Today is the start of the new school year at Mikan High. Your everyday high school with all of its cliques and trends.

~SMACK!~ and a student jolts awake, “Takada-Kun this class is no place to be sleeping!” Takada is one of the new incoming freshmen students and has already been dubbed the Sleeping Mikan due to falling asleep for multiple times in class. Takada is apart of class 1-C.

Takada had spent the night before school reading the manga series 'And he looked the other way' a shoujo manga that he found by chance online while browsing for something new to read. It was not a very popular manga by any means as he was one of the only readers of it, and Takada was not an avid reader of the shoujo genre but this one had caught his attention because the story moved him.

'And he looked the other way' is a story about a girl named Kyouko Hitomi who has had an unrequited love for her childhood friend Takahiro Watanabe since they were children. Kyouko had been by Takahiro’s side for as long as she could remember as he would always be there when she was in danger and protect her. When she finally mustered the courage to confess her feelings to Takahiro he blatantly rejected her without a second thought, telling her that he never once looked at her that way before. Kyouko’s heart broke but she told him that she wouldn't give up and that she would make him love her back no matter what.

The mangaka of the series had just released the newest chapter and Tadaka spent all night reading it, analyzing it, and re-reading the entire series to be able to properly analyze it to the best of degree as he does with manga he finds interesting and worth the effort. Which will lead to him falling asleep in school occasionally and will help explain the current situation at hand.

Takada Mitsuyoshi is currently in homeroom with his homeroom teacher Kira Sensei, “My apologies Sensei, I’ll make sure if I fall asleep again I hide it well.”

Kira Sensei looks at Takada with a sharp gaze “And I’ll make sure that your homework is just a little bit longer than the rest of the class” then proceeds to grin deviously as she continues on with class.

The class laughs at Takada and the guy in front of him turns around to Takada speaking in between laughs “Your one interesting guy Takada the names Tooru Akitsuki, let’s be good friends.”

Takada yawns then gives Tooru a genuine smile “Gladly Akitsuki-kun, let’s be good friends for sure.”

“Just call me Tooru, we are friends so you don't have to be so formal with me,” Tooru says with eyes beaming with delight.

“Call me Takada then” Tadaka remarks.

“Hmm, I know... Taka-kun! I’ll call you Taka-kun,” Tooru replies back while fumbling with joy in making his first friend in high school.

“That’s fine with me, although this is the first time anyone other than my parents have called me that,” Takada states with a slightly embarrassed smile on his face.

The rest of the school day consists of Takada falling asleep in class and being given warnings on falling asleep by every one of his teachers.

Bell rings and school is over for the day, Takada gets his bag and walks with Tooru out of the classroom talking about how Mitsuro sensei the science teacher is nearly bald with only a minuscule amount of strands on the top of his head.

“Haha, Mitsuro sensei seemed so sensitive about his hair when he noticed us staring at it right Taka-kun?” Tooru says while making an impression of Mitsuro sensei combing down the few strands of hair he has with his hands after noticing the class staring at it.

“Yea definitely, I kept catching glimpses of light in my eyes when he moved around, sorry but I gotta go make a deposit at the restroom over there. I’ll see you tomorrow Tooru-kun, let’s have a fun year together.”

“Alright go do what you gotta do Taka-kun, let’s exchange emails first before we split apart,” Tooru pulls out his phone.

“Sure thing, let's make this fast though or else Mt. Fuji here is going to implode,” Takada pulls out his phone and the two swap emails with each other.

Takada waves goodbye to Tooru then rushes towards the bathroom with the speed of Usain Bolt in his prime and releases the demons inside of him almost orgasmically.

As Takada goes on his way out of school he notices a girl sleeping in class 1-B in the middle seat of the row positioned by the window outlooking the entrance of the school.

Takada wonders to himself how she was able to sleep through the noise of the bell and everyone leaving and decides to wake her up and tell her school is over.

Takada shakes her shoulder until she wakes up, she gets up and looks at him quizzically. “Huh, who are you? You don’t look familiar.”

“I do not know who you are either but as for me, I am Takada Mitsuyoshi from class 1-C. I was on my way out of school since the bell rang but I saw you sleeping in here.” Takada responds while motioning towards the small crowds of students still in the campus making their way home.

The girl realizes the situation at hand and proceeds to thank Takada “Thank you for waking me up, my name is Chika Kawasaki from class 1-B as you can probably tell.”

“I’ll be heading on my way home then, thank you Mitsuyoshi-kun again for waking me up. Hope to see you around school sometime.” as she gets up and waves goodbye before heading out.

“Alright hope to see you again too,” Takada replies back. Takada catches a whiff of Chika’s scent as she leaves. The faint smell of blooming cherry blossoms gently caress his nose and he immediately thinks to himself “Wow she smells nice, I feel as if I was actually witnessing the blooming of cherry blossoms during spring,” as he pictures the site in his mind.

“She was indeed pretty though just like her scent, I hope I will see her again soon,” Takada says to himself before he heads home.
