Chapter 10: Silent Rage
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Glengain spent his adult life chasing a dream by the time he noticed he was now over 40 years old. After his student Edin left Glengain had more free time. He still instructed The little sister Sue but she seemed more interested in her ninja training. Glengain suddenly found himself with more free time.
There wasn't much to do in the village of Porahi. The village people lived a simple life of working and coming home to their family. Glengain then met Shyla, Shyla was 30 and single. The reason she was single was because after her sister’s death she raised her sister’s daughter Divya. So Glen began flirting with her. Eventually nine months after Edin had left Glengain added a home to his research tower. Then he proposed to Shyla soon after they were married.
Shyla was now three months pregnant. Glen was happy with his newlywed life.
Glen was buying food at the market square when the old drunk ninja Amano Shunji ran up to him with sweat pouring out of him
“Shunji what’s wrong?” asked Glengain
“Have you seen Mr. Freestone?” asked Shunji
“No, why do you ask?”
“It’s bad an army is heading this way and it’s not the Nagayoshi clan.” answered Shunji
“I set up a few traps but they’ll be here within the hour, Glen I’ll find Mr. Freestone you warn the villagers.”
Shunji then ran not waiting for an answer
Glen did as he was told. All the villagers were told to run away to the nearby port town of Naoni
Glen ran towards his home but Shyla was pregnant how could he get her to the port town of Naoni.
As Glen pondered this Divya rode up to them on an elephant
“Good thinking Divya, Take your aunt and go please,”
“What about you,” asked the ten year old Divya
“I’ll stay here and buy you all some time,”
“No come with us!” screamed his wife Shyla
“I’m sorry honey but I am not asking I am ordering you to go please,” Glen told his wife
Shyla didn't try to convince him otherwise as a man’s word was law in the village of Porahi
Glen watched as his wife and new niece rode away on an elephant.
Glengain then gathered all his mana crystals and recharged his staff then he waited
In less than 30 minutes an army had arrived
“Farborh may your rage become my flames that burns my enemies to ashes,” chanted Glengain
“FIRESTORM!”Screamed Glengain
A huge wave of fire then struck the approaching army and engulfed over 25 men who’s cries could be heard as Glengain tried to chant a second spell.
That was Glen’s most powerful attack and it had cost him over half of his mana stored in his staff
“Yuna may your holy water purify the sins that are my enemies,”
“Hurricane rain!”
Then a sudden storm of water pushed away several men most drowned while others were knocked unconscious
That was it Glen had used everything he had. His staff was now manaless. The enemy army surrounded Glengain worried if he had another attack up his sleeve but Glengain indeed had a trump card. A forbidden technique in which one used their own life force as a substitute for mana.
Glengain was completely surrounded and as he was preparing to use his own life to take down a couple of guys with him he suddensly saw an elephant smash a hole in the encirclement.
Riding that elephant was Divya’s father Sahir. Sahir was Mr. Freestone’s right hand man and glen’s brother in law.
“Get on!” Screamed Sahir as he offered his hand
Glengain took the hand and mounted the elephant.
Glengain was glad that he wasn’t going to die. He really wanted to see his baby grow.

Edin’s POV
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I had spent an entire year with the Nagayoshis. I made friends with the clumsy girl Tara and formed a great friendship with the serious Kojiro. I also for the first time in my life seriously gave it all my effort in to training. The old me is dead but Edin has the Blood of Freestone in him. It’s like acquiring a new instinct for bloodshed.
I was riding for nearly two weeks making very few stops. My horse was on the brink of death but as I neared my home I saw smoke. I Used magic and strengthened the horse’s muscles. Along the way I noticed many ninja traps that a few unlucky soldiers had fallen prey to.
I was scared of what I would find. Would I find my family dead? I've never had a death in the family; I've been to funerals of uncles or aunts who I only saw on holidays. Would I seek revenge or would I simply give up.
As I reached Hawk’s nest my horse probably died of a heart attack and tumbled over. The fall hurt but I only acquired a couple of bruises. Then I ran the rest of the way to Hawk’s nest.
When I arrived to the front lawn I saw a dead elephant. It had multiple arrows and spears stuck in its corpse. It also had an old scar from a tiger claw. It had a dead body impaled in its tusk. There were several burnt bodies laid around it, these bodies belonged to the Umura clan’s army.
I remembered this elephant. It was one of the most aggressive elephants we had. The same elephant that had went on a rampage a couple of years ago. Only two people had the skill to ride this elephant whose name was Fury. One was my Father the other was his right hand man and foreman Sahir.
“Echo Search.” I instructed echo to search for my family. He was a smart dog I hope he remembered their scents
While echo went off into the jungle I searched through the bodies. Then I found Sahir’s decapitated Head.
Damn it. I didn't know him much but he was Divya‘s father.
Then I saw a body wearing familiar robes. It was the wizard and my teacher Glengain. He didn't have any visible wounds. There was no blood but he was definitely dead. It was as if he simply fell over dead.
I was sad my eyes were watery but I wasn't truly devastated. I was pissed off course and I’d make sure he’d be avenged.
As I was inspecting my teacher’s body 15 men came out from the manor. They were laughing and it seemed like they had just looted my home. Then I saw that one of them had a necklace.
It was a necklace I had bought from Lucy’s father. It was a gift for Sue’s Fifth birthday. She always wore it. It was a silver necklace with a gold elephant pendant.
I lost it. My mind went blank with Rage

Myles POV
--------------------------------------------------------------
Myles Townway was a knight better known as Myles the unrelentless. He was part of the royal guard of the Ganeleon Kingdom. The royal guard was an elite group of loyal warriors who only took orders directly from the king.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
They were different then the castle guard who were elite soldiers who garrisoned the castle.
The royal guard could command the king’s army in times of war but in times of peace they were responsible for guarding the king and his immediate family. Thus a king had to be a good judge of character.
The present royal guard only consisted of three people but the most a king had ever had was 14 royal guards. However The three royal guards had a closer relationship with the king than most brothers.
Myles was escorting the king back from the Thisadora Kingdom. They were going across the unclaimed jungles.
A month ago when they crossed through a local Lord offered them his hospitality. The local Lord so called Mr. Freestone had asked the king for help as he was threatened by Lords from Yamato. The King had said that he’d think about it and would answer him when he returned from the Thisadora Kingdom.
Now they were on their way back. Myles wondered what King Adequin would do.
Myles was at the Head of a force of 500 Mounted Knights when he noticed smoke in the distance. Then a scout approached him
“My lord it seems a force from Yamato is attacking The Local Lord’s manor and village.” Informed the scout
Damn it
“Inform the king; ask him what we should do.” Said Myles
“Yes My Lord,” answered the scout
Myles pondered what the king would do. If they helped they could potentially anger the lords of Yamato. The Lords of Yamato may unite under the same banner to fight the Ganeleon Kingdom. Myles decided that he would do whatever the king asked of him so he tried not to worry.
The scout returned along with the king
“Your majesty the king should stay at the center of the formation,” advised Myles
“Bah, I’d like to stretch my legs,” said the King
Myles sighed. Knowing that arguing with the king would prove fruitless
“Well then let’s go.” Said King Adequin
“Huh?” said Myles dumbfounded
“Gather 30 knights and let’s go Myles,” said the King
“But my lord,”
“No buts, I’m going whether you like it or not,” said the king
Myles knew how stubborn the king was so he did as he was told.
They rode their horses as close as they could without being discovered. Then they dismounted their horses and continued on foot.
They arrived to the Lord Freestone’s Manor. They saw the corpse of an elephant and a boy on his knees. Then as if on cue 15 men came out of the main door carrying loot.
The boy turned his head and looked at them. Then the boy and enemy soldiers gazes met. Then a sudden pressure emanated from the boy. It was a silent rage.
Then Myles and company gazed in awe at what was happening on the front lawn of the manor.
The boy carrying a Yamato style sword lunged at one of the soldiers and in one single stroke he pulled out and decapitated the fellow. The other men were also shocked by the time they drew their swords the boy had already taken another two out. Although this time the cut didn't go straight through and left their heads hanging by the skin.
Now there were 12 men surrounding the boy.
One of the men swung his sword at the boy but the boy deflected and disarmed the man. As the sword flew in the air the man’s hand had been cut clean off then the boy caught the man’s sword and impaled it into the man’s head.
Myles looked at his king and asked
“Should we help!?”
“No.” answered the king without a moment’s hesitation
The boy was encircled by the eleven remaining men. It looked as if the boy was muttering something. Then he raised his hand and threw a fireball at the men
Not only was this boy a good swordsman but he was able to cast a fireball without a wand or staff.
Myles was astounded
The fireball hit one man who died in agony.
Ten men stood wondering if the boy had anything else up his sleeve. The boy did not wait for the enemy to strike, he ran towards the manor. The men chased him and as the boy got closer to the walls of the manor he jumped and then jumped off the wall and like an arrow he impaled the closest man in the neck. The boy then used his feet to push himself and draw the blade from the dead man. The boy fell on his back and rolled to the left. He stood up and swung his sword at the closest man. This man however seemed like the leader of the group as his skill was easily shown. The boy and the man traded blows for a few seconds when another man swiped his sword. The boy jumped back avoiding the second man.
The first man however did not let up and managed to cut the boys calf. The boy simply grunted to express his disapproval. Then he grabbed on to the first man and bit down on his ear. As the man screamed in pain the boy pulled out a small dagger and drove into the side of the man’s head. The boy left the dagger inside the man’s head as he rolled away and stood up.
The boy was now limping due the cut on his left leg. The boy breathed heavily with rage.
The boy then fell on one knee. The men seeing this as an opportunity went forward then suddenly the boy grabbed a handful of dirt and threw it at the men. The men were temporarily blinded. It was enough time for the boy to thrust his sword into the nearest man’s chest. The boy grabbed the man’s sword.
The boy was now holding two swords, one in each hand. The boy went forward and aggressively swung his swords at one of the men. The man could not handle deflecting two swords at the same time. The boy cut the man’s neck. The man fell and it seemed like he was choking on his blood.
One of the men was carrying a bow. The man shot an arrow at the boy and hit the boy’s right forearm. The boy while growling in pain threw a sword as if it were a spear and hit the bow man.
Of the original fifteen men only five were still standing.
The boy was now only able to use his left hand to swing his sword. The five men however were wary of the boy. It’s not every day that you watch a ten year old boy kill ten of your comrades.
“Your majesty please we can still save the boy,” requested Myles
“I think I want to see the outcome to this fight,” said the king
Myles had never felt like disobeying his king but right now the thought of watching such a talented boy die was appalling
For the first time in his life Myles disobeyed his king and went forward
“HURRAAHH!!!” screamed Myles to catch his enemy’s attention.
Myles carrying a two handed great sword easily cleaved through the first man. Myles than kicked a second man in the crotch and as the man bent down Myles decapitated him. Myles dressed in full plate armor then rammed himself in to the third man bringing him down and knocking him out to be questioned later.
As the men were distracted , the boy used this chance to drive his sword in to the fourth man’s head.
The fifth man ran away.
Myles sighed with relief.
But then the boy swung his sword at Myles.
“What are you doing!?”
Miles dodged and looked into the boy’s eyes. Myles had seen this look on some veterans of war. The boy had lost his reasoning. The boy had not vented his anger yet.
Myles deflected the boy’s next swing and used his elbow to knock the boy unconscious
