"I'm sorry, ma'am. Usually, the next step would be to guide you to the occupation desk so you could find a role that best suit's your spirit item, but I've never seen anyone get a ring before... So I guess you can still head over there if you want, as she might know better than I do..." He said as he gestured to the desk apologetically. Oh? Did I actually stumble onto a super-rare item? Am I gonna be like the main character of my own anime!? My thoughts wandered as I headed to the Occupation desk, already thinking of how this ring would make me super OP.
As I reached the desk, the strict looking woman looked down at me quizzically; it seemed that she saw my item summoning but also had no clue as to what to do. "Excuse me,, young miss, would you mind placing your hand on this crystal? It will give me a better description as to what the item is," she said, holding a similar, but completely different one from before. Where the last one is amethyst, and this one looks ruby;; however, they were cut the same way.
I thought about not placing my hand on it for a second, "But OP anime characters usually hide their strength,," I thought, but at the same time, I had no idea what my item was capable of either, so I decided to go along with it, and placed my hand on it. That now familiar draining feeling occurring again... why do I suddenly feel so exhausted? Once it stopped draining, the same stats as before showed up, but this time with a little more information, as if this ruby was a grade above the amythest.

"Eh? Was my ring F-tier? Isn't that, like, the lowest grade possible in most grades? Also, what's up with these stats? They are completely unbalanced!" I thought to myself as I stared down at the ruby; the woman behind the counter looked at it as well
"hmm, you have average stats for a pixie, if a little low physically, but your dexterity makes up for it... however, I still can't figure out what your ring is..." She said in an almost questioning manner. A part of me is saying that she's really into research; uh-oh, if I don't leave now, she might ask me to stay and help her decipher this puzzle. "Uh, can I, um, g-go now?" I struggled to speak, both from my usual talking problems and my worry that I might have to be a guinea pig.
She didn't respond, instead turning to a wall of paper slips; after looking through them, she grabbed three and handed them to me. "Here, these are the types of Jobs I can recommend. Since I don't know what you're capable of, I had to pick the jobs that anyone can do," The lady said, disheartened; she was definitely planning on asking me to stay and figure this out longer if I hadn't said anything, glad I dodged that bullet. Looking at the three slips of paper, one being a herb gatherer, one being a runner, someone who runs when in a fight to get backup, and the last being merchant. As I look them over, she pointed to the herb gatherer "This one is less a Job and more what adventurers refer to as a "recurring quest" as in, you can just gather how much you find and sell them to the merchant guild." she said, practically saying I only had two options, a coward or a greed...
"Do I, um, do I need to pick n-n-now?" Jeez, how do people talk so easily? but her simply nodding and pointing to the two papers, hinting to the runner, made me internally sigh and chose merchant, I mean, yeah I have to talk to people, but it's better than being constantly made fun of for it. "Th, this one please" I said as handed her back both the papers while pointing to merchant, it should help teach me how to be better at talking anyways. Seeing me choose merchant despite my trouble talking, she simpy sighed to herself and marked it down. The Ruby, which was still glowing on the table now said: Class: Merchant
"Well, your training to being a merchant will be at the merchant guild, which is just south of here by flight, here, this'll help guide you to the guild." She said as she handed me a crudily made map, but it was enough to point out that the giant tree in the center was labeled as "Town Hall" and a few other trees with labels, to the north was the "Adventurer Guild" to the west was "Housing District," the east was labeled as "Forest Exit" and South was "Merchant guild." "make sure you keep that, as the merchant guild will need it" she mentioned once I had the map in hand.
I nodded my head in place of a thank you, before walking out of the town hall, nearly forgetting to cast the flight spell again. Hearing an audible sigh coming from the lady at the desk, my face flushes red as I quickly cast the spell and head South to the Merchant Guild... "Jeez why am I embarrassed? it's just a bunch of NPC's?" I shake my head to get the memory out of my brain and instead focus on counting the trees to make sure I get to the merchant guild tree. All the trees look exactly the same as it seems the Pixie's prefer to stay hidden, so this was really all I could do to make sure I was correct... honestly I don't know why I'm perfectly fine with the outcome, I mean, I love playing as a merchant in other games, but I always used the chatbox rather than using my voice, so this game not having one is going to be a challenge...
