Chapter 4: Let the games begin!

{Dominic}

I was super pissed when my little sister 32401 left me five years ago. I mean I know she didn't like it here but I didn't think she would find a way to leave!

My little sister 32401 was going to be the next leader of the A-Circle whether she wanted to be or not. I'm not going to kill her but I will break her. Uncle 42 has been wanting me to find someone else to take her place but I won't do that, it has to be her!

Uncle 42's been asking me why I want it to be her and my reasoning for that is the fact that I had been watching her even before she came to me. At first my Dad was the one set on having 32401 lead A-Circle because when he came across her, she had gotten into a fight with three schoolyard bullies. Just right when Dad thought he would have to step in to save her, she saved herself by kicking the schoolyard bullies asses. Dad was rather impressed by this and according to 32401's mother that wasn't the first time she'd been in a fight like that. Her mother told Dad that ever since the first bully she beat the crap out of she kept getting challenged to fights over and over again and every fight she won.

Her mother eventually got tired of dealing with the aftermath of the fights that Dad convinced her mother to drop her off at the lab. I loved the fact that 32401 had a sassy attitude the day she came to me. But I did have to break her will a couple of times just to get her to cooperate with me.

Today I was just as on edge as I was the very day 32401 left me. I couldn't stop pacing back forth in my office trying to figure out what to do. I rolled my eyes when my phone rang. I picked it up, "Hello? What do you want this time?"

"Dominic? Your Dad is here to see you," my secretary said. "Do you want me to send him in?"

"Yes, that's fine," I said. I hung up the phone and there was a knock on the door. I opened and Dad did not look happy. "What is it?"

"Can I come in?" Dad asked.

I nodded and motioned for him to take a seat next to my desk. He sighed, "It looks like we know exactly where 32401 is now."

I perked up. "Really? Where?"

"It looks like she works for an advertising company as the boss's assistant," Dad said. "Capturing her and bringing her back is going to get a little tricky. It appears she has outsiders helping her and she's changed her name to Emily."

I snarled. "That little bitch when she gets back here I'll make sure Uncle 42 does a test to make her forget that name!"

"Calm down Dominic!" Dad said, "Not to mention she has an outsider friend named Anna who's helping her evade my henchmen from capturing her. And another issue is her boss has become obsessed with her and is now stalking her."

I blinked. "Are you serious? Her boss is now stalking her? Wow."

Dad nodded. "Yeah I know. Another problem is it seems that 32401 has been practicing playing with her guns again. I think it's a matter of time before her boss finds out that she's not a normal human. Good thing she hasn't gone to a hospital for injuries she's gotten over the years because the hospital would have no idea what to do with her."

I groaned, "Great I always knew she loved playing with guns because of how she can dodge bullets but she can be rather reckless sometimes. However…" I went from groaning, to forming an evil plan in my head. "You know something? It seems that this is going to be easy to capture her! I'll just kill anyone who gets in my way. In the mean, I say we wait and play cat and mouse games with her."

Dad smiled. "Oh? What do you have in mind?"

"We'll just toy with her for a little bit," I said. "Let her feel safe for a little bit. And instead of sending threats to her or her outsider friend Anna, we'll send them to her boss."

"And until the time comes I can try and dig up some dirt on her boss and then we can use it to blackmail him into bringing her to us," Dad said. "I already planted one of my henchmen working inside the company. Honestly, I can't wait to see how much 32401's grown over the years without us."

I nodded. "Same here."

Dad smiled a sinister smile and it was the type of smile that I loved seeing from him. Every time I've seen that smile it meant he was going to do something evil. He pulled out his cellphone and I tried not to laugh when he pulled up one his contacts that said, "Henchman #1."

He called the number and put it on speaker phone, "Yes boss?" Someone answered.

"Ah, so good to hear your voice right now!" Dad said.

"Uh… Okay?" The person said, "How can I be of service?"

"Hudson, you know that advertising company that I have you working for?" Dad asked.

"Yes?" Hudson replied.

"I want you to slip someone a note there," Dad said. "Nothing threatening just yet, more like a friendly suggestion."

"What do you have in mind?" Hudson asked.

"I'll send you the details by text message later," Dad said.

"Alright boss," said Hudson. "Do you need me to do anything else?"

"Nope that'll be all," Dad said. He hung up the phone before Hudson could respond.

I smiled. "Well then, I say let the games begin!"

"So where are we?" I asked.

"This place is the perfect area for you to practice playing with your guns!" Anna declared.

We were standing in what looked like a state of the arch gun range. The walls were made of bulletproof glass and there were at least a dozen robots that looked like humans hanging up on the walls.

"Is that why all of the walls in this place are made of bulletproof glass?" I said.

She nodded. "Yup! This gun range is state of the arch, considering the walls are set up like a game of laser tag, it'll give you a harder time dodging bullets and catching bullets too!"

I raised an eyebrow. "Okay, you seem to be a little bit too excited for me to play with guns today. Do you really think it's going to be a challenge for me?"

"Hmmm," said Anna, "Maybe or maybe not? We'll never know until you actually give it a try!"

"Exactly how did you find this place?" I questioned.

"Harry has a friend who sets up places like this. So I asked if Harry's friend could set up a place that makes it more challenging for you when you're playing with your guns. Harry and I put some of our money together for this place and it'll be worth it just to see you in action!" She said.

"How-" I started.

Anna shook her head. "Nope, no more questions! It's time for action!"

I nodded and Anna went over to a wall that had a big red button on it and she pressed it. After she pressed it the robots on the walls came to life, got off the walls and stood up in two straight lines facing each other. She took out a small remote from her left pants pocket and every single one of the robot's hands turned into guns and just about every make and model of gun you could imagine.

I gasped. "Whoa! Now that's cool!"

"I know right?" Anna said with a big smile on her face. She looked like a kid in a candy store picking out her favorite candy before dinner. "So did you bring your gun?"

I snorted. "When have I gone anywhere without my gun? Good thing I have a permit so I can carry it with me."

I pulled out of my right pants pocket a small black semi automatic pistol. The thing that I love about my powers is that I can use them to transform any gun into another gun. But I prefer my gun, however if needed I can pick up another gun in the middle of a gunfight.

"Yeah it's a good thing no one's tried to rob you yet," Anna said. "Because they would find out that they picked the wrong woman to mess with."

I chuckled, "You can say that again!"

"Excellent!" Anna said as she clapped her hands. "Alright let me get behind the observation deck so I'm safe and you give me the signal and let the gunfight begin!"

I snickered at Anna's excitement. Well if she wants a show, I'll give her a show!

Anna went over the observation deck and as soon as she was safe I nodded and gave her the signal. She smiled and pushed a button on her remote and the robots started going in different directions. The way the robots were running and firing their weapons made it feel like a real gunfight.

I grinned as I dodged the first few dozen bullets that were shot at me. I kept running as the bullets continued to be fired at me and I got hit a couple of times but I didn't care because I was having way too much fun to stop running. I did stop for a quick moment to take cover long enough to pull a couple of the bullets out of my leg and reload my gun with them. The most favorite part about me isn't just my powers, it's the fact that I'm crazy. Yes that's right, I love being crazy.

I loved hearing the sound of gunfire and I loved it especially when the bullets were aimed at me. I'm so crazy that I love it when I'm staring at the end of the barrel of a gun even if it means my death will happen once the trigger gets pulled.

As I kept running and firing my gun while dodging bullets the robots stopped running for a little bit. I rolled my eyes when I heard Anna over the intercom say, "Emily I really think you should stop now! I mean you gave me a show and all but we've been at this for a half hour and how many times did you get hit?"

I blinked. "Huh?"

"How many times did you get hit?" Anna repeated.

I looked down to see that I got hit three times in my left leg, one time in my right foot and two times in my left hand. "It looks like I got hit six times."

"Yeah that's what I thought," said Anna. "We're stopping for today."

"Aww, come on!" I whined, "I'm still having fun here!"

She came up to me and shook her head. "Nope, we're done for the day you might want to save your energy for when there's a real gunfight. As usual you did great! Let me put everything away and we can take care of your wounds okay?"

I nodded, put away my gun and sat down by a nearby wall. I didn't start to feel like my energy had been drained until I sat down. Anna ran over to me with a panicked look on her face. "Shit! Emily, are you okay? Look at me, how many fingers am I holding up?"

I looked over at Anna's hand but my vision started to get blurry as I saw what looked like she was holding up eight fingers with one hand. "Hey, when did your hand clone itself?"

That was the last thing I said before I passed out.

Another week passed and I was still stalking Emily. I was in my office when the mail guy came in and handed me a letter. There was no return address and it was a good thing I was sitting down when I read it because the letter was a threat towards Emily!

The letter read like this:

Dear Mr. Anakin,

I know a lot of things about your dear friend Emily. I'm not sure you'd wanna find out who and what she is. I want her to die because she's a threat to society. I also know you're stalking her and if you want to find out what she is then I hope this letter piques your curiosity and you'll agree with me that she needs to be eliminated.

Sincerely,

Anonymous Tipster

I read through the letter at least three different times and ran my hand through my hair in frustration. Emily's a threat to society? Yeah I find that hard to believe. When I did a background check on her before I hired her I couldn't find anything wrong. Her record was clean, she didn't even have any parking tickets to her name. From what I saw she hasn't done anything wrong. Unless this letter had something to do with the group of people called: A-Circle.

I tried looking up any information about the group but I couldn't find anything. I think whatever the group is might just be a gang or something like that.

I saw Emily walk into the office with a brace on her right foot. She didn't have any crutches with her so I'm going to assume that her injury wasn't that serious.

I gasped, "Ms. Key! What happened to your foot? Are you okay?"

Emily chuckled, "I'm fine and as far as what happened to me, I was playing with guns and I forgot to turn on the safety when I was done. I accidentally pulled the trigger with the safety off on it."

I flinched when she said that. I've heard horror stories about that happening before, someone's done shooting a gun, goes to put it away and accidently pulls the trigger and winds up shooting themselves.

She snorted, "Don't worry about me, trust me I've had worse."

"Exactly how much worse?" I asked.

She shook her head. "Not telling and honestly, I don't think you want to know."

I went to open my mouth to say something but then I closed it. I was going to ask her about A-Circle but I didn't want to seem nosy so I decided against it. So I just talked to her about stuff that involved work because I knew that as soon as she got off work I was going to 'follow' her around again even more now. At this point, I really wanted to find out who was threatening Emily and why.
