Toby and I headed into the store and I made the mistake of looking back to see two of Dominic's Elite soldiers walking as fast as they could to catch up with us. But before they could get close to us we ducked into a nearby toy aisle and knocked things over as we did that. I saw the first bullet coming before Toby even realized that one of the Elites had fired on their guns that had a silencer on it. When I saw it I turned around and caught it before it hit me. I cursed underneath my breath. "Shit!"

Toby paused. "What's going on?"

He didn't have to be told we were being shot when another bullet almost grazed his ear landing in front of him on one of the nearby toys. "Fuck! We need to-"

I skidded to a stop when I saw several bullets whiz past us and four Elite soldiers surrounded us at the end of the toy aisle.

"Looks like we got you cornered," One of the Elite Soldiers snickered. He was getting ready to say something else when I grabbed a nearby toy which was an action figure, tore it apart and tossed the individual pieces at him as if they were bullets.

The Elite Soldier managed to dodge the toy pieces while the other Elite Soldier who was beside him ducked around the corner of the toy aisle to take cover. As I was dealing with the Elite Soldier in front of me Toby dealt with the other two Elite Soldiers standing behind us trying to box us in. He grabbed one of the Elite Soldiers guns, disarmed it and tossed it over to the side. As the Elite Soldier who was armed charged at him, he used the Elite Soldier that he disarmed as a shield. The Elite Soldier that charged at him paused and tried to get a good shot on him but failed because Toby was using an Elite Soldier as a shield.

Meanwhile, I was fighting the Elite Soldier who was standing in front of me advancing on me as if he could take me down easily. The guy lunged at me and as he tried to grab my shoulders in order to put me in a chokehold I grabbed the guy and shoved him into the other side of the toy aisle knocking it over. The other Elite Soldier scrambled to get out from underneath the aisle to keep from getting crushed by it.

I looked at the Elite Soldier that I had shoved into the toy aisle to see that he was knocked out. I rolled my eyes. Seriously? Now I know Dominic doesn't train Elite Soldiers to be that weak!

On impulse I grabbed a jump rope and used the, as improv num-chuks as the other Elite Soldier standing in front of me. He tried to grab the jump rope out of my hands and I took the opportunity to wrap the jump rope around one of his wrists and pulled. I kept pulling until I heard a satisfying snap telling me his wrist had been broken.

The guy stumbled backward howling in pain. I kicked the guy in his stomach and made sure he fell flat on his back and after I did that, I pinned him to the ground underneath my foot. He struggled but I stepped on him harder and he stopped struggling. I took the jump rope and wrapped it around his neck and pulled until I heard another satisfying snap telling me that I broke his and judging by the way his body went limp and his eyes became lifeless, the snap of his neck gave him an instant death.

"So how many more Elite Soldiers do you think Dominic is sending after us?" Toby asked.

I shook my head. "I have no idea and I don't want to know. We need to head to the car as fast as possible. I'm sure Anna's worried sick about us!"

Toby nodded and without another word he ran towards the back exit with me following closely behind. Thankfully there weren't any Elite Soldiers who followed us back to Anna's car.

"What took you guys so long?" Anna asked, with a panicked look.

"Sorry, we had to deal with four of Dominic's Elite Soldier's," I said. "Let's get out of here as fast as we can!"

"Don't have to tell me twice!" Anna stepped on the car and did a really fast U-turn. The U-turn was so fast I was surprised I didn't get whiplash from it!

"Where are we headed to?" Toby asked.

"Two words," Anna said. "Gun Range…"

My eyes went wide. "Are you serious? Because we're bound to get caught there!"

"Yeah I know. But we can fight our way out and no one's there most of the time except us when we go there," Anna answered.

I sighed, "Fine then. Let's go because this is the only plan we have at the moment."

Anna sped up and we went towards the highway to get off on the exit that led towards the Gun Range. Before we even got to the exit I heard shots being fired at us. "Well fuck!"

I saw one bullet whiz past Anna's ear and I shouted, "Roll down the window!"

Anna's eyes went wide. "Are you nuts?"

I rolled my eyes. "Let's see how long have you known me?"

She deadpanned, "Good point!"

"Uh guys," Toby said. "They're getting closer!"

"Yeah I know," I said looking in Toby's direction to see what looked like five black cars. Two of them surrounded us on each side. Anna rolled down the window and I climbed out of the car and onto the roof before the two black cars could even think about boxing us in.

As I stood on the roof of the car I smiled at what I was going to do next. I knew they were mostly after me but I had no idea that they were also after Anna and Toby.

{Toby}

"What on earth is that nutcase doing?" Anna said with wide eyes as she saw Emily jump from the rooftop of her car onto the rooftop of a nearby semi.

I smirked. "I think she's trying to draw the attention away from us and it looks like it's working!"

I looked ahead of us and my eyes went wide when I saw two of the Elite Soldier's transform into animals. One transformed into a huge spider and the other one transformed into a wasp.

I didn't get a chance to see how the fight would turn out when I felt a bullet graze my right ear. "Well fuck! Something tells me they're not just after Emily."

"Yeah think?" Anna snapped.

I heard a loud bang as something dropped on the hood of the car. You've got to be kidding me!

That's when I thought about using my ability. Well it's now or never. Everyone else is using their abilities so I don't see why I can't join the party!

I tapped into my ability the same way I did before. I imagined myself turning into an Anaconda and when I opened my eyes my body was twice as long as it normally was and scaly. I wasted no time in shooting out of the backseat window and onto the rooftop. I laughed when Anna shouted, "Seriously? When we get out of this you and Emily owe me a new car!"

When I got onto the rooftop I didn't see any humans transformed into animals standing there staring at me, I just saw regular humans. I spun around so fast the Elite Soldiers didn't even see it coming as I wrapped around both of them and strangled them to death.

As soon as I did that I unwrapped myself and headed towards the exit that led to the Gun Range. Once I got to the Gun Range I saw Emily step out in front of me and she pointed her gun at me and said, "Stop right where you are Sergeant 22!"

I shook my head. "I'm not Sergeant 22, it's me Toby!" I quickly changed into a human and she let out a sigh of relief.

"Oh thank goodness you're okay!" Emily ran into my arms and hugged me tight.

I frowned when I noticed the blood coming from Emily's shoulder.

"It's okay Toby," Emily said, slurring her words.

Judging by how she sounded, she wasn't not okay and I began to panic. "You're not okay Emily! Come on, let's get you some place where you can rest for the moment."

"Oh I don't think you'll be going anywhere!" I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned around and my eyes went wide in anger when I saw Susan standing there with a smirking at me. "Susan, what do you want?"

"Well first of all, let me finally correct you. My name isn't Susan, it's Sergeant 22," Susan said. "And second I want Emily and her real name is 32401 and third I also want you!"

I shook my head. "No thank you! Last time I checked Emily and I aren't-"

Susan rolled her eyes. "This isn't about being in a relationship Toby! It's about bringing you guys home where you belong. Did you really think Dominic was only after 32401? Oh and don't worry 32401 just hit by a poison dart. It's the type of poison that will kill a normal human, but since 32401 isn't a normal human, it's just going to stun her and knock her out for a bit and I do believe it's already starting to work."

That's when I noticed Emily's body go limp but before I could react to it, Susan got behind me pretty fast and pulled me off of Emily and managed to put me in a chokehold. I fought her off to the best of my ability but her grip was very strong. "Shhh, don't worry you'll be back home before you know it!"

I felt the prick of a needle on my neck and within moments the world went dark.

{Anna}

I didn't know how many Elite Soldiers Dominic sent after us but it became clear even when Emily and Toby left me in the dust to get to the Gun Range the Elite Soldiers were also after me because they were still chasing me. I didn't want to lead them to the Gun Range that wasn't really in the original plan. So now that Emily and Toby are gone I figured it would be best to draw as many of the Elite Soldiers away from the Gun Range as possible.

I stepped on the gas and sped past the exit as fast as possible. When I got off at the next exit I took a sharp turn and spun out and hit a stop sign. After I hit the stop sign I turned off the car and tried to open the door. It took some effort but I managed to open it.

Before I could walk away from the car I heard someone clapping as if they had just watched some really awesome part in a Tv show or something. Then I heard someone laughing a sinister laugh and I recognized who was laughing because I could recognize his laughter from a mile away! It was Dominic!

"I never knew how many sympathizers with 32401 I had working underneath my nose until now," Dominic snarled. "I can't believe it was you and your fiance, Uncle 88 who helped 32401 escape from A- Circle six fucking years ago!"

I bit my tongue to keep myself from snarling at the horrid code names Dominic has his lab technicians use while working for him. The code names always start with either Auntie for female workers or Uncle for male workers. The person who was the head of us was Uncle 42 and I hated that man. He was a creepy man with a pot belly from eating too much food and not even bothering to worry about his health. The last I remember of him was that he was too obsessed with his "creations" to worry about things like staying fit and healthy.

I stepped out from behind the car and snarled at him. He rolled his eyes. "Did you really think you were going to get away with stealing from me?"

"Stealing!" I said, "She ran away of her own accord! I just helped her leave!"

"That's still stealing in my book," Dominic said. "Nobody and I mean nobody leaves A-Circle without my permission! Especially not a lab rat who is as valuable as 32401! Although I really should inform her of her new promotion when she wakes up…"

I paused. "Wait, promotion? When she wakes up? What do you mean when she wakes up?"

"Let's just say I've captured her and boyfriend and they're both sleeping peacefully in their beds," Dominic explained. "Oh yeah and don't worry I won't kill you or your fiancé. Lieutenant 32401 won't be too happy with me if I do."

My jaw dropped. "What! Lieutenant 32401?"

Dominic nodded. "Oh yeah, I figured I'd give her an upgrade especially since she is still going to be the next leader of A-Circle!"

"You're still stuck on her being the next leader even after she's been gone for six years? Why not just give up and pick someone else? She clearly doesn't want the job!" I said.

"Yeah I know, but I don't care!" Dominic growled, "She was going to be the next leader of A-Circle the very moment I laid eyes on her. And you know me, I don't change my mind even if I should."

I rolled my eyes at that statement. Of course he doesn't change his mind because he's a selfish bastard!

"So you have two choices," Dominic said. "One you can surrender and come with me peacefully or option two is you can try and fight me knowing you won't win and that'll just mean I'll have to knock you out."

I stood behind the car and weighed my options. But if what Dominic was saying was true and he had already captured Emily and Toby I had to go with him. My goal was to keep them safe from him but if he had them already then I failed. I sighed and came out from behind the car and after I put my hands up in surrender I said the one thing I hoped that I wouldn't regret later, "Okay, I'll go with you… I surrender…"
