Sarey's question was heard by no one. The ball of fire panicked more as the sudden appearance of someone else turned out to be an obstacle, in its life. As it turned around on the spot, it made circles around Allan's chest, but didn't know what to do.
The person kept following behind it.
“What? I won't hurt you.” She said in the hope of calming this cute being down. It kind of resembled an injured animal or baby who got into an accident or was born that knows nothing. That, or something a little clueless, without the ability to protect itself. Though, there is plenty of protection that was this soul-fire.
But, it was to no avail to calm down. Ball acted as if the world fell apart, not knowing what to do or where to go. Did it know where it was? Who it was? What sort of place this was? It could remember a place of dark, yet somewhat comfortable place. It wanted back instead of this place, and that figure.
This was a terrifying experience because the intriguing feeling of going outside fell on its mind. It never intended to follow this mistake ever again.
“It looks frightening. Is it because of me?” Sarey wondered.
It was a case that she couldn't understand, so she decided to back her hands away. Putting them above her head as a sign that she meant no harm. Adding a few steps from its position, she could see a minor difference in its acts. It stopped running the circles. Turning around as if watching where it was.
There was no sign of eyes, but it looked like it knew what to look at. It was basic posture and the acts it did to make Sarey consider it was the case.
Feeling no one around, it finally stopped its shocked appearance in its mouth. It curved inwards, getting smaller until it resembled a more normal mouth.
Wavy flames around it never stopped, though. The ball of fire watched where it was, and even its surroundings, which piqued its interest. It was another new place, what it had never seen before. It did not know if it was a bad or good place to be. In all this time, it never once left its guard down against Sarey which backed even further.
“C-calm down, will you? I mean no harm, friend.” She called in a sweet tone.
Ball, as if baffled by the tone of voice of this being, backed off like her a moment ago. Tumbling backward to Allan's face, it panicked as if something struck it.
It got up in no time, but it was panicking once more.
“W-what sort of being is that? It acts so strange. W-wait a second. This! S-soul fire? Ball of fire? It resembled the description I heard Allan say when he discussed it with 36, but only a little. That one, from before looked very similar to a singular flaming ball.”
Sarey finally gets two things together. She still did not put her guard away, but knowing what was in front of her was still better than not knowing anything. She watched her surroundings and noticed cracks and melting things around her. The temperature was rising since the ball of fire got here. Although it was more or less sustained around its proximity. After all, the source of the heat is the strongest in the core.
“Allan had it all along? What sort of thing it is? It looks so cute though...”
The ball calmed down a bit, as there was nothing that was dangerous around it. Instead, it examined the face it fell into or Sarey which stood like a towering giant not so far away.
It was aware of its own panic, but there was no stopping it. Only with great determination and bravery did the panic attack stop, and the ball of fire sat down on Allan's forehead.
It observed the remains of the bandages, which were burned already around Allan's head. Only ashes were left of it, but it still obscured the full appearance of the being below.
Gesturing with its hand towards the ashes, even they faded away from the close proximity to its body. It walked fine on Allan's skin, and it could even be called a strange sensation. A small amount of heat was emanating from the being beneath it. It resembled a call of home and caused it to tremble in a strange manner.
Watching Allan's face as it knelt down with both hands on the skin, as well. It was a position of grief, yet no pain or sadness could be visible. Only a vaster amount of flames emerged from the tip of its head. Emotions were the cause.
“Oh no! It. It has feelings for Allan?” such a spectacle shocked Sarey.
It looked almost like a depiction of a crying puppy over the dead parent, but it was hard to say if it was feeling sad for itself or Allan.
Minutes passed, and it caused more damage to the surroundings. Metals, wood, and all sorts of things Allan kept in his forge were getting destroyed. If he knew it, there was no way he would be calm about it.
Alas, the ball on his forehead stood up at last. There was no need to grieve or panic any longer. With brightness and different feelings in its head, it understood something more... profound about its fate. Standing there straight and unmoving, the ball of fire walked back towards Allan's chest.
Steady, as if it was taking a stroll in a garden or something.
Glancing at Sarey with a calm expression this time. It melted into his chest while it wondered if that voice was the one he heard or not. It was somewhat pleasing and terrifying at the same time.
Though, the call of the home, and something else, had to be done for its new fate. It knew that a certain rule... or purpose was shifted from it. It felt... expectant of it.
Sarey couldn't help but remain silent. Even if she wanted to say something, there was no way she would be able to talk some sense to this strange being. The flaming ball disappeared completely into Allan's chest, under her eyes.
Only after a long time did Sarey reclaim her emotions. She felt like the things which occurred in front of her were surreal. Was it her, or was she mad or sick? She tried to touch her face and noticed the hair still wrapped around her arms. However, with the heat retreating, so did the hair in its own violation.
“Oh! A-Allan?” She spontaneously shouted and jumped at his side. Checking his breath, pulse, and temperature, she was touching him without politeness. Only with enough time did she calm down, but her breath has not fine in the slightest.
“I can't breathe...”
Sarey glanced at the last around her. The heat she felt was no longer present. but the hair was no longer around herself. The residual heat made a heavy feeling in her chest, which causes her breath to become haggard. Only after a couple of minutes, did it return to a bearable level.
“What a disaster. Is it what a soul-fire can do? Wait... why am I even thinking about this... Allan?!” She shouted and was almost ready to slap him across his face.
“Huh? What is it?” All of a sudden, Allan asked with little concern as he was touching his face.
“T-this?! You... are you not aware of what happened here?” Sarey stuttered as she found him completely oblivious to anything.
“What do you mean? Has the 1 hour already passed? It is still too early. Don't you think so?”
“W-what?” Sarey once again muttered that word. One hour had already passed when she came inside. Not speaking about the time she spent here, Allan was out of touch with his time.
“What were you doing here?” She changed the form of the question while figuring out the course of this mess. It would be hard to get the message across his mind otherwise. As much as she tried to wrap her mind around the soul-fire inside of his body, she felt like this wasn't as simple as that.
“Breathing exercise. I tried my best to recall everything that my father said to me about it. I was trying it right now until the next stage of training.” Allan answered as he took a seated position on the ground.
Although his answer was little to her worries. Sarey no longer stirred unnecessary dramas. In this weird situation, she would bury it deep in her heart. Reason? It seemed completely ridiculous. A small ball of fire appeared from Allan and caused havoc in his forge. Could be that... or she was delirious? She wasn't sure.
“Oh, lots of things are destroyed in the forgery. I guess I may as well tell him...” she decided in her mind, since concealing this mess is a bad idea of hers.
“Ugh. Ouch.” Allan clutched his chest.
“A-are you alright?” Sarrey forced her hand around his bare chest. In all this time any clothes on him were long gone. It was questionable, why Allan did not question it at first.
“Yes. It was only some minor stretching problem from earlier.” Allan lied, as he felt the continuous pressure within his chest. It accompanied a bit of pain and heat that felt too comforting... and too fierce.
“Stretching?” Sarey couldn't believe that.
“Hmmm. What is this smell? Did something happen? Why am I naked?” He asked as he smelled something strange and at last, a bit of sense entered his mind.
Sarey was unsure about what she could say to him at this moment. Grabbing a leather attire for forging that survived the heat by some miracle, it at least covered him well. Although it all seemed normal as if nothing weird happened to him, Alan was unaware of his surroundings.
“A-another episode of yours... The heat. Something strange is going on in your body.” She found some reason for the truth.
“Heat?” Allan wondered. There was perhaps something truly strange about it, but he found it... peculiar. He is aware of the heating up when doing exercises, and since his physical senses got so high, he assumed it to be the case with that sort of heat as well. At least nothing dangerous was into it so far.
His first episode was something shocking to him and that is a fact because it hurt and pained his lungs. It was unexpected to him, but he calmed down afterward. Allan did not know what it was back then, and since Sarey said it right now, it may as well be something strange.
Now. He felt nothing like last time. The lingering smell of charred wood and stuff around him made him sure that this was anything but normal.
“I am sorry. I can't tell if there is something strange right now. How much time passed? It felt like a moment ago when I went here.” Allan said in an apologetic tone while counting on... and deciding by his hunch.
Seeing his sorry state, Sarey calmed down at last.
“You scared me. It is more than an hour since you walked here. You were sitting here with weird heat coming through your body. I barely got hold of you.”
Allan, upon hearing this, tried to check his body. There was nothing that could help him identify the problem.
“Wait, is this something that is problematic? I never felt these sensations around the smithy. The feelings of the heat of the furnace, as well as the acupoint treatments Sarey gave me. It all shares this small, comfortable feeling. It could be connected to this.” He wondered for himself in his mind.
“T-there was... also something else... I don't know if I was seeing things or not... it was like an indistinct pearl of flames. It formed from your body.” Sarey muttered as she tried to find the right words to describe it to her best abilities.
“Flame? From me?” Allan asked in shock. He couldn't understand it either. Pearl? The round object made of flames. It revolved through his head until he cried out with a sudden idea and a possibility. A rather unlikely one, at that.
“No way! W-what? Describe it to me. What was its appearance?” To say he found her words shocking was more than an understatement.
Sarey told him what had occurred. Leaving herself out of the picture, of course. Her own strangeness went out of her mind, as her hair... is her own problem.
“S-soul-fire? What sort of thing happened? Was it not inside the emblem father left me? If there were two emblems, what does this mean? He didn't leave it for himself, nor myself, and then... it is inside of me? It makes little sense to me at all.”
“It...it lives inside...of me?” Allan mumbled in shock.
Sarey remained silent from this sudden development. She was shocked as Allan. Both of them knew what this meant, although only Allan knew a bit more.
“I don't know. If you feel alright, it could be nothing dangerous, but also the potential for problems are possible.” Sarey said after finishing her descriptions.
There was not a whole reason to be worried, but they knew nothing about what this indicated. Not even 36 would know it. It all circled around the mysteries of the soul-fire, which, for some reason or another, ended within Allan's body.
“I don't know what to think of this. This doesn't make any sense.” Allan felt more and more upset about it. He tried to think, but alas, there was nothing else than guessing.
“Calm down, let this be a reminder. You will think of something with 36. For now, let's clean this mess here. I am hopeful it did not damage the building itself.”
“B-building?”
“This little flame of yours was countless times stronger than the furnace! It melts the iron away, and scorched every wood in its proximity.” She argued while forgetting that she did not explain the damages to him.
