War plans.

The beam dissipated. Okay, for stage four I need to gather all the leaders once again.

How do I contact them though? I have no idea where each of them are.

Shit. I now realize how stupid I was when I gave them their orders. I didn’t tell them when to return to hell again.

*sigh* I’ll probably have to track down each of them separately.

Well, no point in sitting here feeling sorry for myself. Time to return to the living realm yet again.

I performed summon dorm and stepped through the portal.

-

Ah, good ‘ol valentine. This place is looking fine and dandy indeed.

Oh, I know of a way to reach Luca. I’ll just ask David and Jesse since they have a connection with him.

I went over to the town hall, and saw both Jesse and David sitting outside discussing something.

“No, we should increase taxes by 9%! The people can pay up.”

Trying to squeeze more money out of the people, eh? Well, it doesn’t really matter.

I’ll be controlling everything around here in not too long anyway.

“Hey David, Hey Jesse. Have you got any idea where Luca might be? I need to chat with him.”

The two looked up from their paperwork and greeted me. “Luca is in the Kingdom of Avyllon right now, apparently.”

I nodded my thanks to the two. “I’ll see you two around, then.”

I launched into the skies. Hmm, where is that mountain… Ah, there it is. Pillan.

I turned toward the mountain and flapped my wings. This shouldn’t take too long.

Suddenly, one of the voices in my chest spoke up. It was Ragnar.

‘Hey Ragnar, what’s up?’

ANDRAS… WE HAVE VISITORS. YOU NEED TO COME HERE IMMEDIATELY.

Huh… That sounds unpleasant. ‘I’ll be there as fast as I can, just hang on.’

I began blasting flames from my feet and palms to gain more speed.

-

As I neared Pillan more and more, it became very apparent who- or rather what was visiting. Angels.

Why were they here? I thought I cleared up everything with God already.

I landed on the mountain in between the dragons and the angels.

“Hello, gentlemen. What seems to be the problem here?”

One of the angels pointed his spear at me. “I knew it! They’re being controlled by a demon!”

Oh… Rouge angels, eh? Acting on their own free will, eh?

I smirked. Sounds to me like closeted demons.

I pointed a finger at the angels. “You guys don’t seem to know the deal I made with God, do you? We established a truce. You’re not allowed to harm a hair on my head. All you can do is watch me at most.”

The angel who was holding the spear up lowered it. “How do we know you aren’t lying…?”

I grinned. “You don’t. But are you really willing to risk your status as holy beings for that…?”

One of the angels withdrew a sword from its sheath and pointed it at my throat. “Silence, demon. Nothing that comes out of your mouth is truth. All you do is lie!”

I grabbed the sword with my hand, and brought it up to my neck. “Stab me then and see what happens. I dare you.”

The angel looked like he was doubting himself, and made no move to attack.

I let go of the blade, causing him to lower the sword.

“As I expected. Typical angel cowardi-“

My words were interrupted when the sword of the angel entered my stomach.

The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.

It hurt, sure, but it was nothing compared to what the angel is going to be feeling in a moment.

The blade in my chest was the first to get corrupted. A dark color spread through the blade, replacing the brilliant glow of the angels with the pitch-darkness of the demons.

The angel released the sword handle in fear, but it was too late. His fate was already sealed.

The “skin” on his hand began to flake away, leaving behind only the darkness of demons in its wake.

The angel screamed in pain, and dropped to his knees.

Demonic energy thrives on bad emotions, and rushed up his arm in a flash. Before long, half the face of the angel was consumed by the black material.

Before long, he’d stopped his screaming. His entire body was now pitch-black.

The angel, now turned demon, opened his eyes. As he did, a flash of grey flame appeared on his skin.

The other angels in his squad all looked horrified at what had just occurred.

I smiled and absorbed the black sword into my body.

“If I were you, I’d beat it.”

As soon as the words left my mouth, daggers left the gray demon’s body and pierced the four angel’s necks.

They struggled for a few seconds, before finally passing on.

I looked at the demon before me. “Impressive. Mind telling me your name?”

The demon did not respond, and instead opted to jump off the mountain.

Huh, curious.

I’ll see them again when the war happens, I suppose.

-

I began gliding toward the kingdom of Avyllon. It wasn’t far from Pillan, easily reachable by simply gliding.

Hmm. Now I just need to figure out where exactly he is.

My attention was piqued when a large flash of red flames erupted from one of the buildings in the town.

Yep. That’s Luca all right.

I turned toward the burning house and landed outside. The people nearby were too busy running away to safety to pay any mind to my presence.

“Luca, why are you burning down this hut?”

Luca emerged from the flames, laughing hysterically. Then he noticed me. His face immediately got serious. “Oh, Andras. I didn’t notice you arrived… How can I be of service?”

I looked at Luca. “Oh, nothing major. Just need you for another meeting do discuss phase 4. Please return to hell, preferably within the close future.”

Luca nodded. “Okay, see you there then.”

I flapped my wings and shot into the air.

Hmm. Heltana and Olaf will be tougher to locate…

I connected to Ragnar’s soul.

‘Hey Ragnar. I need you to go looking for Heltana or Olaf. If you find them, please let me know.’

OKAY, GOT IT.

Being two looking will be more efficient than if only I were to look.

-

After flying around for a while, I came across another settlement seemingly out in the middle of nowhere. I’d never seen this place before, either on a map or in real life.

Curious indeed.

I decided to fly in closer to get a better look at the place.

Having learnt my lesson from flying in hell, I kept a lookout for any ballista that might be down there.

Huh, turns out these guys are more modern. They’re shooting FLAMING ballista bolts at me.

Eh, I can’t be bothered making this flashy.

I folded my wings behind by back, and fell toward the ground like a spear.

When I hit the ground, the shockwave of the impact sent everyone who were standing upright flying. Most of them hit the ground in a gory mess, but some of them were lucky to land safely.

Heltana is probably not here seeing as they shot after me. There’s always the possibility though, I suppose.

A blue flash of light emerged from the floorboards beneath my feet.

Hm, seems I was correct.

I moved out of the way, and Heltana came flying out of the floor like a blue spear emerging from the floor.

“Andras! There you are! I was in the middle of infiltrating this secret castle and-

Oh. Everyone’s dead.

That’s cool… I guess.” She began walking away from me grumbling something to herself.

“Wait, Heltana! I need to tell you something. “

She turned around with an annoyed look. “What???”

“Meeting. Please show up as fast as you can…”

“God fucking… It’s always meetings with you, isn’t it? Never anything else. Meeting this, meeting that. Fine, fine, I’ll show up as quickly as I can.

God. Men…”

She left before I could say anything else.

What a strange woman…

Ragnar’s soul chimed up in my chest.

I’VE FOUND HIM. DO YOU WANT ME TO TELL HIM ANYTHING?

‘Oh, great. Just tell him there’s going to be a meeting soon, and that he should show up as fast as possible.’

OKAY. TALK TO YOU LATER, THEN.

‘Later.’

-

I borrowed two corpses from the slaughter to perform summon dorm and stepped through the portal.

All four of the meeting members were already there, to my surprise.

“Damn, you guys work quickly.”

They all uttered the same sentence. “You told us it was urgent.”

“And I’m not saying it isn’t. I’m only saying I’m surprised you made it at such a short notice.”

They all shrugged and entered my castle simultaneously.

We moved into the meeting room and got seated.

“Hello people. Today is an important day indeed. We’ve finished phase three of the plan, and that means there is only one more step we have to complete. Phase four.”

“The table is set. The only thing that remains…?”

“War.” The table all exclaimed in unison.

“Precisely. War. Now, I would like to discuss with you your different roles in the battle.”

“Luca, Heltana. You two will be tasked with defeating the angels. There are plenty of them, sure, but we beat them in sheer power. Work together, and you’ll easily surpass their puny attacks.”

The two powerful demons nodded.

“Olaf. You and all your demons will be tasked with thinning out Heaven’s main line of troops. I’m talking holy warriors, paladins and the like. We outnumber them greatly.”

Olaf nodded. “It’s been a while since I last fought, but I’ll do you proud.”

I nodded. “The rouge demon is a bit of a wildcard, unfortunately. If you see grey flames, just… Give him space, I guess. He seems… Volatile.”

I took a deep breath. “Now, the most important battle. Mine and god’s.”

“I expect Jesus to be standing at God’s right side, as he always does. That’s why I’m also bringing my own backup, mainly Faron. Together, me and Faron will take care of the big man and Jesus.”

The three members all nodded. Olaf cleared his throat and asked me an important question. “What about Adrian though? His experience in combat and his human warriors should not be underestimated after all. I was actually surprised to learn of his absence from this meeting.”

I shook my head. “While it is true that him and his humans would fair well in a human-on-human fight, I’m afraid they would be nothing more than cannon fodder when faced with the might of heaven. They’re best kept behind the frontlines, and out of danger.”

“With that, you’re all dismissed. When I need you for the final confrontation, you will know. Trust me.”

The three all nodded in understanding.

-

Okay… Now I just need to give ‘ol God a little… motivation.
