In my room after the feast
From the last conversation, Billy wants to be my companion. After discussing it with the village chief, he just said that it's to be expected. A lot of young men tend to be leaving the village as it's not much to do here anyway.
But for me, it might occur a situation where I need to explain everything about my 'magic'. That in itself is not a big of a problem as I can explain it's just physics and science, not magic. But if it goes too far that I need to explain my whole existence, he might end up worshipping me because after all, I'm the one who causes this whole world to be made.
Oh well, I'll think about it later. Now with the money from Rando and Val, I can improve my arsenal once more. Let's see...
My Handgun skill is improved to Lv2 and I unlocked some of the more advanced handguns.
I like something like a Glock to change my 1911. I have a concern for the body armor of this world but other than the handling and controls, a Glock is not giving much of an improvement in that sector.
I've also unlocked an FN 57 that have a much greater penetration power compared to 1911, but in term of stopping power, I rather keep my 1911.
For now, I'll use my Remington for the job. Even if I met an enemy with a steel plate, getting a punch from a 12 gauge slug will easily break some rib.
Hmm.. then let's change our focus on fire rates, a big group of bandits is another one of my concerns after all.
Assault rifles that are unlocked are the old semi-auto ones so it won't do much in terms of fire rate. A machine gun is just too bulky to maneuver especially in the middle of a sword fight when everything is fast-paced. So my only choice is SMG for now.
It's not much of a choice to begin with, as the unlocked model are all from post-WW1 until the middle of WW2. I end up with a choice between Nazi MP40, American M1A1 'Tommy', and Soviet PPSh-41.
MP40 is the lightest, easy to conceal, and the easiest to maintain.
PPSh-41 has the most fire rate and with that 7.62x25 Tokarev rounds, it also has the most muzzle velocity.
And.. Tommy gun is Tommy gun. There isn't much to talk about it except it's a very iconic gun. There's a 10mm model, but sadly, as it's an afterwar reproduction model, it's not unlocked yet.
[Let's just go with the PPSh] Me
And also grab a welrod MK1 while we're at it. No one knows when I need a silent killer later.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Downstairs in the morning after.
[So, are you decide when you'll be going?] Val
[Let's hear yours first] me
[I of course going to Romora to sell the hides] Val
[We're also going back to Romora. There isn't much of high paying job in the village anyway] Claus
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
[Isn't this a high paying job though?] Me
[Yeah, but something like this is a rare occurrence. Often time it's just a wild boar hunting in a village like this. To be honest, they have greater opportunities for a jack than for mercenaries.] Claus
[How about you Andreas?] Me
[Unfortunately, I also going to Romora today.] Andreas
[I thought a bard like you would go to a village in the middle of nowhere] me
[That's not the full story. While it's true that something interesting tends to happen in a secluded place, just like what Claus said, the information itself is circulating faster in the city. By the way by the looks of it, do you want to go to another village?] Andreas
[I think so. I really want to go to the city actually, but because I'm new in this industry, I'll stick to the much safer job from another village for now.] Me
[Hmm.. that's too bad. I really want to stick with you and get more of an interesting story, hahaha.] Andreas
[Oh well, while you're here, why don't you bring this with you?!] Andreas
[OWWW. That's a bard sigil! Lucky you!] Claus
[Bard sigil?] Me
He gave a miniature flute the size of a key chain. It has really nice details for its size. Oh! Even the string tuners are working.
[Yes, it's a prove of trust from bards. You can show it to any bard out there and they'll tell you any interesting request they have for free. But in return, they might want to follow you to that particular request. Don't worry, we bards are known how to do our job without being a hinder.] Andreas
[Dean, I'll also give you this. A map of Kenari kingdom. I hope it can help you in your journey] Val
[I don't have anything to give you. Don't ask! No one tells me we're changing present here!] Claus
[Hahahaha. Thank you all. Hope we can meet again soon. Cheers!] Me
[[Cheers!]]
---------------------------------------------------------------
While getting ready to depart from the north gate.
One of the villagers also wants to do business in Romora so Claus group, Andreas, and Val are going with him using a cart.
Me? I'm walking. But at least I have a map now so I should know where I heading.
[Is that Billy? So you decide to bring him along?] Val
[Yeah. Because my next job will probably have something to do with wild animals, I think bringing will be of much help.] Me
[Right. I forgot he's actually a hunter. Oh well. We're off now. Take care you two. Goodbye!] Val
[[Byee!! Have a safe trip!]]
.....
[Yosh! Let's us depart too, Billy. Goodbye, everyone! Thank you for taking care of me!] Me
[Goodbye! Thank you for everything you do for us! Billy! Make sure to always follow Dean's command!] Rando
[of course village chief! I'm in your care Mr. Dean.] Billy
[yosh! Let's go!]
