Ah~~! I love this new great sword~~!
It’s as hard as that stupid lizard and as sharp as the Great splitter I had before but it can get sharper if I cover it with magic power.
The dwarf made it strangely. First me melted iron then crushed some bones and melted them with it before making a bone iron alloy. Then he made two heavy bulky guard things that go on both sides of the blade and attached it with a simple metal guard and a bone handle. Those bulky bones formed a second blade on the other side of the sword and because of the hardness of the bone I could defend with it.

As simple as it may sound I can even hunt drakes alone now. Still it feels strange to hunt alone. I got used to using pack hunting strategies that a victory by killing alone feels a bit empty.
Well it’s not like my tribe has to worry anymore. All tiger apes ranked up after we all feasted on that Barroth and the next day on some drake.
As of now with the dwarfs making weapons it’s begun to get easier to hunt in the dungeon.
Still, in our race a gap was built between the saber tooth tigers and war tigers.
We still all live together but because all the tiger apes ranked up into war tigers the space between the two races has become empty.
We noticed that the tigers and cats can only hunt in the cave floors and need to run when something like a Sauros appears down here. They can keep the silver wolves away but there is still a lack in strength between all of us.
After Mavis left to some place leaving us here, Dalson told me about a few monster changes that will appear soon. He set up a rank up for the wyverns so it was going to be more dangerous again.
That time I asked him a quick question.
Helen: 'How do you make a rank up for the monsters in the dungeon?'
It took him by surprise for a moment before thinking.
Dalson: 'When I make a rank up without changing the monster itself, I put my hand aimed towards the core of the monster or person and link it to Mavis's MP. An image of who I am changing appears in my head and then I start changing it and making something stronger. It first becomes a variant then the next generation of offspring will be changed further and make the true new race.'
Helen: 'Heee~! So it was like that. I thought it was more complicated.'
Dalson: 'Mavis gave you the ability to be a queen for your race right? Are you going to enter Beast man race now?'
Helen: 'No, no one, not even me, have enough MP stored up to do that. I think there might be more to it. Maybe it's a cultural thing but I don't know. I asked because my tribe built a gap between the saber tooth tigers and war tigers. All the tiger apes ranked up.'
Dalson: 'You are going to make more tiger apes?'
Helen: 'No, a new race.'
His eyes lit up. He has always been like that. Speak of a rare or new species of monsters few have seen and he wants to find and study it. I can see why he was made a queen.
He follows me after that to my...village I guess. Can’t call it nest or cove since so any near sentient creatures are here now. And yes the village was built separately from the human village on the fifteenth floor as well as in Mavis’s world on the floor below.
There walking about were many saber tooth wild cats and tigers and among them were the war tigers. The kids were playing about with several kids playing on top of the tigers who were laying down and looking at them like their own cubs.
Dalson: 'Exactly "what" do you plan on making?'
Helen: 'Well I noticed how killing a strong monster has gotten sort of empty after us gaining the power to fight the monsters with those weapons. I can kill drakes alone, also we aren't as fast as we used to be. Obviously we are a fast race but the effectiveness where we used four legs to run is gone. Tight turns are hard if we don't use blur or wind magic.'
Dalson: 'So in other words, a mount.'
I confirm with a nod.
Helen: 'But not like a horse where it's dominated. I was thinking a smart partner who would stick with you.'
Dalson smiled and chuckled a bit. He then pulled his book and pen and after creating a new page he drew something for me.
After ripping it out he showed it to me.
Dalson: 'This is what I see when I make alterations or a new race.'
The picture showed a ball and the word monster which was probably where the creature’s image sat. On the upper left hand corner was extra appendages, then to each area showed the head and a few attachments he could add and how he could change.

Helen: 'Isn't this rather simple?'
Dalson: 'I thought so as well. Still I want your view.'
I looked strangely at him before he explained.
Dalson: 'This is the view of a regular queen which can simple choose the basic layout of a monster and how it looks. I want to see if it's different for a race queen who specializes in a single type of creature.'
Now I get it. Put simply, he wants to know if I can use more opinions.
Dalson: 'Come, let’s find you a cub with lots of potential. Make sure to use a queens MP sight. It does wonders to find those with greater capacity.'
I do as he says and activate the skill I got after Mavis made me a queen.
The smooth walled cave, that had bioluminescent moss lighting it, turned all blue. The moss radiated a lot of this and the bodies of my people did so as well but they were colored green.
Helen: 'Whoa!'
Dalson: 'I thought the same thing. Green is a dungeon creature that is friendly, blue is neutral, orange is a dungeon creature but enemy or predator that may attack you and red are enemy invaders. If invaders enter but are peaceful they would fall to yellow but some more dangerous would be yellow orange.'
Helen: '...that's complicated.'
Dalson: 'I know. Anyway if you focus on any living creature their glowing body will turn into a small sphere which shows the size of their MP capacity.'
I focused on an adult tiger and the body spun until it became a ball the size of male war tiger’s hand. (Think a chubby construction workers hand)
I looked at an adult war tiger and the ball that formed was as big as his chest.

Helen: 'Let’s go see the cubs then.'
I led the way through the cave complex to the nursery where all the mothers give birth and care for the young.
The place had many wild cats that were trained to do the task. Even with the fast growth, saber wild cats take a week to reach adult size, tigers take about three weeks, tiger apes about two months and war tigers have yet to have a child born in this rank so we can't say.
I looked over to where the saber tooth tigers nursed their young. There was already a brood that was out and about.
With the queen's eyes I looked from on to another and soon I found a tiny female still hiding near its mother instead of playing. She had quite a bit for her size but was scared to move so the others were catching up as they played and exercised.
Cubs like this one have a hard time since they are more passive but if trained they regain their tiger nature.
I told Dalson to stay back since he was of another race, the mothers would be overly protective.
I walked to the tiger that lay watching her cubs.
When I approached she looked my way but with a purr in feline language I said.
Helen: 'May I look at the young scared one.'
The tiger looked at me while measuring me. Even as the leader a mother will be a mother.
She nodded and purred.
Tiger: 'I sense no malice, you may see her queen.'
She bent over and lifted the young cub by the scruff of the neck and dropped her in my hand.
Ah~~! Damn I wish I could hug and pet her without scaring her~!
As you can notice I have two passions. Big swords and tiny furry creatures.
The tiger mother notices the change and asks.
Tiger: 'Everything ok. Your body suddenly tensed.'
Helen: 'Yes, I just thought your child was cute.'
Tiger: 'Huh, cuteness won't keep her alive.'
I could only smile warily at that. Tigers don't possess the understanding to think of things like that. Still I use my right index finger to scratch just below her chin. The little cub tenses but soon after her tail starts to wave with the rhythm of my petting. I moved to behind her ear and she relaxes completely in my hand and I support her with my arm as she melts in pleasure purring.
Those nearby are taken aback by the strange purring of the cub. I smiled before putting the cub back near her mother. She pulled the cub close after some resistance from the cub. Before she was pressed close she let out a high pitched cat like meow.
Cub: 'More!'
The clear word that came from the cub shocked everyone. The mother of the cub frowned and began growling as she began speaking.
Tiger: 'Queen! What did you wish to do here in a place mothers nurse their young?!'
Her voice had lost the gentle tone and now held the tone of a powerful mother caring for her babies. I could only sigh seeing it like this.
Helen: 'You all should know that all the tiger apes ranked up. I wanted to make a new rank up to replace it. The number of our kind is already large and strong but I want to make a companion for the hunters. I wanted to use your cub to make that creature.'
She looked at me surprised and started to purr in delight.
Tiger: ‘You would give my cub such an honor. If that is what you wish, you may take her as your companion.’
She let go of the cub that in turn ran into my arms and snuggled up close.
I could only smile. Is sat down cross-legged and but my hand on her back and with magic power in my hand I tried connecting.
It was strangely easy and the small stream of magic power moved into the cub before connecting to the tiny core in her chest.
I then felt the magic power all over my body slowly release small fiber like string. It extended far and I could feel the magic power all over the place filling the air. I never really knew so much was here.
I tap into it and pull it in and close my eyes. In my mind I see the tiny cubs appear then rapidly it grew up into what it will look like as an adult. After that what Dalson normally saw appeared. From every spot on her body a small option to alter appeared but there was more. Several windows appeared showing how much magic power her body held, what affinities she had, her strength, speed, aerodynamics. It showed size and weight and was almost overwhelming how many options. To say this was a detailed ranking up was an understatement.
I could understand why Dalson makes variants first before a new race. It simply has much more options.
The normal tiger, on all fours, 1 meter tall and 2.5 meters long from nose to the tip of the tail.
I imagined myself riding on her and see how efficient her movements are. First problem I see is that the tiger are bulky and my weight added to her would slow her down. A saber tiger can cover five meters in a second with two bounds but when I imagined that with me on her she did it in four because her movements were more restricted with me there as well as the extra weight.
I tried making her with slimmer but denser muscles. I notice that the change causes her speed to shoot up but the bare that shows stamina consumption also rises.
The change makes her nearly her much thinner and with me there she is slower. Her movements are more fluid but I would still get in the way with my legs hanging.
I then try making her larger about the size of a young horse at 1.5 meters tall and 3 long. It drastically improves her strength but speed drops but that is compensated by the strength and with my legs up higher the movements aren’t as obstructed.
At this point I notice her MP is 0 so I absorb more from Mavis and it rises. Continuing I make her muscles a bit bulkier but dense and the strength and speed increase while she returns to the standard tiger look and not a starved tiger.
The movements are fluid with little obstruction and the speed is on par with the Sauros or Ox when they are running away.
I think for now this would do, oh that’s right her brain. I want a smart companion so I press on the head and then further into the brain. I start adding more until the brain develops to the same rank as the tiger ape. This will make her much smarter and I need that when I teach her. Finally done I open my eyes and smile. The little cub was sleeping in my lap and I look at the tiger mother.
Helen: ‘I am done making the changes. She will grow much larger than a normal one so don’t worry about it.’
The mother nodded and I returned the sleeping cub to her mother so she can grow properly.
It will take another week before she reaches adult age and I don’t know how she will be with the new growth. I do know though that she will be a big eater.
Hope she grows fast. I want to feel the wind in my fur with her as we both hunt down the beasts of this place together.
After that I draw all I saw for Dalson who was fascinated and told me to experiment more with the cats because I could make lots from them if I was creative.
