The next time I opened my eyes I was in my room back home. I noticed I was in my bed so I tried to sit up but I felt like I had a hangover from drinking too much at a bar and immediately laid back down. I tried to remember how I got here but nothing came to mind. The last thing I remembered was having to take off my shirt in front of Melody to be examined like an animal in a zoo.
I groaned, "What the hell happened to me?"
"I was wondering the same thing because you were knocked out a lot longer than I was!" I heard Toby say.
I looked over at him and he seemed relieved that I was awake.
"The last thing I remember was that I was knocked out during the meeting after fighting with Dominic and President Mike," Toby said. "According to Dominic I was out for two days! Not to mention he was rather happy about what happened at that conference meeting. I swear, just about everyone I've met who works for A-Circle are a bunch of psycho's!"
Even though I was lying down I felt the room spinning on me and I closed my eyes to try and get the room to stay still. I groaned again, "How long was I out?"
"Do you really want to know?" Toby asked.
"Yes," I said.
Toby gulped. "You've been out for a week…"
My eyes shot open and I sat up. "A week!"
"Calm down Emily, you were hooked up to a feeding tube the whole time so you had some nutrients in you," Toby said. "You're home now because the doctor gave you some medicine that was to help you wake up. And I'm glad you were asleep for a while."
I frowned. "What do you mean?"
"You've been under a lot of stress as it is," Toby replied. "I think a nice long nap is a good thing at the moment. The Doctor and Dominic have been talking about putting you on bed rest and not testing on you until the baby is born. I'm wondering if our child is going to be a handful like his mother is when he's born? Yeah I know we're having a boy."
"Me? A handful? Seriously?" I said.
Toby nodded. "And territorial when it comes down to protecting your family. Dominic said that you freaked out when you saw they had to give me tranquilizers to get me to calm down for whatever the reason."
"Yeah you really should work on your temper Lieutenant 32," I heard Dominic say.
I looked over to see him standing in the doorway and snarled at him.
Dominic rolled his eyes. "You're lucky that meeting went well despite you getting angry because had that been any other meeting I would've disciplined you when we got home for sure! President Mike was actually hoping that you'd flip out like that at the meeting and he was rather impressed with you when you did.
"Anyway, I have talked to the doctor and we've decided to put you on bedrest until the baby's born-"
I shook my head. "No."
Dominic blinked. "Excuse me?"
"I'm not following that order!" I snapped.
"Emily…" Toby said while giving me a sideways look as a warning.
My jaw dropped. "You're siding with him? Why?"
"Look, the only reason I'm siding with him is for your safety and the baby's safety as well," Toby said. He looked at Dominic and snarled, "As I said before the moment Emily's back on her feet I won't pull her off you when she starts beating the crap out of you."
Dominic snickered.
I rolled my eyes. "Seriously?"
Toby nodded. "Yes seriously. Don't worry I'll be here most of the time to help take care of you of course."
"And when Sergeant 54 isn't available, you'll have your former friend take care of you," Dominic said.
"And who might that be?" I asked.
"Did Auntie 91 ever tell you she's going to be a lab rat from now on?" Dominic said.
"You mean Anna? Yeah she mentioned something about that," I said. "Why?"
Dominic turned around and opened the door to reveal Anna standing there with a tray of food. I scoffed, "Of course you would send her here."
Toby gave me a sideways look and hissed, "Be nice!"
"Fine," I mumbled.
Dominic laughed, "Well I'll leave you to it. See you later!"
Dominic left the room laughing and I rolled my eyes. There was an awkward silence between Anna, Toby and I. Toby was the first to break it. "So Anna, how have you been?"
Anna sighed, "I've been better but I'm okay." She put the tray of food down next to the nightstand next to the bed. "Dominic said Emily needs to eat and if she refuses then I should use my new ability to try and shove the food down her throat."
I snorted. "Aww how cute! Dominic really does care about me!"
The three of us exchanged a look and burst into laughter. After we stopped laughing Anna said, "But it is true I've already gained a new ability that I can use to stun people with. I know I told Toby that I wish I had an ability like he does but I should've remembered the saying that goes, 'be careful what you wish for!'"
Toby laughed, "Oh yeah I remember that! Talk about karma!"

"So what happens now?" I asked.
"Well for now you should follow Dominic's orders because it would be best for you for a change," Anna answered. "And I'm sorry I didn't trust you enough to tell you about my plan to help you escape."
I nodded. "I accept your apology."
"And because I helped you escape Dominic's going through and interrogating all of his workers now," Anna said.
"Why does that not surprise me?" I said. I looked over at the food on the tray and it was a tuna fish sandwich with a side of grapes and a coke to drink. Seeing the food made my stomach growl.
Anna chuckled, "Looks like I won't have to use my ability to get you to eat. And if you're hungry once you finish this plate I go get you some more."
I nodded and took the tray of food and I surprised myself when I gobbled the whole entire thing in five minutes! I found that I was still hungry, which made sense because I am eating for two now.

{Ms. Draften}
I sat down on the couch in my living room and even though the Tv was on I wasn't watching it. I was staring off into space once again thinking about my daughter. I had been doing this ever since the day I sold her and signed over my parental rights to A-Circle Labs.
I got up from the couch and went over to look at the calendar on the wall in the kitchen. Today marks the twenty-first year anniversary of the day I sold my daughter to A-Circle Labs. That's because I sold her to A-Circle Labs shortly after her birthday. She would be thirty-four years old now.
I thought I was doing the right thing by my daughter. My daughter had a lot of anger and emotional issues and the leader of A-Circle Labs Mr. Anderson said he could help fix that. Then I found last year that I had been lied to! I found out that my daughter had been tested on and turned into something she wasn't supposed to be.
True Mr. Anderson did say he was running some medical tests to her for her treatment but he didn't say what type of tests he was running on her. I had half a mind to sue A-Circle Labs for this but who would believe me? Anyone I told about this would think I was insane so I chose to sit back and not do anything.
Today as I stared at the calendar and I finally made up my mind to do something and try to mend my relationship with my daughter if possible. Not to mention my son hates me too. Right after he found out what I did to his older sister and he found out the reason why his older sister would longer be coming home he disowned me as his mother. But because he was still a minor he had to live with me until he turned eighteen of course. I tried to make amends with him but it only made him hate me even more.
I understand why he hates me. It's because I'm a terrible mother. I did the wrong thing and it's time I at least tried to make things right. I picked up my cell phone that was sitting on the coffee table in the living room and I took a deep breath and dialed Mr. Anderson's office number.
Mr. Anderson's receptionist picked up on the third ring. "Hello? Mr. Anderson's receptionist speaking, may I ask who's calling?"
"Yes, hello?" I said, "My name is Ms. Draften and I would like to schedule an appointment to speak to Mr. Anderson if possible. It's in regards to a child named 32401 at A-Circle Labs."
"Okay then, how does Tuesday at 2:30pm sound?" The receptionist said.
I nodded. "That sounds great."
"Okay Ms. Draften, we'll see you then, bye now," The receptionist said.
I hung up the phone after saying goodbye. When I sat back down on the couch I let out a sigh of relief. This was only the first step into trying to make things right. The next step was going to be even harder.

The time for me to have my appointment with Mr. Anderson came around and much to my surprise I was ten minutes early. So I sat in the waiting room thinking about random things like the day my daughter was born. Her smile and laughter when she opened her eyes and saw me melted my heart. Who'd thought that she would turn out to be like her father one day.
Her father was supposed to be a good role model for her but no he just turned out to be a bad influence. The man even went so far as to smoke weed around her and he even had the audacity to introduce her to his wife and asked if his wife could adopt her!
I told him hell no even though his wife was smitten with her. Okay, so I guess my pride back then kept Amelia from having a good life but I didn't trust her father, not one little bit. Ever since I said no to his wife adopting her he just disappeared from my life forever and that was right around the time Amelia's brother Calvin was born.
Finally two o'clock rolled around and I was called into Mr. Anderson's office. Mr. Anderson sat at his desk dressed in his formal business outfit and if I didn't know that he was a total scumbag I'd probably be drooling over him right now.
Mr. Anderson wore a navy blue suit with a white shirt underneath the suit jacket and a black tie. His brown hair was combed over in such a way to compliment his good looks. He still kind of had a baby face and reminded me of one of those billionaire guys that would be considered a heart throb in a cliché romance movie.
But at the moment I had too much anger in me to consider complimenting his looks out loud.
"Ms. Draften, please have a seat! It's been six years since the last time you came here and we have much to talk about," Mr. Anderson said with a smile.
I nodded and as soon as I took a seat across from Mr. Anderson at his desk I said, "I want to see my daughter."
He cocked his head to the side. "Oh? And what makes you think she wants to see you?"
"I just want to see how she's doing and I want to talk to her…" I said.
Mr. Anderson narrowed his eyes at me. "Ms. Draften, last time I checked Lieutenant 32 isn't your child. If I recall correctly, you gave her to us."
I paused. "Lieutenant 32?"
He nodded. "Oh yes, I finally gave her a rank since she is to be the next leader of A-Circle Labs."
I gasped, "No!"
"Yes, think of it this way, Lieutenant 32 will become a famous business tycoon one day and I'll be right beside her and her boyfriend to show them off proudly to the whole world as such-" Mr. Anderson said.
"Wait, Amelia has a boyfriend now?" I asked.
"Yes, she does and she's pregnant and she's having a boy," Mr. Anderson grinned. "It's a shame you probably won't be there to see Lieutenant 32's child be born. Oh well, this is the consequences to your actions Ms. Draften. However, I will allow to talk to her one last time. You'll be able to say whatever you have to say but after that, you won't be able to come back to this building anymore. Although it might be easier for you to just write her a letter don't you think?"
I shook my head. "No, I need to see her face to face."
Mr. Anderson shrugged. "Alright then, I'll make an arraignment for you to talk to her at a later date."
With that the appointment was over and I went home.

The following days seemed to roll by rather slowly until one night I had a very strange dream. In the dream I saw a young boy who looked like he was at least around ten years old. The boy looked like a miniature version of me just as a guy and not a girl.
The boy waved at me. "Hello mom! My future self decided to use my ability to time travel and enter into someone's dreams in order to say hi!"
I paused and raised an eyebrow. "Huh?"
The boy did a facepalm and shook his head. "Sorry mom, I swear that sounded a lot better in my head. My dad, Sergeant 54, says hi as well."
"Okay?" I said.
"I can't tell you my name because I'm not even born yet and I don't know if this'll change the future much either," the boy said. "But I have to at least help save you from yourself somehow."
"Why? Will something really bad happen in the future?" I asked.
The boy sighed, "It depends on which way you look at it and no I can't tell you what it is. I'm taking a big risk coming here as it is. But what I will say is that soon you will have to make a choice about something and that choice will mean the difference between a good future and a bad one. From what I know of the choice involves your birth mother and that's all I can say. I figured if I gave you a heads up then that might help. But either way I'll see you in the future!"
Before I could say anything else the boy faded away from the dream and I woke up feeling completely confused.
