into obstacles like the one in between beginner and intermediate. It was now mid-afternoon and Ren was in the library looking through old maps in an attempt to find where Dur Tharum might have been. The maps Ren qas looking though became older and older but still nothing showed up.
"Do you need help with anything?" a voice said above Ren
Ren looked up from the map to look at the speaker. The speaker was an old man in a long brown and green robe with a pure white beard that reached his chest. This man was the librarian who was in charge of the general library.
"Yes actually," Ren said, "I'm looking for an ancient dwarven city called Dur Tharum. Have you heard of it?"
The man thought for a minute.
"Can't say I have." He said, "Could you tell me where you heard of it? I might be able to help you narrow down its location."
"It was mentioned in a book titled 'Master of None'. I found it in the back of this library." Ren said
"By the way, what’s your name?"
"Krono"
The old man nodded then moved on and left Ren to his searching.

*Later that night in the headmasters office*
*Knock Knock*
"Come in." the headmaster called out.
The door to his office opened to reveal an old man in a green and brown robe. It was the librarian from the General Library. The Librarian walked in clutching a book to his chest.
'Ah Phineus, what brings you here?" the Headmaster asked.
"It seems we missed one." the librarian, Phineus, said.
"One what?" asked the Headmaster.
"Dur Tharum" Phineus answered
The Headmaster's expression immediately turned serious.
"Has anyone seen it?" He asked
"Only one that i know off." the Librarian said, "A student by the name of Krono. I found him looking through maps, trying to locate the city."
"Do you think he'll succeed in finding it?
"If he doesn't give up than it's only a matter of time."
"Do you think he'll give up?"
"I don't know. He seems quite interested in finding the city."
The headmaster nodded than waved his hand and a book flew from one of the many shelves landed on his desk, and opened to the desired page. The top of the page had the name 'Krono'. The Headmaster picked up a quill, wrote something on the page, than closed the book and returned it to its shelf.
"We'll have to watch him for now. Luckily one of his instructors this term is Yurbek. Make sure to inform him of the change and tell him that I don't care what he does, he just has to keep an eye on the boy." The Headmaster said
"Yes sit, it will be done. "Phineus replied, "For the good of the people."
"For the good of all"
Both of the men raised their left hand and the symbol of an eye like sun floating above an open book surrounded by a ring of runes appeared briefly on their palms.
