Chapter 59: Origins

Chapter 59: Origins

This is a very important opportunity that I can’t let go to waste.

Kyte contemplated the three options. If he created a space within himself, like the storage necklace, he would just add more space which he already had. However, the Origin Point was a level higher than the storage necklace’s space. He didn’t know what the space would allow inside it.

Considering it’s a higher level, it could potentially have the capability to store living things on top of inanimate objects. Not only that, but it could also give Kyte other abilities as well. For example, it could give him the ability to use the spatial energy within it to teleport anywhere the energy is spread or even teleport himself inside it. However, since the laws of time were not within the Origin Point, he wouldn’t be able to accelerate or decelerate time. If the Origin Point did have the laws of time, he could have the ability to go within its own personal space and manipulate time, allowing him to train for a hundred years when only one year passes in reality.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Considering that the laws of time weren’t there means that it wasn’t a legit Origin Point. Kyte doesn’t really know what a legit one would be like but he definitely had the feeling that there were missing components. This is also why Kyte felt a bit hesitant to use it. If he could somehow acquire the missing elements and create a complete Origin Point, how much more powerful would that be?

Adding the laws of time would grant him even more control over the overall laws of spacetime. Of course, the method that would allow him to do such a thing are currently beyond him. He doesn’t even understand anything concrete about the spatial laws in his own universe, so trying to access an even broader range of difficulty was too much.

The laws of time weren’t the only components. There’s also the mystery of matter and energy. Spacetime can be considered a type of energy but it needs a driving force to get started. It needs something to govern or give purpose to. Kyte has no clue how to obtain matter but he does have an idea about energy.

It was quite simple, really. Since black light can be transformed into different types of energy, Kyte thought he would be able to create different laws pertaining to each energy. So, instead of an all-encompassing energy, there would be several different energies and laws. For example, the laws of fire, water, earth, etc. Kyte didn’t know whether that would decrease the overall power, increase it, or change nothing at all.

So now he had two factors out of the four figured out. Granted, the space laws were practically given to him. Anyway, all he needed now was a way to integrate the laws of time and matter into the Origin Point. Kyte also had no idea just how much more power the Origin Point would receive by merging with the other components. Maybe it wouldn’t increase at all or maybe it would increase beyond Kyte’s control.

This was a very serious and important object. It had the potential to change Kyte into a master of space and time or something more. All he needed was time, something that he didn’t have a lot of. He also wanted to study the process of how such a thing had formed in the first place. He guessed it was all connected with the black light and the cloud figure. However, he had a sneaking feeling that the cloud figure was the perpetrator of everything.

I won’t merge the Origin Point with anything right now. The temptation is quite strong, but I know I shouldn’t. The potential a future Origin Point has is far greater than this one. I shouldn’t even call this Origin Point. For the time being I’ll call it Space Origin. That’s practically what it is, anyway. There are too many things for me to worry about. Right now I should be heading to the Core.

Kyte opened his eyes just to see rays of sunlight piercing through the tree line. The surroundings were illuminated by the bright glow of light that signified morning. A cool, soft breeze brushed across the forest floor. It was a relief to wake up to fresh air entering your lungs instead of a hot and humid air. Adding on to that were the rays of light that spread throughout the area which were much better than a gloomy, mist-filled atmosphere.

Kyte didn’t feel as though waking up to see time had passed was abnormal. It had happened quite a few times before so he was used to seeing a change of light. Whenever he was deep into his research or enlightenments, time would always seem to pass by too quickly.

He stood up and walked closer to the group before waking them up by shouting at them. They all awoke with confused or frightened expressions that quickly changed to understanding when they noticed Kyte.

“It’s finally morning. I’ll start flying in a few minutes so hurry up and gather your things.” Kyte said.

They all immediately stood up and began to put together their items before awaiting Kyte’s call. Meanwhile, Kyte gathered the three A rankers.

“Did you three get some sleep?” Kyte asked.

“Yes, I managed to get some in.” Laken said.

“The earth beds aren’t exactly the best, but they’re fine for now.” Gaister stated with a slightly annoyed tone.

“I slept like a rock. I don’t know about you two but I like my sleep.” Syrus added.

Kyte looked at the three before saying:

“Good. From now on, try not to be so formal around me. It’s fine when lower ranks are within the vicinity, however, if we’re alone like this then it doesn’t matter.”

The three were slightly confused at his words but they quickly replied with their understandings. They were a little excited about getting closer to an S ranker; plus, they wouldn’t dare object in the first place. They knew now that they would carry out Kyte’s every command. Following a powerful S ranker yields a large amount of benefits so they immediately decided to do so.

After everyone was ready, Kyte spread his energy around them and lifted off above the trees. He followed the track because there was no way he would be able to fly across the incredibly large distance, even by himself. Plus, the track acted as a safe zone most of the time so it was naturally the better choice. Also, Kyte didn’t plan on exhausting himself every single time he flies so after about two miles he would land and rest. It didn’t take long for him to recover his energy; this was mostly due to the fact that his soul had reached the eighth stage.

While he was flying he noticed his energy had lasted longer than before. He immediately checked and discovered that his soul had risen from the high seventh stage to the eighth stage. He didn’t notice any significant differences but his energy’s quality had definitely increased. His Spirit energy’s range increased by a full two miles as well. It may not seem like much at first, compared to the enormous size of the cities and continent itself, but every increase counts. Besides, the quality also increases its effectiveness and ease of control.

After several hours of traveling and resting, Kyte decided to stop for the day. They had covered a significant amount of ground by the time they had stopped, though they still had a few more days according to Kyte’s calculation. During the night Kyte once again stared up into the clear sky to observe space. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to enter that special mental state, however, he did lay out plans for the Space Origin. He decided to he would start the next time they stopped to rest for the night.

-The Next Night-

Everything was the same as the day before. They traveled, rested, and traveled some more. They crept ever closer to the edge of the forest and Kyte began to see small signs of memory unsealings in the other Gifted. Fortunately none of them went into the complete unsealing, though it was quite evident that their confusion stemmed from their missing memories.

Kyte decided to ignore that for the night. He would deal with it just like he did before. If any of them failed, he would bind and use them as experiments. Considering that the one's who failed are unable to return to sanity, rendering them non-humans within Kyte's terms, they would be used for other experiments. What these other experiments would be, well, Kyte would figure it out.

One thing he already wanted to test was the effects of space distortion within the black domain. He would trap one of the subjects inside the domain and manipulate the space around it to see what would happen. Unfortunately the only manipulation Kyte was capable of using was distortion which could redirect or block attacks. However, if those distortion happened inside the body of a subject, what would happen then? There's many things Kyte wants to experiment on but the one thing he was interested in the most was the Space Origin.

That night, he decided to begin trying to separate the black light into individual energies. The first element he tested was fire, mostly because he was most familiar with that energy. He transformed black light into a fire ball above his palm and closely observed it. He furrowed his brows in confusion before extinguishing the fireball. He moved around and grabbed some sticks from the branches nearby to create a normal fire. Because of his power, it was simple to do so. Also, he used only his physical power just in case Internal energy created another variable he would have to deal with.

After completing the elementary fire, Kyte once again transformed black light into fire on his palm. He intensely focused on comparing the two to try to discover any differentiating constituents. If he detected a difference in the two fires, then the experiment would be a success and he would be able to go from there. However,  if there wasn't, he would be back at square one.

Unfortunately, there was no difference. It was a sort of petty wish to assume their would be such a difference between two fires that can be transformed into the same type of energy. Kyte lightly sighed before extinguishing both fires. He moved back to his original position and created another fire, this time a bit larger than before.

He changed the fire to water, then to dirt, then lightning, then back to fire.

What makes me capable of changing fire to water, or water to dirt? What's the component that allows me to transformed dirt into lightning? There's something I'm missing. I just can't think of it to change it. I have to understand the element and its properties to create it. I just can't create a blob of plasma all will-nilly. I've never seen plasma before...oh wait, lightning is actually a form of plasma. There's many different forms of plasma. Usually, the denser plasma becomes the higher the temperature. But how would I increase the temperature?

Well, I'm not trying to create a star here, so that's out of the question for now. I wish I could remember everything I read about plasma. My soul gives me a better memory but I'm not at the point to which I am capable of remembering every detail in my entire life. The only thing I can remember about plasma is that it's everywhere in the universe. Stars, black holes, lightning, auras, and other things. The only difference is how it was made, the density, and temperature.

I think I'm beginning to understand. How is it created? What's the origin of its creation?...Wait, origin? Origin...origin...

"That's it!"

Kyte abruptly stood up as he almost shouted those words. Recognizing his sudden outburst, he instantly flew up without a sound. He landed on top of some branches in the trees and calmed himself down.

I get it now. It's the same concept as the Space Origin. I just have to create a Fire Origin, Water Origin, and other Origins and then merge them into the Space Origin.
