Chapter 67: Fighting insects.

Drac pounced on the demon with a wide swing. The insect blocked the attack from above. Drac tuned the sword to Ignis again and melted the demon’s sword until his Heilong went through it and sliced the insect's shoulder. The demon's exoskeleton stopped Drac's downward strike.

Dodge to the left.

Drac narrowly managed to evade a left jab that blew a hole in the air with its velocity. Drac hopped backwards.

“Interesting,” Drac said with a smile. He sheathed Heilong. And he went back to his usual stance. The insect threw away the weapon, and with a ground-destroying step, it launched itself at Drac. A left straight to the head was dodged and countered with an uppercut. Drac's punch hit the air as the demon leaned back. The uppercut turned in several jabs, which were blocked by exoskeleton armour forearms. The demon parried a jab and threw a right hook enveloped in an inky black aura. Drac dodged by bending and countering with a right hook to the body. Aura pulsed, pushing the demon a few feet away. The exo broke apart when Drac struck. Green goo leaked from the demon. Fear finally appeared on the insect’s deadpan face. A black aura exploded from the demon. Large fruit fly wings grew on the insect's back. They flap, making a disturbing buzzing sound.

This is disgusting! Amazing!

If I had control of your body, Drac, I would vomit right now.

The humanoid fly started hovering. Then, with a sonic boom, it reached Drac in a split second. Its right arm, coated in a black aura, struck at Drac.

“What is he doing?” Florida asked.

“He is playing with his prey as usual.” Marina leaned on her chair with her boots crossed-legged. Her hand lifted her hand to tune Murus.

They were taking it easy, like another day fighting bandits. But Flida forgot; they couldn't sense what she could. Flida looks outside the window. Beyond the blue barrier are the copies that fight against the minions and into the woods. With aura sense, she saw the danger that lingered behind the trees.

More insects ran out of the woods and attacked the Murus. Flida pulled out her dagger. Her wolf stood up with his heckles lifted.

“Relax.” Marina stood up from her chair and stretched. “Drac didn't bring us along for the jokes,” said Marina while she equipped her chest armour, greaves, and vambraces.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

With her armour fastened, she left through the caravan door. A large man awaited her. He looked at her armour.

“Yes, I took your advice. Happy now.”

The large man grunted. He took out his large greatsword and grasped his giant shield from behind. He said a short prayer to himself, and the man glowed amber. The light shines on the minions, and they screech as their skin burns. Marina lifted both arms and opened her hands. From the murus grew blue spikes that skewered the insects. The large man coated his blade and shield in an amber aura.

“Kill them all!!”

“Yes, Marina!!” Bob roared, trudging forward. Marina engulfed dozens of minions in a hot flame, smiling wide.

I think I am in love.

You have strange tastes, caveman. But I will have to admit that she is strong…

Yes, she is…

Drac glanced at Marina from afar, watching her dance with flames and incinerate any creature who came close. She wore the armour he gifted her. Hypnotised by her beauty, he almost forgot he was holding the demon's fist back with his left hand. Aura flowed around his arm as if covered in a white flame. He condensed it and gripped the demon’s fist, cracking the exoskeleton. It screamed in pain and pulled back its arm. The buzzing grew louder. The fly flew around at speeds beyond what normal humans could see. The demon struck from behind. Drac bent forward and kicked the demon’s stomach. Its abdominal armour cracked and bled. Spinning from the kick, it regained its posture in the air.

Drac appeared high next to him and hammered down on the insect’s spiky head. It crashed to the ground. Drac followed him and fell with Ventus and Ignis. The bug evaded Drac with a roll and flew away. Drac landed, and the grass and soil exploded. It attacked again. Right straight countered with the same. The bug’s nose broke. It threw a left straight. Drac leaned his head to the right and uppercut the demon's chin. Green blood splurted from cracks in the chin. A right kick was intercepted from the knee with Drac’s left foot. It snapped, and with the same left leg, Drac struck the body with a pulse. The demon's exoskeleton shattered, and blood gushed out.

Aim for the head.

Drac stepped in and threw a large right punch to the demon's temple. A cone of aura shot out of the man in black’s fist. His energy flew hundreds of metres forward, pushing away air. A headless body collapsed to the ground.

How was my aura point, Axton?

Mmm, it could be better, but your progress is fantastic. You learn so fast.

It's best to destroy the body too. The book said they may hide the soul in the bodies.

Do they usually bleed green? I hope not.

Drac tuned Ignis and turned the leftover copse into ash.

The ground shook and rumbled.

Flida rode on her black wolf. They ran with swiftness towards Drac. She looked frightened.

“Drac, underground!!!"

Drac sensed the danger too late.

The ground gave way under him. Enormous pincers open to grab him.
