Chapter 106: Solution, the dark, and possibility

Allan wondered about the use of this stuff below his feet, but that didn't stop his hand from moving. Instead, it slowed his pace and he had to adjust his body so it could move a hand to hand with this constant shift of weight.

A few minutes later, he had already reached the 25th meter and could do more if he pushed himself further. That was quite a decent pace for a beginner, but that did not feel great to him. The further he went, the more pressure he could tell. It went from his own anxiety and the weight around his waist.

Normal people would feel the same way, but they would feel less safe than Allan. The sight from such a distance would cause a lot of people to be afraid.

It was fortunate that Allan had no panic in his heart about the distances. He may as well guess he was already halfway through the wall, and he could feel correct about it. Though, he rather paid more attention to his body and followed the placement of hands and feet around him.

Calculating the time and crevices in his mind, he remembered the path for future references.

All of a sudden, a gust of wind pushed the weights to his right side. They Hit the rocks and scattered around as they flew from right to left and so on. The gravity and the wind made it all this way, which was that much crazier, considering Allan's feelings.

With such momentum and wind, it would take a long time before it would stop this movement. Furthermore, Allan felt it much more than he was willing to admit. Any steps and meters above were a challenge with these weights, which acted as a spore for his silent curses.

“Dammit... it's another problem after the other. It would be enough since this surface isn't all that nice for the bloody rock climbing!”

Yet, as he complains, the meters still passed even with his struggle. The 30th-meter mark was already in front of him.

Although, this number was unknown to Allan, who was climbing for the sake of it at the moment.

Sarey was left in visible worry right now. She could still manage to fling the rope up if she tried her best right now. 30 meters was about her limit if she would make her best attempt, but she forgot she no longer needed to worry about it.

“Right... I forgot I gave him the second rope. I hope it's a 30-meter one, but I am unsure.”

Her nervousness got hold of her as he went beyond that mark. Clenching her fist, Allan's safety was still the most important thing for her. Even if the Little Fire would intervene or not, she did not even consider it.

She found the 3rd rope she prepared here a long ago and began to swing it around herself. In a bit, the speed intensified, and with the rock in one end, Sarey threw it across her head above.

“Get down. You've had enough.” She shouted from afar but was unsure if Allan would hear her at all.

Allan heard her a little now since he calmed down from the previous try. Although it left a sour taste in his mouth to stop his ascent.

“What is this time? I can't hear her words properly. Has something happened?” He asked himself, without getting answers for obvious reasons. “ How Am I supposed to progress if I will continue like this? I can still go on If I have to! Even if it will take months.”

He heard a sharp noise a few meters below him as the pebble around the rope hit the wall. As Sarey expected, she failed this swing, but it Allan noticed it and stopped climbing. At least, he was glad to not be hit in his head the same as before. Unknown to him, this was a bigger rock around the rope.

Back on the ground after Allan's safe descent. The rope had barely enough length from Allan's position.

Allan fell to his knees with the blessing of the soil beneath his hands. He felt it with his feet and hands as if it was the most precious thing in the world.

“What? Are you that glad to be on the ground?” Sarey asked with a bit of mockery in her voice.

“Yes. This is very difficult. You should try it yourself.”

“Perhaps I will do it one day. At least I won't have to worry about whatever training and can marvel at the sight from above. Unlike the previous part of the training, this one seems decent to me.”

“You serious? What do you know? Have you ever thought about the retreat from above? The heights to reach upwards of 100 meters? I doubt you can make the rock fly that high.”

“Heheheh. No need to worry about it, Allan. I already thought of it as we speak. I will make you carry a folded rope on your back, which will be about 30 meters long. Whenever you will reach the point of 30 meters, you will secure it on the spot and descent from one point of interest away from the other. Isn't it a great idea?”

“Great idea. Another massive weight on my shoulders. 200 meters of the rope is no small amount, you know?”

“It isn't, but you will secure it as you wish, and 30 meters isn't so bad. Also, you can leave the ropes hanging there, and once rested, you can return to your position but them. How about it?” Sarey kept arguing, which leaves Allan doubtful of her reasoning.

“Whatever. I thought this training was about reaching the summit in one try. What's up with this rope and whatever? I can go longer If I have to reach the summit.”

“The rope is for practical learning. I figured it would be better suited to your needs. I've seen you struggle quite a bit when you started, but it does seem you can keep going. What about that weight? It's pulling your body around, does it not?”

“Yeah. Right. It is quite harder than it looks. My center of gravity is being twisted with each gust of wind and my stability is in shambles because of such a damn lightweight.” Allan complained as he felt quite right to do so.

“Then it all goes according to 36 opinions,” Sarey added, much to her experience and knowledge.

“Opinion? Ohh. Tell me, what in the world is this about? Are you leaving something important from my eyes again?” Allan asked in curiosity. He wasn't that bothered about knowing or not knowing, but he had a hunch about it himself.

“It is about your so-called core. Although it is a made-up metaphor when used in this context. 36 described this training to nurture and strengthen the possibility of getting that energy in order. Again... he is rather hypocritical with this... but this training has other uses apart from that strange core. He explains that it is dormant in all beings but doesn't seem to be related to the Spark at all. 36 discover some ways to focus more on this with this training, which is even part of the Unmoving technique.”

“So another messy-guess work of words. I doubt I have any better choices at the moment, so there is no point in arguing about it. Thank you for at least telling me about it, even though 36 is a lunatic... I swear...”

Allan sights got his small confirmation of the underlying truth while figuring that core was not important. 36 said so himself, so why did Sarey read about it in this context?

“Well.. he is hypocritical about it, but I am curious about this core of his research. You don't?” Sarey asked.

“Yea, I wouldn't if I would say otherwise,” Allan answered, without any other choice but to say so.

Although the fundamental truth is a bit away. 36 thought this energy was something more mysterious than Spark itself, and even his research made it quite obvious. Yet, he had no way to guess anything, but complex calculation and brief mentions of it in the Diary of the Body.

It left him with few choices of context, while he had to figure out the methods of finding it. That meant the context of the previous finds had to be intersected with new ones. That leads to a never-ending flow of research he put himself into for months.

In truth, 36 did not find everything to be certain about any chances. He was gambling his way with Allan, being his chance. Be it for his curiosity, or lack of it, he believed what he found was very important. At least according to everything that he had ever known as an Immortal cultivator.

He was always unsure if that energy can be accessed or not. Any means to do so would be of utmost discovery. At least,t with potential failures, Allan would end up with a better experience in the training.

The human body was a magical marvel, which a lot of beings of the distant stars admired. Non-human or beastly beings were sometimes envious of them, as they should. They were in all essences, quite near perfect for cultivation. The potential and the universal ways the human body worked were a work of marvels.

The rules of humans have a longer history than anyone would think. Even though humans weren't alone in the universe. They were a fraction of all beings, but they were always stronger in the grander scheme of the universe.

After all, human aggression was ever-changing, and their greed was as well. Ruling the worlds and pulling their weights around as if the universe was theirs led to many fates and changes. Rules could hardly make a difference in the case of the Lords.

Beings who had the power to change the structure of the planets and make a change in the universe were some of the most mind-boggling beings in the universe. Human or not, that was always the fact.

A small example of the anger between humans and other beings led to many conflicts. One was the so-called promise, which was briefly called by the beasts of the Heavenly List countless ages ago. It went without saying that worries of the whole species weren't something that mortals could comprehend. The same could be said about the red orb that suffered the attack of the tremendous strength of the power beyond its own.

Such otherworldly plays are not for the taste of mortals. Allan had other worries, while many would follow later. Whether he liked it or not. He leaned against the wall that was his enemy not so long ago. He could tell the accumulated stress on his joints, as well as his fingers. Grip, stamina, and knowing what the hell one was doing was the reason for his worries.

This second try made many things clear to him. Even though Allan had a rather pessimistic overview of his improvement, he did not feel good about the results.

Sarey told him about the 33-meter mark, which he roughly guessed according to her looking.

So, he decided to stop with this climbing method and changed his mind to return to the rock smashing. Whether that was for calming himself or not, he wasn't afraid of the wall at all. Only a little, since he preferred the robust ground below his feet. It was quite simple as that.

It led to a disappointed look in Sarey, who knew she had to treat him today with such a disposition. To her displeasure, it was better than worrying about this climbing that was rather hard on him.

Unknown to them, 36 would find Allan's progress to be quite good. His perception of it would be very different from theirs, and especially Sarey's.

Time was the source of everything and 36 became very anxious about it, since being given this chance to live. Allan was too harsh and too rushed towards the destination. He did not even know or understand it all that much, and 36 was not the least bit different from his rushing mindset.

All Allan needed was to accumulate the experience and get shit done. That was at least something 36 would say which would come from the bottom of his heart.

All this climbing was about the potential of Allan's body. Whether the core of that energy would get strengthened or not, didn't matter. This training itself would assure a slow burning flow of getting stronger. That was the reason for 36, who forgot about some other things about this training but couldn't really care about them.

Like the balanced perspective, grip, strength, flexibility, and so on.

Those were the things that were great for the Body forging, and the Unmoving technique.

Through the research 36 performed for long months, the progress Allan made with exercises also surprised him. He went rather hard with numbers back then, and Allan finished them all.

So, he wasn't worried about increasing the notch in the second and third parts of the training at all. They were all very different from each other, so he was already looking forward to Allan doing them.

For this part of training, destroying a piece of rock would always be difficult for any mortals. That was a fact, but with the right technique and stubborn nature, it could be done.

Climbing training was about stability and flexibility, which Allan lacked. The chance for that small speck of energy came secondary.

To his knowledge, 36 figured out many things that were described very little in the Diary of the Body. It was written and described in such a way that it could be unnoticeable by anyone else. Of course, it wouldn't go unnoticed by 36, who was already mad in research regarding the Diary of the Body. He would no longer care about any other kind of technique.

He gathered a vast amount of data and information, and they would flow into one mind. Some of them were redundant and useless information that would be thrown away. That was the same across many kinds of immortal techniques since they always ended in a complex format. With redundancies and so on, tossing them away would cause one to focus on what was important.

This was very important, since the involvement of the teachers in the Diary of the Body. Many of the teachers were already long beyond their savings. Most would follow through the pathway they were familiar with, at least somewhat. 36 ways of doing things were rather special and strange, but they all worked well in a relative sense of words.

His secret discovery and reaps of his research revolved around an object of moderate value in the mortal world. He never told anyone about it so far, as the problems with it made it difficult to finish.

It could be made from common materials and would be worth the effort, but it failed. His research failed with the impossible solution to solve it. All of that was for the sake of Pill, which could embody that small speck of energy and make it rise to the surface. It would be like a guide. A small speck of something that would make the vortex appear.

Unfortunately, the way for it to occur, 36 spend weeks pondering about it. He lacked any help or solution whatsoever. Only recently, he came up with something, but it had to wait longer.

That was the Wisher's involvement and rewards for Allan's advancement.

At first, he found it rather strange that the problems can be solved. And he was right about it since it also made things very complicated afterward.

36 considered the fundamentals of that energy, which was barely mentioned in the Diary of the Body. That pill that could be conducted would be of the utmost treasure. Its effects would be effective in circling that energy.

One could even feel it within oneself and reach the semi-Spark. Although it had a long way from the real deal, it could be considered a deadly potential in Allan's current state.

After all, Allan's future will have to go according to The One's made-up conditions. There was not a specific set for each of the students. No. In truth, it was a very casual topic. The One's try is like a mortal school where kids go through a year of some subjects. The end of the year would end with examinations.

Simple as that, and it was a mortal way of doing things, but it had a certain simplicity that made it clever. That was at least what The Ones anticipated when they made powerful immortal figures for their prisoners. Forcing them to act according to this mess was, of course, another thing. 36 was more than aware of how utterly fucked this whole situation seemed from an inside perspective.

The problem with his research was that the pill itself needed to be conducted and immediately consumed upon its creation.

That in itself was problematic. The condition of conducting had to be done in a mortal world.

Sarey and Allan had to do it, and that was about it. That was a simple reason to call it a failure, but a hopeful failure at least. Though, 36 realized another problem, which made it even more impossible to do.

Any pill-making had to have a furnace. Not like the one Allan used for forging. These were smaller, compact, and usually very distinct. They weren't something mortal in most cases, and if found, they would be expensive. Extremely expensive while being hard to find in mortal worlds.

The last piece of a bummer was that the pill maker had to be an energy user.

36 fell quite speechless by this disappointment, and it caused many cries and curses to fly into the void. He had no way to make that pill unless he had a way to conduct it himself. Someone familiar with the pill conducting should make this level of the pill. He has some form of experience, but only a little.

This was irrelevant if he won't find an option to conduct it, which he, in fact, lacked.

In all this time, after his discoveries months ago, he was unable to come up with something. So 36 decided to ask The Wisher when he will show up again.

Until then, all he could do was endure this significant possibility and chance for Allan to bypass the threshold of Immortality.

All for the sake of having the heavenly energy vortex and using the energy itself.
