Chapter 81: Rumble

Jac? The baron.

“Yes.” hood crouched down to a body and picked its pockets.

"No notes on any of them. Professional.” Hood opened a mouth. “Capsule inside teeth in case interrogated.”

Woah… real assassins!

Axton, you have been fighting with one every day.

Nope, he is different—a trickster.

Hood stood up and started walking to the ledge. "I believe Stalwart is involved. The fear in his eyes when Donor confessed about his ties to the Baron alludes to the old man having more involvement than just being a dick’s father. And with Cal's fake funeral and his friend's disappearance, it just became more likely that Jac Stalwart is a big player in this.”

Drac squirmed from within.

“Okay. take it back. The change sobered us right up.”

Drac blinked. Back in the driver's seat and a bloody sword. Drac tuned Aqua and washed his sword. His mind was a storm of thoughts. Drac walked to the edge of the roof to go back to his room to sleep. Maybe that would get him to calm down and remove the restlessness from his mind.

The roof trembled.

Mmm?

The roof trembled more. Loose tiles slip off and crack on the floor below. The building swayed, and Drac went lower to stop himself from tipping over.

This rumble. It's no wonder the tremors felt similar. Ready yourself, Drac.

Drac inhaled, and with a big exhale, he flared his aura. A white flame towered into the air from his body, covering him in a glow. Instantly, an aura collected on his sword.

Out of the cobbled street, a gargantuan centipede pushed through rock. Hundreds of metres high, a monstrous insect screeched, and many more screeched around. Drac looked around. A dozen centipedes exploded from underground. The insects wailed in the cloudless night.

Do it.

We can help.

Drac split into four.

Three Drac’s run off in different directions.

Fire won't work.

Aura can scratch it, but not much.

Marina’s drill.

The centipede dropped down on the inn with velocity.

“Fuck no.”

With aura-enhanced legs and pulse, roof tiles broke into pieces as Drac jumped towards the attacking insect. Drac roared as he hit the centipede on its face with his left fist. The pulse punch stopped the centipede in its tracks and broke its carapaces. Green blood leaked from a weak point. Above the insect, Drac tuned Murus and made a platform. Pulse rockets him down. Aura twists around his sword. Circling the blade faster and faster until it becomes a tornado of white energy. Drac roared and drilled into the centipede's head. He groaned as he tuned Ignis on his back and feet to push him forward and little Aqua to keep the green blood away. Drac put both hands on Heilong, and with a flare, the drill of aura grew, piercing into the monster. A sword of pure aura stabbed from inside to come out the other end. With a pulse and a flip, Drac escaped the falling giant carcass and landed on the tiles with heavy breath.

Well done.

Now, eleven more to go!

Another rumble.

From the rooftop, Drac looked down at the hole the centipede burrowed from. Minion insects pour out of the hole in the hundreds, like they have smelled the sweetest fruit.

Eeeeew!
