Ch 1. Part 12. To you, a thousand year later

Ch 1. Part 12. To you, a thousand year later

The general theory of mana conservation is as follows: Mana is both wave and matter, cannot be destroyed nor created but can be converted freely from state to state. Most sources state mana as a “transitional” state, which is used primarily to convert one energy equivalent to another, and not an “energy equivalent”, which is just another derivative of energy. In a sense, neural signals are a kind of mana which travels inside the body, delivering information to and from the brain. Consciousness can also be explained as mana embedded with memories and personality. Even though the primitive theories are known, science cannot explain how personality and feelings occur, at least, in terms of material science.

“If what you are saying is true, then there is an afterlife; there is a place where lost souls go. And, if you can see somethings people do not, then you should know there is something wrong with me. There is something that is missing, you see”, says San, smiling hollow-like at Li. “Some part of me is missing, the memories before I arrived at Russia, the time when me and Will used to be together and even my family cannot be remembered. After all, my survival of that one explosion was a miracle in itself and nothing could be guaranteed from a miracle, yes?” she adds, sipping from a cup of coffee. As she lights up a smoke, “Smoking is bad for you, please refrain from it. I do not believe in afterlife myself but, if there really is one and lost souls and memory alike wander there, I would really like to visit it someday; I have something to take from there”, says Will, moving to the cage to be visible to Li. “If the thing you seek is selfishly small, then the trip will not be worth”, says Luyo as the outer shell surrounding Li starts to dissipate. Smiling, “The cost of it would not hinder me in the slightest”, says Will.

Yawning, “So, what did I miss?”, says Li, in his normal accent. Releasing the birdcage, “Oh, nothing. We just talked about afterlife and such; how is it like and what not”, says Johann, maintaining his smile he kept before Li’s slumber. With a goal clear, the group decides on the route Li made. Everyone has their reasons for making the journey and the thought of perfect teleportation is imminent in their mind, “For the future and for the past, this will not be completed by anyone but us” they think.

“As the journey will take us at least a week and a half, make sure that everything you do, every business undone, is taken care of. I will stay here and Li said he took everything he needed in the suitcase of his yesterday so we will take care of the commodities we would need on the journey, here. Anna said she would take care of the tickets so we would have to thank her for that. Well then, take care and meet up here this evening”, says Johann.

As San and Will leave the versteckter Gipfel bakery and walk towards the east, “What do you know of human transfiguration?”, asks San, looking down to the cobblestone walk. “If they do not know what they are doing, they would end up like me – with no future. When I gave my mana to rekindle yours, it seems that most of it did not hit the target. From what Johann said and the incident happened yesterday, you do not have much capacity, no?”, says Will. Looking up to the cloudy sky, “When I woke up in Russia, a group of people wearing white robes and religious pendants and scarves welcomed me in a hospital, all white. I did not understand a word they said but they spoke a dialect of 3 Ring Chants so I knew I was in Russia. One guy, in casual clothes, came one day and spoke to me in a language I knew – Finnish. He asked if I remembered anything but I could not recall any of the moments from the past. He explained how they were able to bring me back from complete paralysis and why I did not remember the past. He gave me the name of Anastasia, in memory of his late mother, and tutored me with “Russian Education” which consisted of military doctrine, basic natural science, mechanical engineering and firearms manufacturing. He even commended the rate I learnt all of it – in just 3 years. But knowing something and having competence in it are two completely different things, as such, I never made use of any. Even now, that he is dead, I do not understand why he did all of it, all just for a girl”, says San. “Sounds like he was a good guy. Who did he say his name was, if you do not mind me asking?”, says Will. “Anatoly Olena Gvozdika, but I used to call him Brother Tolia”, says San, smiling softly.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

There is no such thing as pure evil or pure righteous – grey and grey only. And so, even if the person in particular did the worst, they still have a stint of humanity in them – even in those who committed genocide. Stopping suddenly, Will seems to be in quite a shock. His eyes cannot be seen, “Gvozdika – the reason I learned Russian, meaning “Cloves” or… “Carnation”. Say, when did he die again?”, says Will. “You… do not seem well. Did I say something wrong? Why are you asking me that, mate?”, says San, obviously scared for Will. “He died on the 5th of November, two years ago”, she adds. Laughing hysterically, “The city of Lahti, the place you were born, was destroyed by that devil. On the same day he was killed, by a gunshot from a Mosin, he burned down your entire city along with the rest of your family. The pendant I held so dear was salvaged from the ruins, amidst a pile of bodies. I assume he had taught you the “Guillotine Maneuver” – the most effective way to assert dominance and the end of an era”, says Will. Engulfed in disbelief, “He was a religious entity, there is no way he would disobey God’s teaching. Even so, why would he save and prosper me? Why would such a good person commit such atrocities? Why… Why would he spare the last of his enemies?”, asks San, over and over.

“Once in a thousand years, an entity known as “0” takes form of a human and searches for his once beloved. But, every time he reincarnates, he is never able to find the thing he was searching for. Instead, he brings peace and prosperity to the race he took form of, dubbed the arrival of Pax Absolute. Devoted to his arrival, a group of people, named the Pure Zero, or the Clean Zero, formed and worshiped him as a god. His last arrival was about a century ago, in the land far east. Since his arrival, the Chinese region began to prosper, only until a few years ago. His origins are unknown but the more people suffer, the more likely he is able to find what he is searching – his beloved. Nothing is known about what or who he is searching but it is believed that, once he gets what he wants, he would leave the people in chaos. It is either suffer thy self or suffer his self. It is the ever-old tale of “To you, my dear, a thousand year later”. I like this fairy tale. It originated from my hometown, but no-one knows who wrote it”, tells Will, now in his apartment. After San fainted in the middle of the streets, Will brought her to the only place where he could live his life – his home.
