Duncan looked at each of the choices that appeared before him and thought of the pros and cons of each.
1. The 500 additional points and 200% increase to points, Duncan had no clue how useful points are, but if 500 points were a big deal, then it must be pretty important. He could afford many things with 1500 points, and his point income would be stable. On the other hand, More points means more responsibilities as he would use those points on bigger projects.
2. Taming two beasts would ensure he had a research subject to find out about the apocalypse he might appear in. It might also offer an adequate defense system so he could focus on other places. The thoughts of cross breeding is also viable to integrate into his survivors. The downside is, it specified that it was a creature, anything mechanical like rouge robots or harmful AI units would be out of his reach.
3: He would be able to choose the location, this offered him the chance of choosing a great place to settle, It made it possible to avoid dangerous locations like an open field or a broken space station. But if he settle in too good of a place, then bandits or other dangerous people will come and attempt to take it over, costing him points to upgrade defenses and personal.
In all honesty Duncan was bored with his life, he wanted a challenge to face, Easy points would make it easier on him, Taming a beast would be taking a gamble and choosing a location he had the option of choosing a difficult starting place.
Thinking about it, the game's aim was to have him manage a Den to ensure it is not wiped out. It would choose a location that was bad in itself but was not totally destroyed, then chose an appropriate apocalypse to coincide with the shelter chosen. If He chooses the location, then the apocalypse will be chosen as another.
Duncan grasped his head and rubbed his hair, trying to think of what to choose. Lets take a gamble he finally decided and selected his option.
Option Two Selected: You are now able to tame two creatures, free of all expenses, as well as an instantaneous taming process. You are now entering the game, here is the following occasions.
A virus from a lab has escaped from confinement and has infected the populous. The effects of the virus mutants the bodily structure of it's host, giving the host new powers that you are unable to understand. The powers that appear vary per host, but there is a ranking system with Rank 1 being the lowest and Rank 10 being the highest.
Welcome to the Aigen Colony: A beginning Den of survival.
Your group of survivors have barricaded themselves in a broken down train tunnel, rocks have collapsed on one side, a door opens up to a generator room, storage room, and a series of dark tunnels. The other side of the tunnel is opened up to the wild, though a hasty barricade has been put up to repel intruders.
You have a total of 20 survivors, 5 female humans, 7 male humans, 3 Insects, 2 AI Units, 1 Dryad, 2 Sahuagin.
The darken screen lit up after the message and I see a cylindrical room with a side room branching from it. A tall wall of rubble closed off one of the entrances of the cylindrical room. As the game said, a series of dark passage ways were connected to the side room. The side room further broke into a storage room, generator room, bathroom, and a small closet.
The cylindrical room had train tracks on it, on the tracks were 2 train cars, both of them storage cars while a third was crushed underneath the rubble. A wooden barricade was propped against leaning sticks, several ivies were draped across the board to offer partial camouflage.
Duncan observed the situation, The 12 humans were huddled together, trying to scavenge around the room, the dryad and the sahuagins were guarding the front by the barricade. he checked the area around the base and found it was near a highway, a broken down bus was nearby as well as a traffic jammed highway, mostly filled with broken cars. No other life forms for miles around. Next to the highway was a forest, the trees were spread apart to offer some vision but it was also packed so that people could not see far.
Situated in this forest was the Den he now had to manage.
"I'm glad that I chose the second option now, I can find out about these special powers and whether I can copy them. I should look at the species that are not human.
The dryad was a nature-based creature, but she required souls to nurture herself, she could provide for the group by farming, and healing, physically and ,for the boys, mentality. The Sahuagin were water-based creatures, they would require meat to continue, something the Dryad could not provide. They also needed to be submerged in water from time to time or else they would dry out. They were excellent fighters as well.
The insects were two palm size creatures, One was a Mantis, the other a Centipede. Other than that the humans didn't really stand out, a few round people, a few thin ones, a range of tall and short. Common hair colors of black, brown and blond. The three that caught my eyes were a tall smiling and muscular guy. A medium-build lanky, kid with wild eyes, and disheveled blond hair. and a small petite girl who seemed scared of everything.
I selected the three people of interest and looked at their information.

Sandra Jerricho
Age: 12
Gender: Female
History:
Jerricho was a sheltered girl, who doesn't know much about the outside world, when the virus first outbreak her family was one of the first to be hit, her overprotective parents told her to run as they sacrificed themselves. Finding Loveheart's group as she ran away she now stays with them, seeking knowledge and a shelter to protect herself.
Interesting people, If Duncan take the warning into consideration, these are actual people in real life who failed the game.
Issueing orders for Sandra to interact with the insects. Duncan noticed that the group designated Loveheart as the leader, despite his negative influence over the girls in the group so he had him set up a schedule, this included a boy and a girl, along with one of the sahuagins to be at the barricade as guards. Groups to go scavenging and exploring as well as searching for other survivors and another group to repair and expand the Den.
After Duncan got that situation handled he looked around the base to see what he could do to improve it. First off he used 400 of his points to get a fresh water and salt water pond. The salt water was for washing and home to the Sahuagins and the fresh water was for drinking purposes.
Next he lit up a few of the passage ways in the smaller room for 50, it revealed a corridor with about four doors, three of the wouldn't budge for now and the last opened up to a dark stairway, echoes could be heard from above. He granted one of the humans knowledge on crafting makeshift weapons and daily necessities. He also spawned in materials for them to use, such as upgrading the barricade which cost him a good 300 points.
Finally he chose to upgrade the generator room to include a small computer lab, with the upgrade, the two AI units that he previously had now had a place to work from. But with that he burned through all his points.
Now that Duncan was out of points he decided to investigate the two AI units that woke up.
AI Units: Lincoln and Rosa.
Specialties:
Lincoln: Crafts AI units, knowledgeable on how to build structures and defense networks.
Rosa: Farming techniques and livestock. Capable of increasing genetic variations and successful cross-breeding.
Functionability:
Lincoln: 2% knowledge accessability (Needs a better CPU and Memory)
Rosa: 0% knowledge accessability (Requires suitable environment and body)
Duncan grimaced at the percentages that showed up, and that is when he realized he felt something new. "This game..... made me feel something?" Duncan was shocked at the revelation of it all. "For once I feel excitement, anticipation. Can I finally break free of this boring world?"
Duncan put the phone down and sat on his bed, contemplating on his newly emerged feelings. "Not once has a game brought this type of influence on him yet this single game for an hour at the most made him feel alive.
Should he stop playing? No that would be stupid, where else would he sense this feeling. His pace was faster than usual, his body felt funny but he recognized it as adrenaline, he actually sported a piercing headache for concentrating on the game for so long. "I should see the costs for items for the future" Duncan confirmed and he checked the list and almost fell over.

....... Previous Page (1) of (100)...... Next Page........
Not to mention the amount of pages, but the points alone made Duncan choke on air. Although he did include some upgrades, it was low tier and didn't cost that much points, but the points he saw on the screen can as an unexpected surprise, Duncan has yet to know the point yield of his Den and that was when he remembered the first option, if 500 points was a big help, then what kind of progress did he miss?
"Points are everything in this game" Duncan sweated.
Duncan heard a knock on his door, distracting him from the game and a voice calls to him.
"Duncan dear, come down for dinner, it's your favorite" a womanly voice announced.
"Coming mom, let me just put away my phone first" Duncan replied... after tasting all kinds of exquisite foods, he sort of lost the taste for food, almost everything seemed bland to him so nothing could really be called his favorite, but if he knew that his mom had made the steak cooked medium well, a dash of Himalayan salt on the steak and a side of corn, carrots, onions and peas.
Taking one last look at his phone before he set it down, Duncan got up and left for dinner.
