The landscape is barren, only the charred remains of what was once a town. The small group of people are huddled together, many weeping. Except one person. A woman, actually a princess. She stands there in her lacy pink dress, ribbons in her curly hair with a pouty look on her face.

“I’m having a really bad day.” She says as she grabs the sword from a nearby knight who is still smoldering. “I’m not about to have a dragon take me out, I just freaking got here.”

The roar of the dragon’s wings is heard as it comes in closer, looking to catch what was left of the town on fire.

“Get down here you ugly beast” The princess yells up at it. “I wanna have a word with you.”

As the dragon gets close the towns people step back further into the shadows, the princess steps forward brandishing the sword. “Who in the heck do you think you are? And why are you burning this town down?”

“I’m an ugly, fierce dragon, that’s why.” The dragon takes a deep breath getting ready to set the princess on fire.

“You better not do what I think you’re about to do. I am already having a really bad day, you don’t want to make it worse.” She screams up at the dragon, stomping her foot.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

“Oh fuck off, it can’t be any worse than mine” He roared at her.

“Oh yeah, tell me about it.” She yelled back at him.

“Well for one thing, I’m a dragon, not a princess, not even just a human, I’m a fucking dragon for Christ’s sake.”

“That’s nothing, I’m a freaking princess. I can’t even freaking cuss right, cool air is blowing up this frilly dress, and I’m missing some vital parts of my body. So how is being a dragon worse? You can at least cuss.”

“I was a cute girl, I wore cute clothes, had purses that matched my shoes. When was the last time you saw a dragon with a Prada bag? I can’t even wear shoes. I’m ugly.”

“Jessica, is that you?” The princess’s voice softened as she took a step towards the dragon.

“Yes, how did you, oh, Dave don’t tell me that’s you?”

The princess nodded her head.

The dragon started laughing, “Oh no, you’re an adorable princess.”

“I should have been made a prince or at least a man, even that knight you fried, would have been better, although I appreciate you haven’t singed me, and I hope you don’t.”

“I could never do that to you.” The dragon’s voice softened. “You’ll never love me now, I’m hideous.”

“You’re a beautiful dragon, I’ll always find you beautiful no matter what.”

“Do you mean that?”

“Of course I mean that, Jessica, I will always love you.”

“Can you two take this somewhere else?” Someone from the crowd shouted.

“Do you mind stepping aside dear?” The dragon asked.

“No problem” The princess said.

With one big blow the dragon set the rest of the town ablaze.

“Come on, let’s get out of here.” The dragon said, lowering itself so the princess could climb on his back.
