All humans went under an awakened test attempt. It was important because humanity needed all the help they could get to fight the Pestilence.

Cyrus walked in an all white room with a bold man with a lab coat and glasses waiting for him.

" Just walk up to the mirror and put your hand on it. The mirror will do the rest" said the man.

"So this is a True Mirror" Cyrus thought looking at the tall mirror in front of him.

It looked like a completely ordinary mirror. But everyone in the modern world knew exactly what these Mirrors did. There were 100s of videos with millions of views showing people awakening their spirit animals.

Cyrus walks over to the mirror with him being able to hear his own heartbeat in his chest. He touches the mirror and for a second he sees his body outline with blue energy in the reflection. But no spirit animal appeared. He continues to look at himself with no reaction from the mirror again.

"Well, the bad news is that you haven't awakened a spirit animal. The good news is that if you can afford to buy one your body is suitable for one. The man in the lab coat said. "You're free to leave."

Cyrus lets out a sigh. As he makes his way out of the all white room.

" With my luck I shouldn't be surprised. Maybe I should take Pauly up on his offer as long as we bash the right heads in we should be able to afford a Spirit Beast gem for at least one of us.

As soon as Cyrus looked up all of those thoughts were blown away out of his mind. He locked eyes with the warmest and most comfortable eyes he's ever seen. He knew that as long as this person was by his side he couldn't deliberately place them in harm's way if it could be avoided.

Maya makes a concerning face as Cyrus continues to stare at her. "Are you ok? She asks.

Cyrus blinks and comes to himself. " Yea I had a wandering thought. I'll wait for you in the lobby. He says as he walks past her.

Cyrus meets his other two friends in the lobby currently looking at the Holo-monitor that displayed the room he was just in. But now it showed Maya.

Cyrus Instinctually scanned his surroundings. Growing up in the less attractive part of the city he always made it apparent to look for anything that could be potential danger. Even when in one of if not the most secure buildings in the city he still kept his guard up. Nothing caught his attention particularly until he saw a man in a lab coat who didn't look like any scientist from the Spirit Beasts Association. They all had an insignia on the left side of their chest. This man didn't have any at all.

Cyrus got the attention of his two friends "Aye, how long has that guy in the lab coat been here? Was he there when you all got out ?"

Still looking over at the man he notices that the man's expression turned into a menacing smile. Cyrus eyebrows furrowed. Without taking his eyes off the man he tries to get the attention of Darius. "Darius, what do you think of this guy?"

Darius doesn't turn around.

"Darius!?" Cyrus said a little louder now, taking his eyes off of the strange man and turning to his friend. " Bro what are you do-"

"Look" Darius pointed at the screen display with his mouth dropped like everyone else around them.

On every screen now showed Maya and her True Mirror reflection. She had awakened her Spirit Animal which she could refine into a Spirit Beast and become a Guardian.

A voice came through the loud voice in the lobby and throughout the whole entire building. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a new Awakened. Maya River has awakened a Spotless Swan Spirit Beast bringing pride to this part of our city."

The Spirit Beasts Association wasn't allowed to give away the rank of the Spirit animal but just the name alone one could tell that Maya's spirit animal wasn't ordinary.

All of the recruiter immediately got on the phone with they're higher up to till them of the situation. Some were already crowding around the exit to catch Maya first and make her an offer.

"Come on guys let's go, you know Maya hates crowds of people". Aria says, making her way through the growing crowd.

Maya walks out of the white room with an expression on her face like she had seen a ghost. " I actually awakened a spirit animal." She mumbled to herself before she could have a coherent thought. She had multiple people asking her questions.

"Ms.River, how would you like to join our guild? We can offer you amazing benefits," said a business woman in a suit handing Maya a card.

Maya took the card impulsively. She had multiple other professional business recruiters representing guilds all around the city trying to hand her their business cards.

Before she could get overwhelmed her best friend appeared in the knick of time to save her. "Alright everyone back off! If Maya wants to do any business with you she'll contact you directly. Ariasaid.

The three friends form somewhat of a bubble around Maya as they make their way out of The Spirit Beast Association building.

As they make their way out of the building Maya turns to her left to speak to Cyrus. "I don't think I know what I want to do." She said nervously.

"That's ok we'll talk about it once we're back at the orphanage. Cyrus replied.

Once out of the building and into the open air the four friends relax a bit until they see two figures descend from the sky and land in the street in front of them. As the two figures landed a ring of dust shot beneath their feet causing dust to hit all of their faces. When the dust cleared two humans both male and female emerged from the dust.

The man was tall with Sandy blonde hair and a strong jawline. While the woman had sharp eyes and light purple hair. The thing that stuck out most about them was the wings on their back. Which looked completely natural on the both of them, their wings look perfectly proportional to their bodies. The man's wings were a deep rich brown color while the womans were completely black.

"Partial transformation"

Darius said out loud.

The Blonde eyes were furrowed until he made eye contact with Maya. "Aww yes she is definitely the one." The man said as he and the woman walked towards the four friends.

As the man and woman walked toward them their wings disintegrate in blue light partials as if they were never there to begin with.
