Transmigration

Michael was a model citizen. From birth the moment he was born, he was diligent in everything he did. From his first step. Up to becoming a professor at a high end university. He met the love of his life during his thirties and had four kids. His work that he made as a scholar wasn't groundbreaking but it was decent in comparison to others. Michael throughout his whole life was a god fearing man. He has never questioned the existence of higher power, and in dire times turning to that higher existence seemed to improve his situation. He died at the late age of 102. At the funeral many important people have gathered as well as almost all his family so far to 3rd cousin. His life wasn't outstanding, but he lived it with principles. Michael did not have any regrets during his last breath. He strongly believed in reincarnation, and his last thoughts were about life that lied past his death. He went to his bed to never wake up again. He died as he wished to die. Without any disabilities. His mind disappeared into a state of slumber.

After a few hundred years later his consciousness was woken up again by the gate opening with a beam of light shining from this gate. Michael knew what was coming. He did not hesitate and immediately entered.

-Holy shit!- He heard a voice. It was a really nice female voice. ~Probably my mother~ he thought. After he tried to move he didn't feel the muscles. His touch and visual senses did not respond.

-I'm sorry. I'm not your mother.- Answered voice to his thoughts. -I accidentally opened the gate of reincarnation on the mosquito pupae. I think you'll have to bear with it for a while. Don't worry, they only live for max ten days.-  This statement has surprised him greatly. ~What the fuck?~ he couldn't think of anything else for little while.

~So you've disrupted my slumber to make me a mosquito?~ Michael started to become angry. His memories were not fully wiped yet because of his slumber, and he knew that what just happened wasn't an ordinary thing. -I did not disrupt your slumber- Pouted that girl like she was throwing a tantrum. -I just accidentally opened the reincarnation gate. I didn't even open it for a second and you managed to jump out before I could close it. Normally it would take a lot of time and hesitation to go through that gate you know?- She tried to blame the victim, but Michael figured it out very fast. He didn't spend seventy years of his life with his wife and didn't raise two girls to adulthood for nothing. The response of this girl wasn't on a mature side to be honest. ~That's not good. Mosquitos shouldn't be this conscious, should they? What are you going to do about it?~ Michael started to become a little concerned by the incompetence of the second party. -Bye, have fun- that girl did not hesitate to abandon her mistake, she had a feeling that the longer she stayed there the worse this situation would get. ~...~ Michael was lost for words. Was that how reincarnations are supposed to be handled? ~Women...~ Michael's worldview was pretty based. ~Why did you let a woman handle reincarnations?~ he was convinced, if it was a man that would handle it. Mistakes like that wouldn't happen. Even if it did happen it wouldn't be handled like that. He started praying. From the day he turned five. He didn't have a month without prayer. He even had periods of managed seclusion to pray. So his mind had a pretty strong connection with a higher being. Two hours had passed, and he was still praying. -Woah, buddy. Let's make a deal.- female voice came back she felt that he was no joke and god's presence was increasing there. She was afraid that that mosquito would snitch on her, that she made a very big mistake. Michael finished his prayer a few sentences later. ~What deal?~ He became quite curious by the proposition. -I can give you anything. Under the condition that you won't tell anything to anyone about my mistake.- He had to think for a little. ~I have to know what there is to ask before I would ask about anything.~ -Ask for anything.- ~And that information will be free?~ She hesitated for a little and answered -Yes I'll answer your every question for free before you make your demands, but then you will not be able to decline this deal.- It was clear that she was trying now to scam him. He worked for a while as a salesman in his past life. It was a job to pay for his college tuition. He was pretty good at it. He knew some haggling tactics, but offer that she've made wasn't even worth haggling for. So he went back to his prayers, giving glory and gratitude to god for every thing Michael have experienced so far. That girl knew that it was a buildup for direct conversation with the god. -Ok, ok... You won't enter a deal when you ask and I'll answer all of your questions for completely free- She panicked a little and tried to stop his prayer. ~Good. Am I in the same world I was in as a human?~ first question precision shocked her. -N... no- She stuttered. -Y... You are in a world a human would call a fantasy world- Michael was overjoyed. From the shows that he watched with his children and from the countless game he played DnD with his colleagues during collage. He was knowledgeable in what a fantasy world was. ~What do I have left? I’m pretty sure that this unbalance of my beginning should’ve been somehow equalized.~ He asked the next question. This question surprised her even further. She have never met such a cunning reincarnation. Maybe it was because he reincarnated because of her mistake. His questions feeled to be very on point and they seemed more and more scary to her. -Yo… You have some causality left. I… It would be normally used to reincarnate you. But because mosquitos are pretty powerless, useless and short lived, you’ve used it next to nothing.- she exhaled to relieve the tension while answering it. ~Who are you supposed to be? Introduce yourself.~ This question was much lighter then the first two. Why didn’t he ask that at the beginning tho? -I’m one of the angels that are responsible for the cycle of reincarnation. I’m a transmigration angel in particular.- She finished introducing herself. ~I’m sorry. I didn’t hear your name during your introduction~ She frowned. -My name is Ghophi.- ~… that name quite seems to fit this goofy ass.~ still frustrated Michael thought to himself. She heard it, her face turned red from embarrassment, but she did not respond. She knew he was saying it to himself. Good thing that he didn’t saw her. ~So what can I get for that causality?~ -Everything you want. You can buy for causality.- She became more confident in her speech. ~So when you proposed to do anything for me were you intending to exchange my causality for it?~ Michael asked suspiciously. -EH?!- Ghophi became stoned. He is a very quick witted guy. -Y...- her heart reached her throat. -Yes.- She was ashamed. ~What a goofy little brat.~ Michael felt a little hopeless against her. Ghophi also heard his thoughts this time. Though she knew she deserved worse than being called a goofy little brat. It still hurts her. ~Try to contain in numbers the amount of causality I have left. And tell me how much~ there were a lot of measures to tell the amount of causality, and they differed by the groups of angels. -Hundred – She blurted out a random number. It was like measuring a length. You can measure in meters, centimeters, feet or even dishwashers. Distance is the same but numbers vary based on the measure system. Similar thing was with causality so the question he made was pretty pointless in her opinion. ~Ok give me 500 casualties based on the number you just told me, so after you give me 500 I should have 600 and I won’t tell anyone about your mistake when I have 600~ This proposition really shocked her. He could have asked for anything but he asked for the currency that angels and demons were using. Is that man crazy? How much does he know? People that would have such acute questions should probably already be in heaven or hell.Or did he ask for that ransom by pure luck and coincidence. Without a doubt, he was blessed. -I’ll give you one hundred- she started haggling. He had it pretty stacked, and 500 causality was more than half of her reserves. Michael, hearing this ridiculous proposition, ignored her and started praying again. -Ok two hundred. - She was dumbfounded by how difficult it was to deal with this man. Normally everyone when they heard that she was an angel were in awe and were extremely gentle and kind with her. But this man didn’t give a shit that she was an angel. That frustrating man did not stop praying after she raised it to two hundred. -Two hundred and fifty- she continued to raise the price. Michael would also be in awe of this angel if she didn’t try to scam him. At the start when he heard her gentle voice he thought it was his new mother in this life. Too bad. He was a mosquito. His biological mother was probably at the brink of death… Lying in the cobwebs waiting to be eaten by hungry spiders. -Three hundred.- Michael continued his prayer. -Three hundred and fifty. - Nothing changed. Except Ghuphi’s face becoming more red. -Fourhundred.- That was weird. He was still praying. -Ok, ok. Five hundred it is...- resigned, Ghuphi has agreed on the initial proposition of Michael. To her surprise he still continued his prayer and God's presence was increasing. ~Don’t tell me he is angry that I even tried to haggle?!~ She thought. Michael was just finishing his prayer. He wouldn’t stop midway to strike a deal would he? It would be a profanity in front of a god in his opinion. -Okey, I’ll compensate. I’ll give you six hundred and not a cause more that is my final offer.- Michael became surprised by a sudden raise of the offer. He was willing to take four hundred, but he needed to finish a prayer. Something didn’t seem right. ~Hmm...~ Michael started thinking about a catch. Ghuphi started to become impatient. ~It’s a deal if you will help me to spend it during this life.~ Ghuphi didn’t answer for a while. ~Why would you want to spend so much causality on a mosquito, you would be reincarnated anyway!~ she thought. -Deal- Final answer came out of her mouth. ~Deal.~ Confirmed Michael. She touched one of the mosquito pupae that was within a puddle, and transferred her six hundred causality. Michael had now more causality than her „700”. ~How much would it be for an evolution system that is without a limit?~ Michael asked. -What?!- Ghuphi did not fully understood what an evolution system without a limit meant. ~Some kind of way to constantly get better with a visual screen projecting a strength in numbers, also giving possibility to evolve after some kind of criterias are met. You should probably know about evolution systems, given that you are responsible for transmigration.~ She did not know what an evolution system was until now. The longest talk she had with any reincarnation was the current one with Michael. -Ummm… you mean you want infinite power as an mosquito?- ~No, I am asking about a possibility of constantly getting better without an impossible tasks blocking my way to become stronger. A male fantasy of constant improvements. I just ask for price, it doesn’t mean I want to buy it right away.~ -It would be fifty for a mental screen showing strength in numbers and two hundred for skipping a task considered as (impossible) blocking the way of improving the strength of a mosquito. Impossible task is one that you have less than a 10% chance to clear.- It seemed from her voice that she was reading something. ~What about eternal life for me while staying in a peak state of age?~ -Hundred- ~For a mosquito?!~ Michael was pretty surprised. ~We didn’t strike a deal for me not to tell a god that you are a scammer and liar.~ A cold chill runned down Ghuphi’s spine. This mosquito is menacing. -I did not lie. Part of the price is just my commision fee!- Ghuphi started justifying the price. ~What an easy kid~ Thought Michael. She also heard it and became embarrassed. ~How much of a pain in the ass can an old man be?~ she thought. ~Do you think that you are in a position to have a commision fee now?~ Michael mocked.

-Okey, okey…- Ghuphi resigned. -It’s fifty- The price still smelled fishy for Michael for some reason. But he didn’t push further, 50% bonus was enough. ~What about an analysis option that would give out numbers of people and things regardless of their level in a distance of about fifty meters?~ -Fifty- Ghuphi answered quickly. -But a mental screen would be required for that- ~All seeing perception? I mean if there is magic there to become stronger I should probably see things like the flow of magic and see past illusions.~ -One hundred and fifty- Ghuphi answered. ~I’ll take one of each.~ Michael said boldly. Even after he purchased all of these buffs he still had two hundred causality. It was still more than he had right after he reincarnated as a mosquito. Even if he died prematurely this life wouldn’t be for nothing after all. Ghuphi was dumbfounded. She just saw a mosquito spend two months of her paycheck on buffs. She could only scrap back about 80 causality points from handling fees. At least she wasn’t snitched on. That was the price of her mistake.
