Runes on the mage's staff radiate softly. The air swelled, then crystallised into several shards of ice. From base to tip, shards longer than a rifle point at Drac. A wave of the mage's staff and shard went flying with supersonic speed. With arms stretched out, Drac created a barrier of blue in front. Ice clashed with Murus and the wall of aura shattered in pieces.
Drac! Move!
Drac leaned to the left as the shard scraped along his cheek, cutting through his mask. The floor exploded behind him and a shard stuck out of the broken stone.
If I…
Yep. Dead. So Move.
Drac jumped to the left to avoid another shard. Pulsing off his hand, he flipped away from a third. Drac made a quick calculation and pulsed in close. The mage smiled, creating more ice to be thrown. Three were shot at the same time. Drac pulsed-stepped to the right, moving clear of the shard, ready to pulse closer to his target.
Ice shards paused into the air, turning around to home at Drac.
Fucks sake.
At least we practiced.

With Heilong sheathed, a great flame shot out of Drac’s Ignis-tuned hand, scorching the shards after him. Aura sense reacts to two more shards coming from the right. Both of Drac’s gloved hands burn with orange fire and the shards melt into puddles. Still tuned with Ingis and light with Levitation, he blasted off. Ventus weaved him through three more shards as he pressed forward with insane speed. Drac unsheathed his rune-engraved, burning blade for a slash when needles of ice fell like rain.
Axton pulsed Drac back and attacked back with a crescent wave of aura while evading the rain off the ice. Drac's aura hit a Murus barrier, breaking it to reveal a pissed-off mage.
Thank you. You saved me.
Not yet.
The mage held an empty hand out, and dozens of balls of fire shot off, aiming at the intruder.
Do your thing. I will help.
Axton coated Heilong with bright white energy. Stance orthodox, Axton concentrated. Eye full of energy, he can see the motion of the fireballs and their trajectory. He studied them, choosing which one to slice first.
Within the mind, Drac focused on a tree. His palm rested on it.
Just like Hood. Like Elkan.
Axton’s blade hummed a different vibration he wasn't used to.
So this is tuning.
Ventus collected the air around his blade.
Spheres of searing fire swarm inward.
Axton’s arm faded into nothing. A huge gust of wind blew across the cave floor. Light as a feather, Axton pulsed in again, running past the severed fireballs. Sword flaring bright with aura, Axton slashed from his left side, ripping through Murus, skin, and bone. Bloody glistened in the cool light of the crystal above. Axton exhaled with a wide, proud, toothy grin.
The mage's body flopped to the floor in two and a huffing Drac took over.
“We needed him…alive.”
Sorry. Haha, I got too into it.
