I have up to chapter 6. I will be releasing up to chapter 5 today before i start doing single chapter releases
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s been two days since the guys left them here so I was having them help a bit.
At this time the twin elves were holding the dungeon layout that Rey and the others made on the ground. because I can move my view around as I liked and was currently looking at it from above. I would then move back and make adjustments.
The first floor was undergoing complete remodeling. Before I had a simple corridors simply to connect the rooms and I had 6 rooms with a mishmash of nests, havens and coves for animals. But now with this thought out plan and all the MP I got out of the magic items and the items and whatever kind of rubbish they left behind, I am making a real maze dungeon.
In terms of blocks I do 2 blocks wide and between each room around 25-35 blocks. (37.5 - 52.5 metres each)
In terms of size, I am still a small dungeon. Here, this is what my stats currently look like.
Dungeon Name:Mavis ShinDungeon rankYDungeon TypeCaveMagic Power15450Number of levels1Number of Rooms13Number of Biologicals267Number of Non-Biologicals35Number of Drops0Dungeon skills1
If you set 1 room out for the twins and 8 non-biologicals as the stuff I made for their room, (beds, desk, bath, etc), the rest were traps and instant activation spells. I had a LARGE variety but I focused on economy for now. I needed to get a proper dungeon up.
One thing I did do though was keep my entrance open most of the night. A good number of Goblins have been wandering around the area recently, probably hunting, so the idiots came in. They can survive up to room 4 but then the wild cats start cutting them down. When the cats get too hurt they run and hide to heal up leaving the injured goblins to lick their wounds and watch the dead companions be absorbed by the dungeon.
Also since I can close my portal whenever a large group enters, which is like a venus fly trap. They can’t get out. A few that survived and ran for it found they were trapped. They stayed in the first room eating up the rats and bats.
It wasn’t long before the idiots were woozy of the corrupting magic power of the dungeon.
Without noticing I safely led them deeper into the dungeon to the 8th room. Connected to that room was an area in which, with a bit of detailed questioning to Help, I had built a hidden primitive rest area that goblins would sleep in.
Those who fell in would be further corrupted from the MP that the beds subtly releases. By morning they were already under my control. I would take them to the further into the 9th room which is attached to the rest area but only through a small hidden opening at the corner of the room. There I made a really huge room of around 50 x 50 x 7 meters where the goblins are building a village to act as a breeding ground. I can’t actually build this with MP. It’s a construction which I need the residents to make because of some mentality that Goblins only stay in a village they build.
It was currently being built so I didn’t have goblins as part of the dungeon food chain.
As I finish up the first floor I end up having 12000 points remaining. I also have the requirements for a second floor. The size seems just right but I look at another option besides the level up one.
BiologicalDungeon Lord6000 MP
Yep, it was the great beast that guards the Dungeon heart. It seems it also had its own requirements. For one the dungeon heart must be inside the room the dungeon lord fights in, don't ask me why it just is. Second; the room must be higher than 5 meters and at least 40 x 40. The dungeon room will be the resting place of the dungeon heart and as the number of levels it will sink down with the dungeon being the final zone.
The Dungeon Lord is also my body. I am the one who controls it. The shape and form I choose after I create it but it is virtually my own body. What's amazing about it is that it contains 3 cores inside it to ensure it’s the strongest monster in the dungeon.
Mavis: So exactly how do I determine the body form?
Help: It is normal to take the race of a creature within the dungeon itself and become an advanced rank of the creature. Depending on the amount of MP and the size of the dungeon the Dungeon lord will change. Current races within dungeon. Goblin, Rat, Bat, Wild Cat and Wild Dog.
The mongrels probably didn't survive and went extinct.
Mavis: What form would each one take?
Help: Unknown, your knowledge of the monsters within your dungeon is too small to know the outcome.
Really discouraging for sure. To not know what I will appear as is far too risky of a gamble. I have go over all the dungeons we know of that helps a so called boss monster.
Goblin bosses were usually Ogres or goblin shaman who led the tribe. The rats are said to have a king rat but those are sewer rats. The mutts I don't even know.
To tell the truth i was really worried about everything related to the dungeon lord. I would pretty much regain my body so that would mean that I will die if it dies.
The elves and dad notice me go silent and the shifting in the dungeon had also stopped.
Phil: "Something wrong?"
Mavis: "I was thinking about the dungeon lord. Rey told me to get it instead of a second floor but i really don't know which race to base it off.
Theo: 'You made your father a rat so why not make yourself one?'
I could understand his logic. It would keep us more or less related but I can't base this decision on a whim like that.
Julie: 'You can change your race right? Why not try it, it’s a dungeon boss so it’s not like it won't be powerful. Also rats are fast so it will be easier to move about.'
The girl was much more persuasive. It is true that I can change with enough power. My father has also shown off the speed off a rat's speed. I have yet to see though if the rats have skills or magic capabilities. Dad wasn't some wizard and barely knew the fundamentals. He knew enough to cast the dungeon spell at the time but only because he helped develop it.
Mavis: "*sigh* Guess I have nothing to lose besides some power."
I look once more at the option and press the dungeon lord option.
A window appeared asking which race will be the base for the Dungeon Lord.
The list showed every type of bug, bat, rat and any other creature within my dungeon currently under my possession in the dungeon.
Next to the rat I saw the feral rat. I thought a moment. A regular rat was quick but ferals had better natural weapons than the small ones.
I aim and hit the feral rat.
In seconds I feel a massive amount of MP draining from me and heading to the wall to the right of my dungeon heart.
The MP begins to gather and swirl in three spots close to each other, gathering the mana I released.
Once all the mana gathered into three orbs they crystallized and moved close to each other before releasing the mana within it. Normally you would think that is something to worry about but as it released the mana it came out of the three cores as a mass of muscle which quickly connected the three cores together and grew faster.
When the mass was about 2 meters big it started to get smaller and compact. Arms, legs tail, claws and fur took shape until the body was formed.
The newly created dungeon lord then lifted its arms and with its hands closed in a fist he punched the wall making cracks appear. Then a kick followed by a punch. With each hit the walls shook and began falling apart until it could pass through.
It clawed its way out of the walls and fell onto the floor of the large chamber limp.
(The way the Dungeon Lord is built, with 3 cores, is inspired from the one in Lair the same with the rapid growth from a ball of meat. The spawning method comes from Danmachi)
It was then that I noticed that the mind was empty, so I focused on it and got it to stand.
Slowly it turned over and was on all fours but I pushed up until i sat on my hind legs.
Finally sitting i could check my new lord completely.
His body figure was more human now with muscular arms and claws from the last digit of the hands on. The fangs were as sharp as daggers and would probably work as an arrow head if replaced. The legs were still rat like and a huge tail extended from my back. My fur was wild like it should since it was based off a feral rat and it was silver in color.

All in all it looked really powerful.
I focused on it to check out the stats on it and get an understanding of what I will be using.
Race:Feral RatmanLevel:1Class:Dungeon LordHealth:1200Magic:100Intelligence:250Strength(attack):450Endurance(defense):400Magic Defense:100Magic Attack:150Skills:Steel Claw, Metal Tail Whip, Berserk Mode
Well that’s nice. It’s a really physical race and to add a cherry on top it comes with earth affinity magic.
I look at my hands and claws. They were much bigger and the claws were nearly as long as the finger themselves. My feet had two toe claws which, with a bit of martial arts training from a monk or someone like that, can utilize with deadly results.

Phil: "Everything ok Mavis?"
Mavis: "Of course, couldn't be better."
I ball up my hand and clasp into a fist before throwing a punch forward. The strength I could get behind my punches was also good.
I turned around at the three and walk somewhat wobbly on my hind legs.
Mavis: "It feels like it’s been forever since I had a real body. I wonder if this is what dungeons feel like when they can gather enough MP to create one."
Phil: "You’re making me jealous just looking. Damn it! Why did you make me a basic rat while you get an even more advanced Feral rat."
Mavis: "Not my choice on that part. Rats and bats were the only choice at the time. Most of the animals were out of my complete control unlike the ones with cores that came after."
The feral rat frowned but I grinned. I looked back down on my body and became curious about my strength and the skills. I think the best way to get used to this body is to work it out.
Mavis: "Let's go, I want to test my power. I think a small group of cats should do."
I walk out of last chamber with the others behind me. With each step I slowly got accustomed to the way of moving. The trick is having the tail balance out my body. I’m a bit hunched back because I’m probably good at running on all fours as well as on two legs so some characteristics remained.
The twelfth room just before my heart's chamber had some of the stronger monsters that mutated inside my dungeon.
The wild dogs could probably be called devil hounds. They were well mixed in their dog and wolf characteristics and their size was quite large. Their strength has grown well but strength hasn’t helped them catch dad yet. The man is slipperier than a brown rabbit running through a group of foxes without them noticing.
Dad’s size if he could stand up on his back legs like me would put him at the size of a 5 year old. It's rather strange how fast he is growing but it's not like he kills many of the mutts. He is faster that's a certainty but his strength comes from surprise attacks on small numbers inside the corridors. In a room he requires at least 3 other feral rats to assist him to fight a pack of 5 mutts.
When I walk in, while the others stay in the corridor so as not to draw attention, the mutts instantly notice my presence. Unlike regular rats where they rush in they back off seeing me.
Guess instinct speaks volumes. Still, with numbers they don’t run which means if I do anything drastic they will fight.
Looking about through my Lord's eyes I notice the alpha dog isn’t here which means it's in the cove.
I should just use them to train my agility for now. I need to get used to the movements of this body so it should work.
The reason the hounds are even attacking me is because they are still considered animals. I can’t upgrade the cove to make cores appear in the pups so they are still attacking. It's much different for rats and bats. The small bug eater bats and rats are left to do their own thing but still have a core. They are the base of the meat food chain. They are found in around 7 rooms and all the corridors.
I made lots of systems of cracks through the dungeon connecting the rooms. This allows the small bugs, bats and rats to move through the whole dungeon.
Looking at the half scared dogs, I carefully pull my leg back and kick a small rock near my foot at one of the hounds in the back.
This causes them to attack.
My height is around 190 cm and I was about a meter wide. This meant I had more mass than I previously did. I was definitely going to get hurt while I trained.
Rey PoV
It's been a week already. We haven’t been going to the see Mavis because we can’t blow the cover.
A few of our lesser adventurous members who are less known to the public have been going to the slums and talking with the people passing around rumors of Mavis.
We also wanted the crime lord that we stole all the stuff to hear it. Morgan Helms was one of the sickest bastards who we have been on edge with since we arrived here.
The fucking bastards is a slave trader specializing in elves. When our group showed up here we were attacked many times but once our group of elves joined Phil’s group they gave up. They knew better than to attack dungeon divers like this group. When we first met them we thought they were crazy but soon got over it.
The rumor was that our man saw the thieves run into the woods and enter a cave. After checking it out they found the place teeming with monsters. A new dungeon in the area and the treasure was there.
It took a bit but after a week we spotted several men sneaking into the woods at night. One of our elves followed them and with a bit of discreet magic he led them to Mavis’s entrance. He has been leaving the entrance open during the night. It was part of the rumors actually. Because we don’t want beggars sneaking about this was also a requirement.
Most people wouldn’t take the risk of traveling the woods at night since monsters are stronger at night and dungeon monsters are even more so.
That said greedy thieves and adventures that don’t deserve to be one were willing to go.
They cut through the goblins who were around. The elves gathered them since they were left behind.
At the entrance a few bug eater bats were flying about outside and inside you could see a subtle glow from the moss on the walls.
The group going in was a regular adventures party led by a cocky ass warrior. 2 archers, 1 mage and additionally 2 other warriors. They would probably tear through the first 3 rooms before reaching the ferals who Phil commands. Even as a human, the man was a great leader, as a pack animal like a rat, let's just say it’s something even I don’t want to encounter unless I have at least one other man guarding my back.
As the party enters the entrance closes causing them to jump and jump at the wall where the door was.
Leader: ‘What's going on!’
Warrior 2: ‘This wasn’t part of the rumors.’
Mage: ‘Maybe because of all the treasure the dungeon grew after gathering a lot of magic power.’
Leader: ‘Don’t kid around. I’ve never heard of a dungeon that shuts its entrance like this.’
Archer 1: ‘Maybe it's a unique dungeon. The magic items that were stolen must have caused something in the dungeon.’
Leader: ‘Lets just get this over with. We are here already so we might as well conquer the dungeon. It should be a new one so it can’t have more than 2 floors.’
They push on. The first three rooms had combat variants of the bugs. They aren’t that noticeable since they just fly from one wall to the other. The group simply walks through. What they didn’t know was that the bugs in these rooms released poisonous and paralyzing scales.
This in itself was a laid trap. Within the first three corridors were also some wild cats and several well hidden poison traps.
Without noticing they were getting weaker and their movements were getting dulled.
As they reach the fourth room they were already getting tired. Their bodies heavy from the poison yet none of them thought about that. They did drink some health potions. The kind they had was weak for low class adventures.
Leader: ‘This dungeon is weird! Only a few dungeon wild cats and rooms filled with bugs. Where are the mass of monsters the rumors said.’
Hissss
On queue the feral rats began appearing. From the bigger cracks they began circling the room. Each room had packs numbering about 20 and Phil was the Alpha of them all, just under Mavis. The ones here are all under the collective mind control and are offspring of Phil making them much smarter.
Archer 1: ‘O-oi oi! What are these things?!’
Mage: ‘Rats. Feral Rats. They are unique to higher than normal density magic dungeons. It doesn’t fit this dungeon.’
Archer 2: ‘I think it does. This dungeon has a stable ecosystem. I’m sure it's built to absorb ambient magic power and rise up the food chain. Also the treasures the dungeon must have obtained from the thieves could have improved the quantity.’
Leader: ‘Are these things strong.’
Mage: ‘They are thought to be uncontrollable to a degree and highly aggressive. The fact that they aren’t attacking seems to be because of the dungeons collective conscious.’
Warrior: ‘Then let's not waste time.’
The stupid warrior ran forwards towards the pack. In an instant the rats spread out and circled him before clawing at the weakest areas where the armor connects.
In moments the man fell dead and the rats began eating him up while some eyed the others, specifically the mage. The person with the highest concentration of mana.
Leader: ‘Oi...that was a skill right?’
Mage: ‘Yep...a slashing skill. Earth affinity magic.’
Archer: ‘What the hell is up with this shit hole of a dungeon. Let's just smoke them and get out.’
Both archers nocked their arrows and the mage began casting his spell. The leader got in the way of the rats.
Not being stupid the rats jumped away swiftly. The party was up against the wall to not be surrounded.
The warrior leader took the hits from the front and sides all after using a skill from his class.
Classes are something everything with sentience has. The dungeon lord has them because the dungeon itself is a sentient being. The class the owner skills. Up until the past week only Phil and Mavis had classes in the dungeon but with the rat population getting smarter and gaining cores they gained some mediocre level of sentience to be recognized by the magic system which works this. This let them access weak skill similar to Mavis.
With the weaker skill, Iron claw, the feral rats can still hurt the leader through his own defense skill.
The mage and archer finish getting ready and start attacking. The magic was a ranged wind attack, a small cyclone was sent flying from the mage's hand sending flying several rats while the arrows were shot at the rats in the air.
Just as they began getting ready all of their bodies gave way and they all collapsed. Even though they were down the rats moved away. With their blurred vision they couldn’t see what it was but what they did see was the night sky and a person feeding them something.
Later the leader and his archers woke up in the clearing in front of the dungeon but the entrance was closed.
Leader: ‘...This dungeon...it's not for novice. We were saved by someone or something.’
Archer 1: ‘We should go back and inform the guild.’
They nodded and soon ran back. A few elves appeared after they were gone. I was among them. We waited until the portal opened. It was opened by a large menacing figure of a feral ratman. It was grinning.
Rey: ‘So how was the test of the dungeon.’
Mavis: ’Complete and utter success when catching idiots.
