Narrie's birthday circus surprise
Chapter 9... Not a rumer anymore.

Chapter 9... Not a rumer anymore.

Chapter 9: A reporter in our mists.

Narrie Trish Alexander Middlecreek here and guess what? It's "School roomers day"!

(Picture of nerdy Ryan Chestnut roaming the hallways.)

"So today is the first day of the rumors." Ryan said into his Selfie stick, he's the reporter who...

"I think that they're doing away with him, or the town rumor mill articles or something..." I randomly blurted out, but..!

"Really?" Someone obviously listened though..! "He's one of the good ones, he usually keeps it interesting."

Well anyways... About once a month Ryan comes here to school and does a story about the rumors spreading. DON'T WORRY! They totally edit out the juicy parts.

ANYWAYS... It's something that I really like about this town.

I sometime even get in and they give me a gift card but... I probably should have opted for the cash to stuff into my mostly empty piggy bank huh?

(Picture of My piggy bank has a whole $1.26 in it...)

WELL...

I really like doing it. And sometimes, we get to pick our favorite rumors or stories to go in the paper like a vote and it's really awesome and I even got picked twice and I haven't even been to this school for long and...

I mean, I lied, I have been in front of Mandy's camera, one of her shows once, I mean, I even get to be on Lauri's videos all the time!

Mandy laughs and on the comments she says that I make the show!

I mean... It is so cool but, I'm kinda afraid that Lauri's feelings and I don't think it would because there wouldn't be a show if not for Momma's cooking!

Well..! I am kinda pretty sure that I'm right about this circus theory, and if I'm right, then I'll certainly get to be on TV!

So basically... I'm going to be seen by thousands of peoples! So what kind of performance should I do huh? Should I just model some cool clothes? I bet I could even get free clothes to do that!

"Same day." So Sunny drew this comic about when I decided to blurt out my prediction about the circus coming to town present for my make up birthday!

(Here's a comic that my other best friend Sunny Crumpet drew.)

Narrie and her parents are sitting at the coffee shop while Aaron is listening to my best friend beg her parents for that stuff that mom doesn't let me have...

"So," There I was, begging my parents for some after school coffee to look like a super mature preteen! "if I confess something really big can I have some coffee?"

"Do you need coffee to confess it?" Momma Lauri asked,

while Mom turned the other way as she probably thought... "You make her ask???"

And then the last caption of Sunny's comic said before everyone in the cafe knew what I blurted out, "And is it important?"

(Not really but...) "Yeah and (ABSOLUTELY!) YES!!!"

So... After we talked and... Mom realized that she was way over her head.

Basically? The phone didn't stop ringing about the circus that she started the rumor of and you know that I totally blame Aaron for ratting it all out to his barista parents.

Remember that little guy in the hallway? That same little guy?

Yeah him... And of course by the next day it even got into the front page gossip paper!

Front page; "Circus performers wanted for back to school circus party at the Middlecreek inn."

By the way, the deal about the inn is that our house was an inn in the old days, and a lot of the people in town were born around here, and like, how long does it take to grow a grove of trees? 50 years? Are people really that old?

"Aaron!" Yes, the kid who ratted me out in his parents cafe! I was being really quiet too! And he... Well, "How old is your dad?"

"Papa is 40? I don't remember, I just remember Mom puts like a lot of birthday candles on his cake and I was like... "Want me to help?" And then I did, and well... I am certain that Dad does that for me on purpose because he does like to play the big wolf in the play!"

"What I mean is that..." He was nice enough to explain his jumbled up brain as we walked down the hallway, "I couldn't blow them all out..."

"Alright."

"Papa blew softly behind me and I heard a whistle and he helped me blew them out and he didn't even lie about it at all! He said that it's very important to understand that we all need help sometimes, and that's the reason why I asked them to help you!"

"Okay..." Me? I just hope that Mom really does sleep tonight, she slept last night, but sometimes I see her tired shadow in the morning and... It still stresses me out. The thing is it's one of those things that I am supposed to talk to them about.

The person who talks and stuff, they had me write a letter right? And in this letter is a confession right? And... Their going to mail it to my parents at the end of the year right?

Even if I don't... Don't tell my parents... I mean I can totally tell them not to send it, but... Yeah...

What am I supposed to say, huh? "Mom..."

That's how my letter started, "I am always going to be worried about you. But EVERYTHING is going to be ALRIGHT. Staying up and worrying all night IS NOT going to help."
