Hendrix didn't say anything further, but as they passed a dessert shop, he suddenly pulled over. Noelle had an idea of what he was planning and didn't stop him at first. However, when he handed her the cake, she said, "I'm not eating it."
"Just have a little," Hendrix insisted. "Doesn't it look delicious to you?"
Noelle glanced down at the beautifully crafted cake and suddenly smiled. "Alright. I'll eat it if you eat it first."
Hendrix narrowed his eyes.
But Noelle smiled back at him sweetly. She knew perfectly well that Hendrix absolutely loathed sweets. He barely tolerated plain milk on a good day, let alone dessert.
The moment she said it, she knew he'd never actually eat it so she was about to push the cake back toward him. when Hendrix suddenly said, "Alright. I'll eat it if you feed me."
Noelle was stunned by his unexpected reply.
Taking advantage of her brief pause, Hendrix quickly placed the cake in her hand. He then started the car and said with righteous certainty, "I'm driving, so it's not convenient for me to feed myself."noveldrama
Noelle hadn't intended to humor him-after all, their exchange just now felt as childish as two kids haggling over a deal. But at that moment, she suddenly had a strong urge to exact revenge on him.
So, she nodded without hesitation. "Okay."
Hendrix had bought a two-layer mango-flavored cake topped with a generous layer of cream. After unwrapping
dbought a two- the utensils, Noelle scooped a large bite and held it up to Hendrix during a red light. "Here. Eat it"
Hendrix glanced at the oversized spoonful and couldn't help but laugh. "Are you trying to murder me by choking me to death?"
"It just looks big. Once it's in, it'll be fine."
Having grown up under a stricf upbringing, table manners were second nature to Hendrix. He always ate with meticulous elegance-Noelle had even seen him eat barbecue as if it were a five-figure gourinet steak
So, forcing him to stuff such a huge bite of cake into his month was, without a doubt, pushing his limits. Seeing that the red light was about to turn green and he still hadn't moved, Noelle started to pull her hand back. But in the next moment, Hendrix suddenly grabbed her hand and, without hesitation, leaned forward to take the entire bite of cake she had offered.
Noelle was momentarily stunned. Curious, she leaned closer, trying to see how he managed to swallow it all, but Hendrix abruptly covered her eyes with his hand.
"What are you doing?" Noelle asked with a frown.
But by the time she succeeded in pulling his hand down, he had already finished the cake. A faint smear of cream lingered at the corner of his lips, and his hands were already back on the steering wheel. "Alright. Your turn," he said.
Noelle remained frozen in place. Just as Hendrix was about to ask if she was planning to go back on her word, she suddenly let out a soft laugh.
That laugh caught Hendrix off guard. At first, he thought he might have misheard, but when he turned his head, he saw Noelle holding the cake, her shoulders gently shaking with laughter.
It had been a long time since he'd seen her laugh like this. So long, in fact, that he found himself dazed
for al moment. It wasn't until a few seconds later that he remembered he was still driving. Without thinking, he pulled over to the side of the road.
"Hendrix, don't tell me you have some kind of imaginary obsession
Before she could finish, Hendrix unfastened his seatbelt, leaned over, and kissed her on the lips.
