Chapter 18: A New Look 2

Chapter 18: A New Look 2

Tia thought for a moment before answering,"Master looks good in anything."

Kenley couldn't help but wonder: Why had Tia suddenly become so charming with her words? Was she trying to flatter him because he was her master? He couldn't help but think this with a hint of suspicion.

Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind—what if the outfit had some attributes? In the past, when he played the game, outfits didn't provide any stat boosts, and they only offered cosmetic effects like glowing effects or skin changes, but they had no impact on combat.

But now he was in the real world. What if they did have effects?

When Kenley opened the outfit interface, his eyes widened in disbelief, and he even rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things.

No way. Could it really have an attribute boost? In the past, outfits in the game never increased charm, so Kenley was genuinely shocked.

[Strength Style· Brown Bear]

[Charm +15]

Note: Typical attire for Southern nobles of the Kane Empire, designed with the art of the Duchy of Kurze. This style is most favored by Southern merchants and middle-tier nobles.

Kenley quickly checked his total attributes. His charm was now 50 + 35 (Grace). Could it really increase?

He then opened the servant interface to check Tia's charm.

150 + 30 (Enchanting)!

Kenley vaguely remembered that the game didn't disclose the exact formula for charm, but players had tested that the maximum charm value could only reach 200 (Captivating), and it was incredibly hard to increase charm in the game.

But in the real world, it seemed different. What was going on here? Was this world completely different from what he had imagined? Kenley began to ponder.

Moreover, Kenley recalled that in the game, dark creatures like vampires and succubi could use charm spells on players, and if the target's charm was lower than theirs, they would most likely fall under the spell. Once charmed, the player would lose control of their body and be compelled to walk toward the charmer.

With Tia's high charm value, combined with her being a vampire, she must have charm-related magic. If she used her charm at the right moment—well, that could be incredibly effective.

"Tia, wait for me for a moment," Kenley said, quickly heading back to the tailor's shop.

However, after a while, he came back out with a dark expression.

Tyler's shop was already the best in the imperial capital, and the outfit Tia had chosen was the one with the highest charm value in the store—there was no better option available.

As expected, just like in the game, increasing charm was incredibly difficult. Kenley knew there were items that could boost charm, but he wasn't sure if the real world had the same mechanics.

Well, he decided to take things one step at a time.

Watching Kenley come and go, then walk out with a frown, Tia looked at him curiously.

"Master, what happened?"

Kenley shook his head, trying to clear his mind. There were more important things to handle right now.

"It's nothing. I just suddenly remembered something I forgot to bring, but it turns out I didn't forget anything. Let's go." After saying that, Kenley led Tia back into the carriage, heading toward the Adventurers' Guild.

At that moment, with Tia—such a stunning, enchanting princess—by his side, Kenley quickly became the center of attention. A mid-tier nobleman was walking around with such a striking beauty; it was impossible not to draw eyes.

As soon as they stepped into the Adventurers' Guild, a large group of male adventurers immediately focused their heated gazes on Tia.

"Hey, hey, look, it's an undead!"

"My goddess, it's real! But… she's so beautiful!"

"I can't believe it, such a beautiful undead, and it looks like a slave! How come something this good didn't happen to me? So frustrating!"

"Wait a minute, did you see that? That undead has the Mark of Devotion!"

"An undead with that? Am I seeing things?"

The Mark of Devotion was engraved on the back of Tia's hand. It was a symbol of status, an insignia that could not be desecrated.

And this was in the capital of Marlen, right under the watchful eyes of the Church of Light. No one would dare to forge the Mark of Devotion, unless they were seeking death.

Shocked, amazed, doubtful, jealous, curious—eyes filled with various emotions were cast upon her. Feeling the gazes surrounding her, Tia, who had always been calm, for the first time felt uneasy.

Kenley, however, paid no attention at all. He had long been accustomed to the attention and was unfazed by such scenes. After all, he was a world champion.

"I want to sign a contract and become an adventurer." Slap! Kenley walked up to the front desk of the Adventurers' Guild and slapped his hand on the counter, startling the receptionist who had been staring at Tia in a daze.

"Oh, oh! Hello! This is the headquarters of the Southern Adventurers' Guild in the Marlen Imperial City. May I have your name, class, and rank?" The receptionist snapped back to reality, though his eyes kept glancing at Tia.

Kenley inwardly sighed. Indeed, having too much charm wasn't necessarily a good thing.

"Kenley, warrior, first rank," Kenley said.

"Alright, please write your name here. The registration fee is 50 silver coins." As the receptionist spoke, he pulled a parchment contract from a drawer and laid it on the table.

Kenley didn't hesitate and quickly signed his name on the parchment. The process was swift, with no obstacles. Kenley had done this countless times before and knew the procedure by heart.

Once the contract was complete, a tattoo-like adventurer's mark appeared on the back of Kenley's hand, signifying his identity as an adventurer.

"By the way, there's her too. Please help her sign the adventurer's contract as well," Kenley said, pushing Tia forward.

"Of course. May I have her name, class, and rank?" The receptionist was momentarily stunned but quickly focused on the desk, trying not to look at Tia because she was so beautiful he couldn't take his eyes off her.

Although she was a servant, in both the game and the real world, she was still eligible to sign an adventurer's contract. In the game, however, each player could only take one servant into a dungeon at a time. He wasn't sure if the same rule applied in the real world.

"Tia, mage, rank 0."

Tia stepped forward, gracefully extended her fair hand to take the pen, and wrote her name. In no time, an adventurer's mark appeared on the back of her hand as well.

Once the entire process was complete, Kenley glanced at the notice board beside the reception desk and said with a smile, "I'd like to inquire, are there any special tasks available recently? I'd like to give them a try."
